Nothing beats a hike close to home! The Mount Harvey trail is a rite of passage for any Lower Mainland hiker but, is not for the faint of heart. Tucked nearby to Vancouver, this knee shatteringly steep trail gains 1260m of elevation in approximately 5.6km. It’s not the highest peak close to home, but it’s close towering 1,652m over the city of Vancouver.
Pain and suffering is the price of admission but the show is spectacular. Mount Harvey is my favourite viewpoint in the Lions Bay area and offers an amazing perspective of the North Shore Mountains, Sea To Sky, Howe Sound, Bowen Island, Gambier Island, The Sunshine Coast and of course the Mighty Lions.

You're so lucky to live in LB!
Such a wonderful area.
2 more months till skiing ⛷⛷⛷❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
You Betcha - gettin' excited!
Can’t wait for the Whistler videos to come come back. Would you ever consider making a video like this? ua-cam.com/video/ebXq0HUvvNQ/v-deo.html . It would be cool to combine some of your “best tree/ groomer skiing” videos and I think it would get quite a few views as well because there’s nothing in the space currently.
There’s also one for vail which is a bit more interesting. ua-cam.com/video/xvUOBMv_T-4/v-deo.html
Hey Adam,
This is a really great idea.
Would be pretty easy for me to sit down in front of a map and talk about some of the fun areas to check out!
Maybe something I could try posting pre-season for all the folks planning trips and looking for some intel.
@@riseandalpine That would be very useful and interesting I think. I’m coming from Australia in January so I look forward to watching it.
I think Brunswick has a better view.
Totally, it's a bit higher and the technical summit makes it extra fun. I've been up there while doing the HSCT but never filmed it. Hopefully I can do it at some point this summer.
@@riseandalpine I'm doing Brunswick on Friday. Is it more or less difficult than the Lions via Binkert Trail from Lions Bay?
@@tankhistoryfordummies Honestly they are pretty darn similar. The logging road to start is pretty boring and the best part is the final scramble!
@@riseandalpine Did Mt. Brunswick on Friday, July 28th. Quite a grind through the trees, beautiful scenery at the top, best hike I've ever done so far. I might go to Harvey next or Mt. Unnecessary. I will create a video once I reach the summit of all the major peaks of the Howe Sound ( Brunswick, Harvey, Lions, Mt Unnecessary, Hat Mountain). Conditions were ok, quite dry.
@@tankhistoryfordummies Amazing! Brunswick has the best view of them all. Did you start at the Porteau cove lot and pass by Brunswick lake?
