This is brilliant ! Light entertainment how it used to be. If I had only heard the voice and not seen who it was, I would have said that it really was Cilla Black !
Clodgh is a great talent as a mimic :) I knew her a little as my boyfriend back in 1980 played drums in the band for her and Mike Yarwood in their Summer Season in Cleethorpes.
Never heard Cilla talk really only sing . Love her music . I just re recorded save me by Clodagh . Great impression any way even though I haven't heard cilla talk slot of fun . Sydney Australia 🦘🦘🦘 19/12/2023❤❤❤😊
Clodagh Rogers. Very talented (hense the spot on impression of Cilla Black ) lady. My favourite songs by Clodagh are Jack In A Box and You Are My Music.
Yes, absolutely. Mind you, Northern Irish and Scouse are incredibly linked. Clo's husband was a Scouser too and she was good pals with Jimmy Tarbuck et al. Not pals with Cilla tho!
Love it. Yarwood although not the greatest impreshionist had great facial movement and captured a large audience for a long period of time. Great days and innocence with a capital I
FANTASTIC CLODAGH RODGERS SHE DIDN'T HAVE THE HITS THAT CILLA BLACK HAD BECAUSE BRIAN EPSTEIN PUSHED CILLA HE HAD THE INFLUENCE CLODAGH WAS A MUCH BETTER SINGER SHE WAS A FAN OF ALMA COGAN WHEN SHE WAS YOUNG
I never found Mike Yarwood funny and his impersonations less then convincing. The new breed of Impersonators who came later Rory Bremner, Steve Coogan, Jon Culshaw etc blew Mike out of the water. imho
53 years at the TOP ? - slight exaggeration ! .... for someone who sounded like a fog horn (on a good day !) Clodagh 10 times the singer ... & looker !
@@johncollingwood7889 the official records show Cillas success lasted 53 years. She was given a top rated tribute on ITV in 2013 celebrating 50 years and released a hits collection which became a platinum disc.I accept your right to dislike her but to deny her success is unfair.I like Clodagh but her career was relatively shortlived .Facts are facts. We all have different tastes and I would never deny anyone the right to their personal opinions. To each his own.Cheers John.

Spot on impression of Cilla and it left me wondering how Cilla felt about this bit. It's brilliant and Clodagh is amazingly accurate.
A little gem, put a smile on my face - thank you for the post.
That was lovely. Thanks for uploading.
It's a wonderful impression of Cilla. I bet Cilla chocked when she saw that, lol. Clodagh is just great and deserves to be rediscovered.
Fabulous impersonation from Clodagh! Well done!
I love Clodagh, she's great as Cilla!
lol... what a great impression from Clodagh.. I thought she had it 99%right, even Cilla's dodgy scouse accent..
She is brilliant .
Spot on impression of Cilla! Yarwood was great too! Clodagh was a beauty!
Revisited this last seen an age ago, how good is Clodagh, brilliant job on Cilla
Thanks Ian for sharing this classic clip of Clodagh!
She was and still is a great mimic!...RET
Hi Kezren, Well, in the 70s, that was pretty much as Cilla spoke. It's incredibly accurate. So much so, that Cilla wasn't that pleased . . .
a clodagh spectacular with lots of impersonations as well as music, is long overdue, miss r. is so very, very underrated. thanks for this ian.
I have Clodagh's show from 1974 which has Cilla, Marlene and Dotty Squires impressions featured!
Agree..Clodagh was a very underrated performer
Would love to see that
What a great impression of Cilla
euronick61 Pretty spot on I'd say!

Never seen this before and have to say it's brilliant, more like Cilla than Cilla !!! Quite a talent eh.
Clodagh is a very good mimic and also did Marlene Dietrich, Dorothy Squires, Sandie Shaw, Vera Lynn, and Gracie Fields!
Brilliant stuff by both. Had me laughing out loud.
I had no idea she was such a good impressionist :)
Wow I've never heard Clodagh Rodgers do impressions before. She's brilliant did she do any others?
Always good to see Mike Yarwood, but nice to see a different side to Clodagh, too.
Brilliant.
A brilliant impression.

Wow if you close your eyes you would think that was Cilla !
Clodagh rodgers a great entertainer always on the two ronnies shows as well as des o connor super singer
Priceless
This is very amusing.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Mike Yarwood was the man. Brilliant impersonator.
no that was Bruce and Frankie
Brilliant impression of cilla
Whata brilliant piss-take.! In the end Cilla's the one that made tho.
Mike Yarwood,RIP,the original proper impressionist.
She was hilarious! I wasn't expecting it to be so good. Upstaged Mike Yarwoods Bruce Forsyth.
That's brilliant - very close to sounding like Cilla - except at 00:58-59 - that's her native Northern Irish coming through there.
Yes, absolutely. Mind you, Northern Irish and Scouse are incredibly linked. Clo's husband was a Scouser too and she was good pals with Jimmy Tarbuck et al. Not pals with Cilla tho!
..not only sounds like Cilla, she looks like her too 👀❗️😂😂😂
Pretty good impression
What a talent?

I agree Gary. I would call him an impersonator. He didn't have the vocal skill of others, but he managed to get the bodily inflections just right.
Christine Holmes as Sandie Shaw is pretty good too.
Clodagh's impression of Cilla is a darn sight better than Mike Yarwood's in general.........
It's all fun 😂 not to take it to heart💖 folks ..
She had a better singing voice than Cilla.
FANTASTIC CLODAGH RODGERS SHE DIDN'T HAVE THE HITS THAT CILLA BLACK HAD BECAUSE BRIAN EPSTEIN PUSHED CILLA HE HAD THE INFLUENCE CLODAGH WAS A MUCH BETTER SINGER SHE WAS A FAN OF ALMA COGAN WHEN SHE WAS YOUNG
well Cilla Black would not be best pleased would she? probably a bit too accurate.......
it illustrates just how false Mrs Black was.
she was in fact a much better singer than Cilla
Concur completely!
..That's not hard
Are you fucking joking
About what John?
I never found Mike Yarwood funny and his impersonations less then convincing. The new breed of Impersonators who came later Rory Bremner, Steve Coogan, Jon Culshaw etc blew Mike out of the water. imho
Yarwood was cursed with poor material aimed at a 'family' audience. The ones that followed did better, but he inspired many of them.
What utter nonsense ! Mike is Britain's greatest impressionist.
I can't see the point myself
Well, I suppose that was the script writers ideas it being on a show about impersonation. . . ?
Clodagh is completely flat chested.
jezebel892 So was Cilla!
jezebel892 that's absolutely NOTHING to do with her very accurate impression of Cilla. Cilla would take it for what it was...comedy !!
@@IanBelsey Absolutely !
She disappeared after a couple of years real success.Obviously not going to emulate Cillas 53 years at the top!!
