I lived in Africa for many, many years. In fact, I was born there and even though I am white, I loved the soul food of the African people and turkey necks were one of my most favourite foods ever, growing up. The MOST unfortunate thing is, since I moved to the UK, it is so very, very difficult to find chicken or turkey necks, gizzards, hearts and livers. They just don't sell them here. BUT, I just happened to come across a delightful gentleman who runs a Muslim halal shop very close to me and he has been a lifeline in supplying me with those ingredients. He can't supply me with bulk but that's ok. He gives me what he can and I am so thankful to create even small dishes with what he can supply :)

Oh my goodness. reminds me of my mother's cooking. We are from Chicago but we live in Arizona. She grew up in a house with parents and grandparents who were all from the south. There is nothing better than eating home- down home food. All scratch, no box junk and definately no micro-wave.

Thanks Chris I just finished my Sunday Dinner and I didn't have to add any salt. Turkey Necks taste delicious and the Lima Beans. I did make your collard greens to go with this plus a sweet potato casserole. Will make my cornbread about 45 minutes before eating. You make cooking so fun. Love you Chris.

That was one of the most beautiful pans of cornbread I have ever seen. And I kivecto see a common sense cook...using “shoe boxes” for thijgscother shoes. I didn’t see a shoe box. I just saw a plastic container. And for those who complain about it...just hush up and make do with what you have. Some of us have to.
Neck meat is some of the best meat on any bird. There just isn’t much of it and you have to work to get it off the bones! Haha!
