They can be seen as vigilantes because they are punishing people with the public exposure. They aren't hurting people physically, though DAP started slapping predators, so never mind. There you go. Maybe vigilante work can be done in better and worse ways and is not totally objectionable. But it is vigilante stuff. Few things qualify as vigilantism and this one of those few things. It's not violent and it is a of a public nature that makes it seem like journalism. And it's partly journalism, but again, the intent is to punish people, and to deter others from doing the same thing. So it is doing what the police do in some sense. The police are very busy, so it's not necessarily a bad thing. But a lot of people are very unprofessional in doing it. And innocent people have actually been murdered by pedo hunters in the UK. I would say DON'T support all local pred catchers. Vladmir Putin lied about Boris Yeltsen being a child predator. That's how he got into power. Don't be so easily fooled behind the powerful distraction of pedophilia. Most pred hunters are problematic. DAP = assault. Colorado = lying about nonprofit status, state will not take his cases anymore. Poachers = dude is a psychopathic racist I don't care what else he does. Anxiety War = creep with Nazi paraphernalia. Skeeter Jean = narcissist who only cares about being a UA-camr. CC Unit = prick who tries hard to entice preds to get views, doesn't seem to have a soul. Brain better.
