The S-Type exhaust on the Mini Cooper S sounds fantastic. I've had it on for 3 days now and I love it. No drone, loud pops in sport mode, and fantastic notes. This video shows the installation process and several short sound clips of the 2015 F56 with exhaust as opposed to the stock exhaust.

Update (9/16/18) it's been over 2.5 years with this exhaust setup and I still love every single exhaust pop and cold-starts in the morning make my day.
does automatic have pop?
@@yeomama6546 I just installed the same exhaust on mine (2015 F56) and I can confirm that it does in Sport mode, especially in M/S (manual) mode: wait to shift around 3500-4000 RPM like he says, or when you're downshifting.
Did you replace just the muffler or the entire exhaust system?

just installed the #11915 muffler. No cat removal. Just what I was looking for, sounds perfect. $60 at the local muffler shop. Air intake stage 2 next. tx again SIGI.

Sounds dope! I just got the jcw tuning kit and got some pretty good gains. I have a 4 door mini cooper s thunder Grey automatic, you should look into nm engineering power module get some really good power for a really good price!

How would you describe the change in interior sound levels? I am considering this option or full cat-back, but don't want to increase the interior noise too much. I put a cat-back on my previous Mini and it drove my wife crazy with the noise.
+John DeJarnatt in MID mode it's not much louder, most of my friends didn't notice and then in Sport mode it gets to be such a blast. Barely drones and the backfire sounds greats

Great sound with the borla, but it doesn't look like it's on perfectly straight, the right pipe looks slightly lower than the left. Would drive me nuts lol.
Thank you! At what point in the video are you seeing that? I'm pretty OCD about things being straight I haven't noticed it once. Have spent lots of time taking photos of the rear of my Mini and have never caught it.
At 3:41, it might just be shadows, or my eyes. Great video by the way.

In terms of a percentage estimate how much louder is the backfire? Just got my f56 the other day and I love the stock exhaust but I do want it louder, the jcw and remus are just so expensive and im not sure if I should get a borla or quicksilver instead.
Hi Koran, unfortunately I don’t even remember what the stock pops sound like but I’d say it’s about twice as loud now. You can really hear them from the driver’s seat. I’m really happy with this setup, especially since I got an intake after this video was filmed.
I know this is kind of late but I know the muffler is welded on the original exhaust so it has to be cut but when putting the bolts do you have to weld it or do you think you could get a clamp to clamp it?

+Alfonso Tejeda changing the full exhaust system probably 20ish horsepower but I honestly don't know. This system probably gave about 10+ and if you get a JB4 tune it'll be a whole new car.

Hey bro so I understand you’ve got a JB4 on your mini. Do you run it on Map 2 even though you have the stock downpipe ?
I don’t have any 93 octane gas around here so I only ran Map 1. Email burger tuning and ask them, should be fine on map 2 with stock down pipe as long as you have 93 OCT or higher.
Are you looking to get a JB4 or already got one?
Should I Get It I’ve had the JB4 on my car for a week now. Pretty happy running it with Map 1, I do put 93 OCT on my mini so I’m guessing I should be fine. Emailing Burger just to make sure. BTW I ordered the Borla S-Type just because of your video, thanks a lot for the help!

Yeah it is legal in California! I didn't have to smog test this car as it was a lease but both the catalytic converters are still in the car so it should pass without issue :) Thanks for watching!

I was talking more like road noise, not the borla. The interior is so fucking loud especially at 60 mph, I can't even hear any exhaust noise at all - could you before the borla?

The stock pirellis - its now in the shop, turns out wheel bearings were shot. Should be way better now, Borla goes in tomorrow!
Borla installed today - at first thought it was a bit loud But it wss just initial shock. I fucking love it, sound is so cool. Thanks - your video made me go with the Borla

Has this mod affected the factory warranty in anyway. I especially wonder about the systems where the entire exhaust is replaced.
+Mogamad Armien Arnold haven't taken it in for service since the install. Will let you know in a few thousand miles. Gonna do the 10k mile tune up. Hopefully no issues.

Should I Get It , I will....moonwalk grey no stripes, JCW int.& ext. package.
1) Would it void your warranty?
2) Horsepower increase? If so, by how much.
1) I don't believe it voided my warranty as I still get regular service at my dealer without any issues.
2) I did not dyno test the car before/after so I don't have numbers for you but it definitely felt and sounded faster. Probably a 5-10hp gain.
Now I have this exhaust, a Cravenspeed intake, and JB4 tune so the car is making close to 40hp+ over stock.
Sounded like it blew off, do you have a bov on it if so how did you install my gf just got a 2017 mini Cooper s and she badly wants a bov

@@shouldigetit awesome thank you we just did a muffler delete on my gfs for now but she wants it louder so we'll probably lose the 2nd cat and resonator maybe add a muffler at the end but keep the rest free. Then I told her we need to do an air intake because first thing she said when buying this is that she wants a bov so its sounds like my Suzuki cappuccino lol
