This piece has everything.... feel, drama, suspense, variety, mood variation, melody, uniqueness... composition wise it's as good as it gets. Excellently played also 10/10
Celil Refik Kaya‘s performance of Gismonti’s 'Agua e Vinho' is exquisite. And, the tone of this 1969 Ramirez is magnificient. I hope we may continue to hear recordings of its incredible beauty.
Holy shit this is very breath taking for me, literally brought tears to my eyes, I never thought I would ever hear one of Maestro Segovias guitar just wow and kaya beautiful piece to play really love it first time hearing of him.
Not everyone likes the Ramirez...I have a 1971 1a made by the same luthier, MT, as Segovia's. It is a beast and requires some courage to play it fully...Like stepping into a Formula 1. This guitarist is qualified, and takes it further and deserves this guitar.
Beautiful performance of my arrangement on a magnificent instrument. Too bad the folks at Guitar Saloon didn’t inform who the arranger in the video description (though viewers were kind enough to clarify that in the comments). I hope Guitar Saloon will have it fixed.
@@weefeatures Thank you very much. There's still the second 'f' missing from my last name, but that's easily fixable. Thanks for the correction, Guitar Salon International :-)
I am trying to learn this song, but i cant find any tab for it. I would just get your score from the site but, the sad thing is i cant read music, but im at the skill level of learning this. Is the download purely sheet music or is there tab for it?
Beautiful work you did here. I don't know how you did it (I know it's hard)Arranging for solo guitar is very dificult. I think is more hard than piano because of the nature of the instrument. Piano you can write something on paper and know it's possible to play. Guitar in other hand It depends of the chord voicings you use and diferent tunings when needed. I'm not telling it's easy to arrange for piano(arranging is hard work). I'm just naming a few problems we may find when we try to do that on guitar. Anyway. Great job man! 👏
Nail shape and strings are factors that affect the tone less than the way the nails touch the strings. Not the same playing at the end of the guitar than in the hole, not the same apoyando than mindlessly playing without thinking in the tone, etc. For instance, the sweetest tone is achieved playing without nails, check out Cesar Amaro's channel. This is coming from a classical guitarist.
Gabriel Pazos The sound of classical guitar without nails is extremely quiet and muffled... Man I play steel string and classical. I am telling you, the only way to achieve a great tone on classical guitar is to shape your nails and buff them to be smooth of imperfection, and use a balance of nail and flesh. Strings are a tremendous factor, by the way. I challenge you to use ball ended martin strings to achieve this tone. Would not happen.

Very beautiful performance 👌🏼. Nice subtle dynamics; great tone; clear sounding notes (not only the melody, but also the counterpoint lines in the bass part), and above all: showcasing superb feel ! The only thing I miss is the first repeat of the main theme (that is: after bar 17/18 back to bar 3 before continuing from bar 19 on).
Extraordinary playing, both hands are superb. I wonder if the composer called for the whole piece to be played over the sound hole? A little painful to watch in that I too owed a 1969 concert Ramirez, hand picked by Segovia (my roommate in Spain was his nephew). Looked and sounded identical to this one. Unfortunately it was stolen. As they say, sea lo que sea.
I'm 2 years late, but... This piece was originally played on the piano, with lyrics. It was arranged for the guitar by Daniel Wolff. I believe playing it in the sound hole was a choice by Celil, and i think it suited the softness of the original melodies with the strong and smooth bass notes.
Can someone tell me if it was the arranger who wrote the part starting at 1:20? It's not in the original song by Egberto Gismonti, so where did it come from?
The original score is available here: danielwolff.com/dw/music-scores-articles/ The musescore link from another comment not only has mistakes, but doesn’t provide Mr. Gismonti his due credits.
Besides the fact that this piece is just heartbreaking and played so wonderfully, I am surprised how short his right hand nails are. Got to try shorter nails I guess. If one could save hours of filing and worrying of splits and breaks that would be awesome :)
Tarrega played without nails...I find it requires more upward pull on the strings, and creates a different sound...Right hand nails would never survive for me anyway...

for sure. Sounds much better on Classical guitar imo

goosebumps. every single time. my new favourite guitar piece, player and instrument.
Celil is one of the best. Very thoughtful expression in this piece from him.
Gismondi is highly underrated composer and performer. So, many interesting harmonies. He's also a proficient pianist, too.

Uma das mais belas canções do brasileiríssimo Gismonti. 🇧🇷
This is absolutely a mind-blowing performance, I am looking forward to listening to Celil's new records

Horrível letra. Geraldo Carneiro é um grande poeta. Mas essa letra é um erro colosasal. Numa música que exigia a perfeição.
I absolutely love your playing. Every video of you is fantastic!
Just saw him play live this weekend. He is amazing. This is a fine example.
Ah, ...how beautiful. There is really no other instrument than the guitar that can bring out this richness in color and immediate intimacy.
Beautiful playing and lovely guitar - gorgeous arrangement of this piece.
Never heard such gorgeous haunting music . So beautiful . Thank you for sharing ! 3:46
So incredeably beatiful!
What a wonderful interpretation!
Belíssima interpretação! Parabéns! Grata por compartilhar
This Ramirez has a dark and warm sound, with a very sweet treble and deep bass notes ,lovely.
Celil pours out what he can in honour of the water and the wine. Me? I`m in tears.
What a tone!! Superb! 👍👍👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

oh my God this is the most beautiful of Gismonti...Kaya is a great talent as well..
Beautiful playing and that Ramirez guitar has a superlative tone.
The guitar is great, but please, give all the credit to the guitarist for that tone.
That's ridiculous. A good player will extract the best from a good guitar, but there will always be both fine guitars and ordinary ones, surely?
Gabriel Pazos not entirely true. Nail shape and strings and the guitar are the factors that affect tone. This is coming from a classical guitarist.

beautiful tone and playing...what kind of strings are set on this guitar?
I had d'addario on my Ramirez but they were too metallic/tinny. I use Hannabach Goldin hi tension.

Anyone has sheets or tabs for this?
What brand, type and tension of tension of strings are on this Ramirez?
It appears that they usually use D’addario high tension.
Is the a video lesson for this?

Anyone else get a Circa Survive vibe from this?
is it a guitar from Paolino Bernabé M5?
Does anyone know who arranged this piece??

Agua e Vinho sounds more natural and less ' strained ' played on the piano, on the guitar it always comes across as hard work .
O arranjo é do Sérgio Assad
