I have an autistic son and I used to have similar problems. My son would cry so bad it broke my heart. One time a barber told his wife who was visiting him that my son is crazy. He spoke in a language he thought I didn't understand but I did. Another time a barber became abusive. He started yelling at me and my then 2 year old that we are showing no respect to his friend who was cutting the hair because my son was crying. Then another time one barber stopped cutting the hair in the middle and told us to leave even though my son was only crying a little bit. A few years ago I found a hairdresser who was very understanding and kind and very patient with my son. She didn't get angry or turned up her nose my son got upset but talked to him in a very soothing voice. My son doesn't cry anymore when his hair is cut. I keep his hair long and we have always only used scissors. The hairdresser(Martha) has left the saloon now but I would always be grateful to her for the way she treated me and my son. I completely understand why people will travel across to have their children hair cut by Stylist Jenine. She is clearly awesome.

@StealthyMonk that was in the 1970's, that does not happen anymore. Scientists have done more research since then and this has stopped happening. Also you saying that vaccinations causes autism is actually really disrespectful. My sister was born with severe autism. My mums side has a history of autism, it's genetic. Not caused by vaccinations. Outside your experience from the 1970's, have you ever actually looked into what vaccinations do? And if vaccines cause autism, i would much rather have a child with aspergers or autism than have them die from a completely preventable painful disease such as polio or measles. Imagine this- you have a beautiful child who has just survived a life threatening cancer. This girl goes to a party for another little girl whose mother didn't vaccinate their child because they believe it causes autism. The little girl contracts a disease from the young girl and she passes away, aged 6 from a illness her body was too weak to fight, all because her mother didn't vaccinate her child. I really recommend doing some research into vaccines from nowadays and to not stick to the past and to also look into the "vaccinations cause autism" claim and the research that went into it being debunked. Thank you and God bless you.
@StealthyMonk I can see where you are coming from, we have survived for millions of years. But that's because of a combination of survival of fittest and people have many children. Because of mordern medicine, we have increased our lifespan vastly. Young children now don't die from smallpox or polio because of vaccines. So you would rather have a young child die of a completely preventable disease because its "unnatrual". You sir, are extremely uneducated, breast milk does not stop polio or other life threatening diseases. And about the measles thing. That is how your immune system works. And that's how vaccines work. They prepare your body to fight disease without exposing you to disease symptoms so your immune system will be able to fight off the disease. You really need to do some basic scientific research on how vaccines work.

@StealthyMonk yes he was. The big difference in vaccines now as opposed to his mom's vaccines 30 years ago is the number of them and they get more right before they leave the hospital. But, all the "experts" say vaccines have zero to do with autism. I personally think they do but I'm just a grandmother with a mildly autistic grandson who lives with it every day lol.
@StealthyMonk I believe that vaccines are very important. They work. They save lives. I can tell you though, my grandson had MORE vaccines before the age of 2 than previous generations (my kids). Before he left the hospital, he had his first Hepatitis vaccine!!!! I've NEVER had one because, unless you're in a high risk job (hospital or food worker)or lifestyle, they don't even recommend them. He also received the menangitis and chicken pox vaccines, which his mom didn't get. Autism has become widespread, hitting families in every class, city, state and living conditions. The one thing that they seem to have in common is the vaccines. It seems to me that once they raised the number and variety of them, boom autism exploded. I'm not an anti vaxxer by any means. They wiped out polio, measles, whooping cough, mumps. But some, like the Hepatitis and Menangitis ones are only recommended to the rest of the population in certain instances. Doesn't seem right to make them MANDATORY for babies
@StealthyMonk State of Ohio. They have to have them to start school and most public daycare centers. I was SHOCKED when we brought him home 13 yrs ago and he had already gotten the hep vaccine. No one was sick, no junkies or nurses. When I asked the nurse about it she said it was the new shot schedule. I was floored. Neither are common, not where we live. They first came out with the menangitis and chicken pox ones about 20 so years ago because my Dr offered them to me for my youngest. I asked him how many cases of menangitis he had seen, he said 1 in 20 years. 1!!! I passed. 15 years later, it's mandatory
@StealthyMonk I believe it is because we are diagnosing it more. Less is being called insane. I suppose 50 years ago they may have been tossed into an insane asylum. My dad said they would have and he worked at one during that time.
Nice to finally see someone willing to make a change. I have autism and had to drive 4 hours away to go to the dentist. No one except my family would understand. We finally found a new dentist.

