- Nike brought back one of their most iconic shoes from the archives with the recent release of the Air Trainer 1 in its OG colourway, "Chlorophyll". Originating in 1987 and designed by Tinker Hatfield, this do-it-all sneaker was used at the gym, on the court, and for any other reason you needed it for. Just got my pair of 2022 Chlorophyll Air Trainer 1s and I Love them! Been waiting a very long time for Nike to release them again and they did not disappoint. These are definitely gonna be a staple in my sneaker rotation from now on.

I was so surprised by the comfort on these that I wanted to buy another pair. I’m hoping the air trainer high SC “Auburn” colourway has the same quality as these cause Nike nailed it with this release. 10/10 for me 🔥
Yeah I agree Nike hit it out of the park with these. Although I see people commenting about how the leather seems to be poor. I’m my opinion I think if they would have used premium leather do to the fact these were generally made for tennis players and other athletic performance this shoe would probably lose it’s forum. My pair was decently made with no glue stains nor loose thread. Overall very pleased with this and extremely surprised by how comfortable they are! I foresee this seeing some heavy use!

Most comfortable shoes I have ever worn, I wish most shoes felt this good and it looks cool especially the green and black.

Even by the low standards that Nike seems to have everyone expecting, it's disappointing to see such an iconic re-issue/tribute come out so poorly. It's kind of insulting to the brand's heritage and especially Nike fans - they deserve better (almost said we, but think I am slipping out of the Swoosh's orbit for retros...)
I could not agree more, event the SB model from 2020 was muuuuuuuch better from the quality POV. I was pretty excited to get this (In Spain are still available from 38.5 to 44) but when I’ve got them in hands, it was a big big disappointment. Glue, poor quality leather and several scuffs on the suede!
Compare it to the OG and the quality is still better than way back then.
@@kaneda4102 You kind of hope that in 35 years of technological advanced and expertise in making things better and faster as well as cheaper, Nike would deliver a product that is comparable to what New Balance can do with, say their 2002. It's just so disappointing that Nike can't/won't do better.

I missed on drop day but I just copped today after the restock like 2 weeks ago.. Pretty happy with the cop.. I definitely really wanted this OG retro.
Picked up a pair. The medium green isn't exactly the same the OG's I had in jr.high but I'll live with it. It'll be nice to have these in the rotation for the gym & casual use. I prefer the nu buck over the suede they used on the sb release. I'm satisfied overall and glad to have this classic back in the fold.

Took an L on snkrs app, found em in my mall. Love them, I'm a wide foot & went tts, they're soft enough quality I feel they will break in perfectly. Almost went back for a send pair

I love these shoes so much. I'm dating myself, but I copped these back in 1987 when I was in grade 7. They were so dope. I wore them until they fell apart completely. lol. I'm going to have to pick up a pair of these, for sure. Thanks for the video, as always! 🙂
Yesss they were the yeezy of our days in the mid late 80s EVER ONE had on air trainers not to many wore J's like that, but these were the go to shoe as a kid in the golden 80s ,air trainer 1,2,3 are also apart of the Nike air trainer Bo Jackson series all the way up to the air trainer max 91's

I’m really happy Nike brought these back for us. I think in my opinion that they probably didn’t use premium soft leather because these shoes were made for actual tennis players, “meaning after a while the leather would most likely fold or start to loose it’s forum. Anyway that’s just my opinion let me know if you think that’s a possibility.

First off shout outs to Sean Go with the most accurate sizing suggestion in the game! these are popping up everywhere. Again a little disappointed in the quality but if they go on sale I will be buying another pair. I'm a Size 11 slightly on the wider side. bought 11.5 and returned for 11 as the will break in a bit and there was a little too much room going half size up IMO.

got em. finished the nike air trainer pack with these. I got the coriander and the smoke grey ones I passed on the honey dew trainer wasn't feeling colors so I finished the pack with original trainer 1.
I copped the travis scott trainers, the rose colorway, and hope to get the photon colorway too. These shoes are unique and need some love
They are dope and for Nike to actually go back to their roots on bringing back this sneaker means a lot to a guy from the 80s decade, I had this color way and the OG white, Grey, and the burgundy color way and I have the inferred ones as well that dropped in 2014 but the official 1987-1988 white,light grey and burgundy color felt sooooo good on my feet bro every step literally felt like a foot massage from the heavens, one of the most comfortable shoe I ever wore, I'm definitely coppin these again, seen warn in many films and tv shows and sports events in the 80s, a true OG Nike classic shoe for life
I did cop haven’t received my order yet hopefully it’ll be here sometime this week but I agree for more of a og shape I would’ve been happy to spend 200 bucks but this pair version isn’t bad
I have picked up a couple of pairs and I know some people have had minor aesthetic issues but luckily my pairs arrived flawless and they are comfortable to wear which I am confused when certain people say they are uncomfortable.

I wouldn't say these particular pair but somehow In 1996 I got my hands on a OG pair of white,light Grey and burgundy color way Nike air trainer 1 low, these are mid top, but I had to been like 17 at the time, man you talking about a comfortable fit shoe,them shoes felt like your foot was getting a massage with every step, felt to good to be shoes and they look dope AF , i ware a 8 1/2 and I was thee only kid in my high school that had them, dope shit moments right lol and the 1991 white and black colorway Nike air Huarache runner sneaker and 1993 white, blue, and inferred colorway Nike airmax III BEST SHOES IN COMFORT hands down
I am debating on going up a half size. I hit on a pair of ALD 650Rs and went up a half size to see if they fit better. Something tells me to go up a half, with my wide ass feet.
The white leather is exactly the same cut they used for the recent flight lite mid. Still a great shoe though.
Chlorophyll? More like bore-o-phyll. Just kidding. Still waiting for mine to come in the mail. I was born in 1987 so this shoe & the air max 1 are big favorites of mine when it comes to Nike retro models. Glad to hear quality is good too.

Yes these have air units built in the mid sole, no air window visible, but understand when Nike first released the
A I R NIKE back in the 80s no air window aka air bubble was visible and these were from that region of shoes , like the nike air Pegasus but to answer you question, they definitely have a air system unit in the soles

I can't believe the bigger sizes sold out everywhere. I tried on half-size and full-size up in the Utility SPs and full size up was much more comfortable.

@@khaldub half size up was fine. just saying full size up was much more comfy. no heel slip. also these shoes look small on your feet.
QC on these wasn't the best and the white leather panel on the inside is disapointing in hand. But when you put them on feet the shape and fit is excellent(better then the SB from 2 years back)esspecialy the toe box holds up pretty well. So just wear these and enjoy them. On feet they realy shine and are pretty comfy as well. One of my favorite picknups of the year so far!
What was bad about the SB fit? Never tried those.
@@SeanGo something about the height of the toebox in combination with the quality of the perforated toebox panel makes them crease realy easy and nasty. The 2022 gr version doesn't have this problem at all.
I disagree, i thought the quality on these were awesome and leather was very soft reminiscent of the performance leather from the OG. Pair that you could actually use. I’ll double up on these eventually. They’re now my gym shoes.
Every Nike Basketball sneaker with a strap should serve a functional purpose like this or the Jet Flight.
