No problem picking Bo Nix in the first round. If you think he is your guy...go get him and be done with it. Nothing wrong with check downs. Check downs get you first downs, first downs get you touch downs. Even if he is an average QB in the NFL, Sean Payton will make him an above average QB.
Boy Howdy, I can relate to your guest, who frankly you should have join you often. Anybody who digs football, punk rock and dive bar music experiences is in my camp. Thanks brothers, you're appreciated.
Given the fact that the next QB wasn't taken for over 100 picks, would the Broncos have drafted one at all if Nix was gone by 12? Seems every team passed for 3 rounds before thinking the next QB was worthy.
Comparison with Baker is spot on. And in the case of Nix, he is going to get a lot better coaching for sure. Denver needed a QB and really had no choice but to either take Nix or trade up. Trading up would have cost 2025 1st round pick. So I understand the decision.
I don't get this media critique of Bo due to him throwing too many screen passes. Effective screen passes can be deadly to a defense if the receiver can run after the catch. Screens are also effective at countering pass rushes.

Cec... I'm sensing a little Fandom for Broncos and our next franchise QB! 😂🧡💙

Love having your journalist pals on as guests. Who else should Broncos fans follow?

If that had occurred, I would hope the Broncos would have taken Joe Milton in the 5th round. Amazing physical talent and huge potential upside.

john Elway once said, I am paraphrasing, "In the NFL you get paid for 3rd down"
