So relatable Spencer! I think this mindset of wanting more helps us to reach out and achieve more, but at the same time it kills our contentment with the present moment. Glad to have someone reminding me to ground my mindset back to the simple and important things which are often overlooked
So interesting......I'm just about to start my final year of film production at university and I too wanna somehow get myself into the film industry. I know at first I'll probably just be making cups of coffee for people but hopefully I will gain experience to get into the lower ranks of the camera department and move on up. I think the film industry is quite glamourised....but when it becomes a job with 6AM starts every morning, its tough, but its a choice and you should be thankful to yourself for putting yourself where you are today! Loveeee your videos Spencer!
It is so coincidental how people half away across the country experience such similar things. I'm very happy for you and appreciate the light you have shown on this. Glad to add another video to my favorites playlist.
Amazon Prime orders...too good:) Thank you for the perspective. I needed to hear this today, instead of continuing to feel sorry for myself. Sending good vibes!
Punched the subscribe button. :) This is a really amazing video. I love how you edited it. You should look into voiceover work too. I grew up in SoCal most all of my life but moved away 8 years ago to pursue college and career, now I’m focusing on where my passions in my career have always been since before college by moving back to near Los Angeles. Working in design, motion graphics, and vfx. Definitely have always wanted to work in cinematography/film industry too if those opportunities arise. However, I feel focusing and getting insanely good at my strongest craft is what I need right now in my life. I have been mostly positive throughout the process lately of planning to move back Los Angeles area. Though some doubt has risen about being able to afford to live in california and doubt that it is the place that I have always thought it to be. Then yesterday and today I have been looking up videos of people moving to Los Angeles and yours was one of the latter that came up. Thank you so much for making this video and even your shorter simple but great video on you moving to Los Angeles. But also, everything you described in this video I can relate to. Of always having the mindset that it’s always greener on the other side of the hill and not really as much ever where I am currently. Thankfully I have been realizing more fully over the last few months that it is never about the destination and never was. There never is a true permanent destination, there is only things happening to the point of eternity. Frankly I wouldn’t want it any other way because what would you do if you got to a destination and could not move forward. Kinda boring or non-progressing to me. Now I try to remind myself of loving the process, and owning every moment. Even if I were to; such as yourself, do something that I am not particularly excited about at first but is still in the main vicinity of my career field. I will do my best to completely OWN that situation or opportunity, to make it the best experience, and or do the best job that I can do in it. Learning everything I can from that experience to be a better designer, motion graphics artist, photographer, videographer. You definitely got me thinking man! Thanks for the inspiring and thought provoking video! :) Any general brief tips for moving to Los Angeles and getting into the film industry from you? Or anyone else?
This video is so relatable to my life right now. As a second year graphic design student, I sit in my classes, I dread going to class, I dread having to do my projects and I only hope for the weekend to come sooner. Seeing this video re-opened my eyes to something I always tell people, which is that I have learned to appreciate things. That is something that I have not been doing the last 4 weeks of school. Thank you for that Spencer, your videos are always an inspiration.
So happy to see that you uploaded! Its good that you reflect on these moments and actually be able to realise that you need to be grateful. Actually, most people take jobs just for the money because they need to. Its a learning opportunity...did ya enjoy it though?
Please upload more man you are honestly an amazing creator
I hope to hit your level of artistry some day. Amazing video.
