I wish someone would make a video of a ship going to the bottom of the ocean and being colonized by sea life, sea growths, and slowly collapsing and desintigrating from corrosion.

This one benefited from not being in contact with as much water as other wrecks, so she didn’t erode away as fast.

not even steel can resist the unforgiving passage of time.

This is why Ships last longer underwater, but there some exceptions like MS World Discoverer.

We have a simmilar incident ongoing on the coast of Cork at the moment. MV Alta washed up without a crew in 2020, and wasn't too far off from this ship in terms of size. Since then, she has already broken in too, makes constant groaning noises and really feels like she's on the verge of further collapse.

seeing the entire ship just basically vanish within 9 years after staying relatively intact for so long will never not shock me incredible work as always my friend!

I know a lot of you are waiting for the SS American Star video, dont worry its coming, just taking longer than I expected. So in the meantime I finished off this one. A couple of things I never mentioned in the video: Her name 'ELINA' slowly faded from her bow revealing her old embossed name 'SEMIRAMIS' underneath. I sadly dont have any photographs of the wreck between 1997 and 2003 so I had to do a bit of guesswork as to her condition during that period. I also dont know the exact year of the superstructure fire, it might be 1999 but I dont know for sure. And not sure what happened to the starboard anchor, it doesnt appear in any early wreck photos, even the one from 1996 (its not the one lashed on deck as thats a spare). Thanks again for watching! :)

I first went in 1994 didn't think much of it, sea was rough and cold and beach was painful to walk on.
