nice job rookie! :) Spec spec spec. Good to see someone taking the time to learn and apply it correctly.
Nice videos makes me wanna build my 4.8
Great video again Jim!!!
I believe you could have used a larger/full length LS3 style windage tray without issue. It covers the #1-2 journals instead of the shorter early LS1 style you used. I doubt it makes much difference though. Edit: I didn't want to forget to tell you how great this video series is. Fantastic work man.
This one was free!
hello that gasket of heads used
Hey Jim where did you buy the engine block and what manual are you using as a reference to build it ?
truck salvage parts yard. Book is in this video ua-cam.com/video/PwAO6Mj01IM/v-deo.html
Ah putting lifters in before being done with the bottom end been there done that....... Good Job though and good video.......But when yoiu are doing an instructional video you need to stop using the fast forward so much at least at the beginning of each new step show the process.......
Your supposed to use oil not wd40 to lube your engine
I used oil and then WD just to coat the dry areas.
Jim knows what's up. You can use WD-40 as a fogging oil to keep things lightly coated. I have had a disassembled LS3 sitting in my living room for the last year and a half fogged with WD-40 and it still looks great inside. Just don't use it in place of a proper assembly lube.