I wonder how this looks on the street with a couple of random thirty year olds chasin down this kid on the street with a camera crew, a mad woman with a pair of scissors and shaver and the kid constantly running away from them 😂😂😂😂😭😭
I'm upset that some people are saying mean and irrelevant things. It isn't their fault for being disabled, even no one's. Mental illnesses can be a tricky topic to understand since different people experience it differently. One thing you can do is support them despite them being 'different'.
He needs some discipline. You can't baby him 24/7. If you act like they can do no wrong then they'll do whatever they want. Autism or not you can be taught manners and to hold still for 5 minutes
@TheEnd unbelievable. Did you really just say that? Even if that were a joke it is unacceptable. How dare you. If you can't understand dont you say horrible things like that. You dont know how hard it is for them. You are the very reason this society has problems with stigmatizing mental illnesses. You know what kind of mindset this is? Hitler even killed off all mentally ill people saying they are a drag on society. Stop dehumanizing them. They are people with rights just like you and me. You are immature. I bet you are like 13 years old and barely learning about social darwinism in your history class or something. That is the most ignorant and sad thing I have heard all day. At least these people have kind hearts and innocent. You have the real defect: a black heart. You jerk. Get some character. Dont be a coward and hide behind a computer screen and keyboard typing out your harmful and dangerous and ignorant views.
Wow, I showed this to an older family member of mine and her response? "Kid needs to be beaten, told to sit his ass down and be made to behave, they don't act like that if you discipline them. The world won't think it cute when he's a teenager who won't shut in class or a jobless bum because he can't behave" ... I'm so glad this hairdresser exists. There's so much cruelty in this world, I'm glad there are a few kind souls out there who make such a difference.
I'm autistic haircuts do not bother me as much but I understand that it can be a really daunting experience for other people on the spectrum and its wonderful to see hairdressers such as Jenine understanding this and being able to accommodate towards this child and other people with autism. If we had more people like Jenine then I think the world would be a much better place.
20 years later, a grown shirtless man running around the streets with a spray bottle being chased by an elderly woman with a shaving kit. "Ouh, calm down boy, won't hurt a wee bit, ye?!"
@@alexdiduk4611 No, people treat autism like it's an incurable disease that makes some completely socially inept. Part of the problem are parents giving up on actually disciplining the child because the doctor says 'they have autism'. This makes autistic children stand out even more as they grow up to be unruly. If it's possible to discipline cats and animals why is it not possible to discipline autistic children?
I’ve seen a lot of “Tie Him Down” comments in the comment section and let me just clarify something, tying a kid to a chair is child abuse. If your gonna say that your better off without having children. The thing is tying him down would just make him scream and cry. This kid is probably sensitive to the razor, I am it annoys me so much.
My little boy visits the barbers little dog and spends the time throwing a ball to her when he gets his haircut :) He’s on the spectrum but is capable of sitting still but still gets anxious so this distraction really helps. Apparently he dog knows when he’s coming now lol

