By the way, if anyone is wondering why there is a gap in the timeline (at 0:58), she was sold and remaned in 1970 to 'Mykinai' however I cant seem to find a single photo of her under this name so I decided to leave it out (at least until a photo of her as the 'Mykinai' surfaces). :)
Amazing first episode! So glad these will make my upcoming film "Oceanos: A Sinking Analysis". They are magnificent recreations of how Oceanos ex Jean Laborde looked, along with her sisters. Keep up the amazing work Henry!
This is an absolute masterwork! Thank you for posting; there are so many ships and classes worthy of your attention! I would love to see you do “Regal Empress” (ex-“Olympia”), a beautiful old ocean liner I got to sail on once before scrapping. She was one of the (if not the) oldest liners in service before her retirement due to SOLAS requirements related to wood and combustibles in her structure.
Apologies for the late reply, thank you so much! I have already started doing the Olympia as she is one of my favourite ships! In fact I will be doing many older rebuilds like this such as the Stockholm/Astoria. I'm really sorry for the late reply but thank you very much for your support!
Flotta Lauro didnt own her outright, she was only chartered by them briefly. She was still owned by Epirotiki who also supervised her rebuild. She was rebuilt just before she was chartered by Flotta.
@@randomuser9883 I dont know for sure. I know she was rebuilt to try and 'modernise' her as her design was fairly dated by the late 70s but I dont know why they decided to wait. Could be a number of reasons, maybe they didnt deem it necessary at the time. I always though she looked her best after her final rebuild.
Hi there, PRETTY AWESOME ARTWORKS! Just in case, did you eventually have any renderings (or blueprints) from the Epirotiki´s vessel named as "MTS ATLANTIS" (ex "MTS Adonis") ?

Beautiful work Henry!

Me and my wife was on her last voyage back from Capetown to Durban when she sank in July 1991
these are very detailed drawings, nice
So it was flotto lauro lines that rebuild and gave the oceanos a new look

Oh okay
@@HFBmarine but why didn’t epirotiki not rebuild the ship immediately after they purchased her than?

@@HFBmarine As far as I am aware the "final rebuild" was done by Epirotiki just prior to being sold/chartered to Lauro Lines.

Do you know where I could find photos of the Pierre Loti as the Olympia, Patra, Chrysovalandou 2, and Eros?
Never knew she had sisters
