Hey Dad, I like your creative use of drumsticks saving your aching back from an unnecessary stretch. However, your daughter has a much better hat than you. My guess is that this video was made before The Big Push. This one hits particularly hard without the visuals. When I bought Freckled Angels I had trouble listening to this song but none of the others on the album - there are some amazing bangers waiting for you. What I do when that happens is just listen to it over and over until my ears adjust. Here's what I heard about this but don't take my word for it: Bibi was Ren's girlfriend but had to leave to preserve her own mental health but agreed to help Ren do this video. I imagine that it was hard for both of them. Perhaps that is what adds to its authenticity.
Ren was very ill with psychosis after this. Not sure about timings but eventually after he was diagnosed with Lyme disease he was offered stem cell treatment free if he could get to Los Angeles I believe Bibi was largely behind raising money for seeing the doctor who gave original diagnosis He eventually recovered enough to start busking in Brighton and rented an apartment He needed people to share the cost who didn't mind a lot of noise Romaine Xsisa guitars singing and later Goran Kendal guitars singing harmonica joined him they also busked and they all formed The Big Push with Glen joining them as drummer This is information from various YT interviews
Love this one, it’s hard to hear/ watch though. You probably know by now that Bibi was his partner. She helped him raise the initial funds through go fund me for his treatment but did leave him for her own mental health sakes 🖤
1: he has already said his next record is a more traditional rock record 2: this one isn’t on his channel but is from around the same time…before his diagnosis and while he was still really sick. He wrote this for a documentary about ME (chronic fatigue syndrome): m.ua-cam.com/video/284ugnS_ruQ/v-deo.html

Aww 🥰
Bibi was Ren's girlfriend at this time and, unlike in the video, she stayed with him and gave great support in his darkest moments.