Im amazed at how good a job she did given the boys situation. Goes to show its not a big deal, some kids just need more help and attention than others, and thats why beautiful people like this exist.
There are so many positive comments, I feel so happy, I’ve never felt so happy while watching this at 3 am. I usually see a lot of negative comments on videos about autism.
Well unfortunately some recent comments say like Why are creatures like this allowed to live Hes stupid Tie him down Slap him He world has no sympathy and fail to understand the meaning of autism . Rude and barbaric. I pity anyone with autism
@Gaming Globe What 'anonymous person' means is that the outside world is not accepting of autism and the people are rude and barbaric. Having to deal with that, is hard. So that's why he/she pities the people.
@Gaming Globe I know that :) I have autism as well and go to a house with autistic people every once a week, where we create art and talk about things we like. Some art gets sold, other art belongs to us. I've (and they've) noticed most people with autism have extraordinary talents, so that's why we can go there and use our talents.
@Gaming Globe That's very cool as well, I've studied Pedagogic Work and work as a daycare-teacher : D Good luck with your volutary-work, I hope you are all able to enjoy your talents!
She’s such a sweet person, she goes out of her way to help people with autism, this really just warms my heart. Not only does she do this, she is also extremely patient and kind, she’s amazing ♥️
My son has autism and this is just over the top if you feed the fuel there is no room to move forward or make progress with your child repetition is the key .
So as great as this is, they didn't really explain why autism makes haircuts so challenging. Obviously they imply that there's some correlation of fear and anxiety while trying to get it cut but is it because they're hyperactive and can't hold still? Need to have their mind constantly focused? The noise of the buzzer? They didn't really get into detail as to why it's an actual issue.
Its because it depends person to person! this particular child probably hates sitting down for too long but the loud noise of the buzzer could definitely be an irritant to others. Some autistic people might actually like the sensation of the buzzer.
Tsundasta Yes! Most people are sensitive over stuff like this or they feel satisfied with it. Of course myself I hate the noise of razors and electric toothbrush’s and going to the dentist to remove teeth.
+blaZzinG_FurY Well, most of the people with autism are very sensitive, causing the noises to be very loud and the touches to be very intense. This combined with a stranger touching your face, hair and head and seeing your hair being cut and fall down (which can be frightening to come) is overwhelming. I know people with sharp (fake) nails can be frightening, people with strong perfumes. It all becomes a mix of (unpleasant) feelings and sounds and at some point, there's the last drop and the child will (for lack of a better word here) freak out. People's usual response to the child (if they don't know how to deal with it) is to grab/pinch the child by the wrists and telling it loudly to stop. Which causes two more negative and painful things to be thrown in the mix of everything. Add another upset hairdresser, the echo's of the screaming, the comments of strangers, the upset mother or caretaker and the child will never want to get their hair cut ever again.
I hope this stylist is paid well for her service. I'm being serious

Put on your tinfoil hats everyone.
Nice to finally see someone willing to make a change. I have autism and had to drive 4 hours away to go to the dentist. No one except my family would understand. We finally found a new dentist.
May May #Farmlife my lil brother has autism and he goes to a special hairdresser that also specialize for kids who have disabilities! I love seeing people do this for those who need extra care, I understand what you’re going through, my family has to go through extra lengths to get my brother a hair cut, education, medical treatments and check ups, its hard to find those but i appreciate those who do those stuff!
I wonder how this looks on the street with a couple of random thirty year olds chasin down this kid on the street with a camera crew, a mad woman with a pair of scissors and shaver and the kid constantly running away from them 😂😂😂😂😭😭
Also the thumbnail is frightnin 😂😂😂😂

God Bless that young hairdresser. She understands her clients from heart to heart!
Who would dislike this?! Seriously, some people have no souls! Kudos Janine, you are a shining light with a big heart!
That's amazing. We need more people like this
I'm upset that some people are saying mean and irrelevant things. It isn't their fault for being disabled, even no one's. Mental illnesses can be a tricky topic to understand since different people experience it differently. One thing you can do is support them despite them being 'different'.
That’s rude. Nobody can help being born different
@@truthhurts1988 Excuse me? That is very rude and immature of you.
Jessica Lindstrom you can’t find out if your child has autism while you are pregnant
Ansom wtf, who's doing these subtitles? I bet they're not actually British
I know, but it’s obvious she’s saying “handsome”. Why didn’t they just write that?
It's South-West dialect. I hear it all the time. "Oryte me ansom" is something I hear a lot down here :P
Yours is a stop sign.
"Yours is a stop sign." LOL REKT. That had me saying that in my head over and over and laughing every time.
Everyone here either had no profile pic or a fucked up one.
it's amazing to see someone with so much patience and adaptability who doesn't make us feel difficult, what a wonderful woman
Such a blessed heart. The world needs people like her.
Wow, I showed this to an older family member of mine and her response? "Kid needs to be beaten, told to sit his ass down and be made to behave, they don't act like that if you discipline them. The world won't think it cute when he's a teenager who won't shut in class or a jobless bum because he can't behave"
...
I'm so glad this hairdresser exists. There's so much cruelty in this world, I'm glad there are a few kind souls out there who make such a difference.
Jesus Christ....
Gosh I wonder what your childhood was like with that kind of family
I'm autistic haircuts do not bother me as much but I understand that it can be a really daunting experience for other people on the spectrum and its wonderful to see hairdressers such as Jenine understanding this and being able to accommodate towards this child and other people with autism. If we had more people like Jenine then I think the world would be a much better place.

