    Huge thanks. I had never used a sewing machine but this tutorial was so easy and I was able to make a fault themed jumpsuit for my boyfriend the day fallout was released. It took 16 hours and I had a lot of mess ups, but it turned out alright for my first time. Again, thank you for making one of the easiest tutorials online on how to make a onesie. P.S I did end up using 2.5 yards for my boyfriend who is 6'0 ft and a little on the bigger side.

    I'm sitting here in my brand new onesie thanks to you. I had wanted some for years and, even though I've been sewing for over a decade, didn't know it was this easy to do. Yours was the first tutorial I saw that let me know it was possible.
    I'm tall so I shied away from buying one knowing it wouldn't fit me comfortably. Now I've made three for this winter and it's helping with the cold here immensely.
    Thank you again.

    I made one yesterday for a costume using this tutorial - it came out perfect!
    So much easier and quicker than I thought something like that would take.

    The way you say "crotch" so innocently, is adorable. Thank you for this! I'm trying to start making clothes, because it seems it would be cheaper to just buy fabric, and make everything.

    I am a brand new sewer. I have only done practice stitching so far. I started a shopping bag thinking that would be super simple. I was wrong. On Black Friday I bought bunches of material including the one you did this onsie with. I'm so excited! At the rate I'm going I should be able to tackle a onsie sometime in January. 2016. Sigh. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent!

    great tutorial. How would you cut the front pieces differently in order to extend the zipper all the way down one leg. I have made many for granddaughter , but we are potty training now and a longer zipper would be nice. cant quite figure it out. dont want to waste fabric. I made my own pattern, but I am stuck. any suggestions?

    What is the benefit to cutting and sewing the arms separately? If you fabric is big enough, could you keep the sleeves on the original fabric? Or is there a reason that would not work?

    • @HimeGabi
      @HimeGabi 8 років тому

      +melaniew1977 Fabric usually comes in 44", 54", or 60" and that's not quite wide enough to cut out the sleeves with the bodice as well unless you are making something for a child.

    Can you do a tutorial for different pin cushions. I like to have one on a mason jar for a sewing kit. I would like to know how to make a mini one for separate projects. Maybe a wrist one? or different ideas? It would be nice to have 5 or 6 pin cushions to organize with my projects.

    you're so talented^_^ Question: How do you position the camera when you film the sewing machine? Also, Do you make one first before you film the tutorial? Or just film as you make it the first time? Do you plan how you're gonna narrate it and say it in your head as you're demonstrating? Your vids are so clear and to the point :-)

      thank you! great questions! :) 1. i always use a tripod and i just face it towards the sewing machine next to the table :) 2. a lot of my tutorials are me doing them for the first time :D 3. i just film it and when i edit the clips, i add voice overs last and i just say it following the video (i don't write them down before hand or anything) :)…thank you!

    Question the way you sewed it was front and back with the same reference can you do left and right like if you trace the left side instead of making a front can that be just one side front back and same for right side and then sew them together ik that’s more sewing but does that also work and the measurements stay the same the reason I ask is I wanna make one half a different color

    • @craftyamy93
      @craftyamy93  10 років тому

      monquiturdle just trace a hood of a sweater :) and same way sewing the front expect sew buttons and button holes instead of the zipper, but a zipper is so much faster to sew on, and not that difficult ;)

    Thank you for your wonderful video. I am trying to make a one piece pajama outfit in leopard for my Halloween Costume (because I am 7 months pregnant and not much else will work and keep me warm for walking around with my little ones.) Do you have any recommendations for making it to maternity size? I was thinking I would just make the front of the tummy longer, and putting a pleated line or stretch below the breast area. But any other information would be really helpful. Also, I am expecting but I am a small women anyways, so even a large fits most of the time if its long enough to cover the belly.

    Hey CRAFTYAMY - can you tell me why you make a separate cuff at the ankle for the stretch to go in rather than just folding the bottom of the leg over?

      So it stays put and won't slide up to your upper legs when going in bed haha but you can do it either way :)

      Ooops sorry maybe my question wasn't clear. I meant - why make the cuffs separately and then attach them to the legs? I know nothing about sewing and in a bit of an impulsive bet I said I'd make one for my Mother for Christmas - She said "You make it - I'll wear it!" and here I am with a week to go and I've almost started. I might have to give it to her in kit form - :)

      +Nimbus3100 I made one where I made a cuff and one where I put elastic in the folded under part.
      There is no difference in what you do really. It's the same outcome.

    Hi! These are my favorite type of pajamas. PajamaGram.com has a gray swearshirt looking one that I want soo badly but it is over $70. I've tried to follow your video, but it seems that I'm clearly not that crafty. What's a suggestion to help me so I can replicate this adorable look and fantastic video? Thanks!! Amy H. in NY.

      i would say maybe practice sewing, look/study how jackets and sweats are made, plan it in your head how you would make it, you can also watch my video several times and pause a lot to understand it better :) i feel like that would help a lot :)
