@@otakudaikun while Geis/Geas are never shown to be like that in fate, they very well could to a certain extent, in many myths they are imposed on others hence the curse/gift nature because if followed you would gain power but they are a command or prohibition. the implication being that at least in certain situations it doesn't need the will of one party to be imposed on them. the only time we see one used it's specifically a SELF Geas scroll, where both parties are willingly binding themselves to a contract. Based off the name you could reason normal geas could be imposed on others unconsensually hence the curse aspect. That being said its likely that you would need to fulfill certain conditions to do so, or maybe need to be significantly stronger so it wouldn't be resisted, it may have weaker consequences etc.... or maybe it would just be that modern mages couldn't impose them without consent due to the difference in mages between modern/other eras.
Isn't the point of a geis is that it's taken on voluntaraly? Gil would have you skewered before you say 'your majesty'. Plus as a master you have command seals that can do exactly that.

I hated what Maia did, even though Kayneth and Sola were scumbags. What really irked me was making Lancer kill himself in the middle of a great duel with Saber. Kinda hoped Saber would cut Maia in half for her treachery.
Her knight did it while kidnapping irisviel so our kinda got your wish. Just shows how much of a failure of a king saber truly was with her people as said by gilgamesh and ishkander.

Were saber went wrong is that she tried to be the perfect king, wich she was, but that ironically that made her knights see her as inhuman. Gilgamesh and iskandar have very different veiws on kingship because they didn't try to be that ideal king they just did what they wanted and were larger than life personalitys.

The anime adaptation for zero made it look like saber was in the wrong which she wasnt. The only one I felt bad for is kayneth I felt less bad for dirimud every time I saw zero as he is a worse lancleot to a less treated well Irish Arthur and him and saber were so self absorb with honor as he cried crying like a child. The curse is fake btw nobody cares for it as angra is the only one to fear in the grail. Kayneth shows he cared more about Sola ui than she did of him even before the mark with dirimud came up and El mellioi series is great in fleshing out his story as a family that was close to falling into ruin because the crest was destroyed Also take note that the magus association loves the grail war as it kills off heads of the houses and without succesors they just take the money and land like kirie did to Rin and what almost happened to rines if not for waver.