Good work Jenine 👌🏻👍🏻
Its great to see how patient she is.
she's so sweet, we need more people who are willing to treat all kinds of people like people, and to actually care about them.
My sister has autism and it is nice to know that there are people aswell as her family that care
20 years later, a grown shirtless man running around the streets with a spray bottle being chased by an elderly woman with a shaving kit.
"Ouh, calm down boy, won't hurt a wee bit, ye?!"
Dire Wolf127 He’s not an animal.
But he certainly needs to be raised with more discipline.
Furyflame2 do you have any idea how autism works? It has nothing to do with discipline.
Adrien Miller Yes but it has nothing to do with being treated by an animal either. But yes I agree many people don’t understand that about it.
It's a joke lmao. Chill.
Subtitle says “ansom” when she says handsome glad to see bbc understand their own accents ... 0:19
What a beautiful and heartwarming story...❤️
She is a special women and i send lots of love and well wishes to autistic families
Mad respect for her , love compassion understanding and loving 💁🏻❤️

This makes me really happy. My brother is severely autistic and can get scared when going to new places, so we usually have to cut his hair at home
🌟✨💖 More people need take note, and have more compassion and patience for others, (especially children with autism,) like this woman does. 💖✨🌟

so patient and graceful. props to her.
My little boy visits the barbers little dog and spends the time throwing a ball to her when he gets his haircut :)
He’s on the spectrum but is capable of sitting still but still gets anxious so this distraction really helps.
Apparently he dog knows when he’s coming now lol

Amazing dedication
20 seconds in. She said “Aww he looks ansom. Ansom he looks.” They should have made it “Handsome” on the subtitles.....

Well unfortunately some recent comments say like
Why are creatures like this allowed to live
Hes stupid

He world has no sympathy and fail to understand the meaning of autism . Rude and barbaric. I pity anyone with autism
@Gaming Globe
What 'anonymous person' means is that the outside world is not accepting of autism and the people are rude and barbaric.
Having to deal with that, is hard. So that's why he/she pities the people.
@Gaming Globe
I know that :) I have autism as well and go to a house with autistic people every once a week, where we create art and talk about things we like.
Some art gets sold, other art belongs to us. I've (and they've) noticed most people with autism have extraordinary talents, so that's why we can go there and use our talents.
@Gaming Globe
That's very cool as well, I've studied Pedagogic Work and work as a daycare-teacher : D Good luck with your volutary-work, I hope you are all able to enjoy your talents!

My son has autism and this is just over the top if you feed the fuel there is no room to move forward or make progress with your child repetition is the key .
Thank you for saying that and being respectful with how you said it. I agree with you 100%
drstraange my kid has autism she hates repetition
*I* have autism and I don't get what is so daunting.
autism is a spectrum jfc, not every autistic kid has the same needs
THANK YOU
So as great as this is, they didn't really explain why autism makes haircuts so challenging.
It can also be a personal space thing, even now if some people go really close to me all of a sudden i don't freak out but i feel intimiated
+blaZzinG_FurY
Well, most of the people with autism are very sensitive, causing the noises to be very loud and the touches to be very intense.
She is wonderful ❤️
Who disliked? This is a great act of kindness i always have the worst barbers.
