Too Cool To Care

- This video was filmed over two years ago. A big part of me wanted to reshoot this and change some of the wording because it doesn’t represent who I am today. But this video is my history, it’s a time capsule of who I was and how I was feeling at the time. And that is something I don’t want to erase.
This video came to be because of a quote I heard from Matt Damon about being “too cool to care” in Hollywood.
He said …
“It was like, ‘Why are we sitting here? Let’s make our own movie.’ And if people come to see it, they come; and if they don’t, they don’t. Either way, it beats sitting here going crazy. When you have so much energy and so much passion and no outlet for it and nobody cares, it’s just the worst feeling… This whole ‘I’m too cool to care’ thing… is so weak and stupid and played out, and it just brings everybody down. You shouldn’t be too cool to care, for Christ’s sake. You should be full of vim and vigor, and trying to do everything you can to make a change.”
When I heard this quote I was immediately struck because even though this quote was about Hollywood I found it to be exactly how I felt about my dating life.
Making this video made me realize how much I do care, how much I want to care, and how much I haven’t cared in the past. I don’t want to act like I am not into you, I don’t wanna chill!
Since making this video I have noticed a major change in my dating life. I am much more content. I don’t fiend like I used to or wonder why she left me on read, so it goes!
In my life today I make sure I only date people who care. People who want to be here and want to date/hang out/whatever term fits your flavor. And yes! This does diminish my dating pool to smaller than it has ever been before, but my satisfaction in my dating life has surpasses the moon.
This life is too short to act like I don’t care, to act like I’m not into you. And whether it's our culture or the influence that dating apps have on us, I am sick of this idea that I am too cool to care when it comes to dating someone. Because I do care, I care so much that I no longer allow that type of attitude to exist in my dating life, both on my side of the table and with whom I choose to invite to occupy the seat across from me.
I’ve been cutting a lotta bullshit out of my life these past two years. And even though the person you see in this video is not who I am today, I am proud to have this video because this is when the change started to happen.

Hey, spencer I am an aspirer just like you, I have a love of cinema and cinematography and storytelling, I would really like to know How you learned to create such beautiful shots, I would love to learn more about cinematography and I just need a little help, what do I learn to get better, I know about making videos yourself and learn from your mistakes, but If I don't know what mistakes I've made then, how would I fix them. Please your knowledge about this would help a lot.

Just remember with cinematography and filmmaking there is no right or wrong. Many folks might say I cut off too many heads, like this thumbnail or give too much headroom in my interviews, but that's my style.
The key is to go out and shoot. And never be scared to let your framing or lighting be inspired by others, that's a great way to learn
