    I got this yesterday and it’s wonderful. I’m not looking at numbers and frequency shapes I’m just moving knobs and hearing things. My mixes already sound way better, I’m shocked.

    What we need is then when paired with a UF8, when you select a channel on the UF8, it should become focus on the UC1, it would make things even faster.

      I use Logic and It does do this. Just need to select the channel link icon in the plug-in window of the channel strip 2 plug-in.
      I’m sure it’s a similar process in other DAWs.

    I think what is important about this only controlling the plugins it comes with (making it a very good deal as the plugin almost costs this much) is that it works without fail, controllers controlling many things often falls short on the mass of plugin control.
    Also, you do really want to not have a bucket load of plugins as your main workhorses.
    I'm thinking of this, the UF8 as the workhorses and the SoftTube Console 1 for my specialty adjustments.
    The MidiFighter Twister being there for good measure of a few other things

      Yea I’m thinks about having uc1 first in the chain for ssl eq and console 1 second for 1176 and if I need a pultect (not normally afterwards but whatever) I use my console 1 with UAD plugins

    To be honest I don't see any benefits using this controller , I can navigate thru my DAW much faster with a mouse. Jumping from channel to channel just to touch a tiny knob... No way I'm paying a $1000 for this toy.

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Рік тому

      Hey, Kayden! No, you can’t use that as a hardware processor unfortunately. The UC1 is solely a plug-in controller, so the only cabling on the unit it just USB, which sends the control information.
      I hope this helps!

      I bought the Console1 when it first came out for $1,000. This is a good deal. I’m definitely going to get a UC1 after watching this. Console1 is cool, but for my workflow, the UC1 will smoke the Console1.

  • @CipriPopescu

    It would be so nice if SSL could release a “pro” or “deluxe” version of UC1. I love the workflow, layout, plug-in sound, but the built-quality of UC1 gives me migrenes. I must be careful not to sneeze or tap the desk, because the knobs might change values themselves. It happened. I would reaaaaally love a controller with the exact same sturdy feel as the console 💙

This current product is just a new dirty way to make money.

      Hello, Nicolas! The beauty of mixing is that it is an artform. There aren’t many hard and fast rules! I suggest doing all necessary cuts and edits to the audio regions themselves before instantiating plug ins. I typically EQ and compress tracks before doing any kind of modulation or time-based effects like chorus or reverb. But again, that’s not an unbreakable rule. Trust your judgement. At the end of the day, if it sounds good it is good.

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  2 роки тому

      Hey, Tom. Thanks for reaching out! The SSL UC1 does not work with Waves or UA Plug-Ins. This unit requires the SSL 360 Software which only allow first-party SSL Plug-Ins to be loaded within it. I hope this helps, but if you have any other questions feel free to reach out. Thanks and have a great day!
