- In Gatwick officers stop two Lithuanians acting suspiciously. The men are x-rayed and inside their stomachs they are each carrying 50 packages of cocaine. An unlucky Mark has the dirty job of waiting for the evidence to emerge. In Manchester, a man is caught with 8 kilos of cannabis in his hand luggage. He is also burping, a sign he may have swallowed drugs as well.
In Gatwick and Bristol Airports in England customs agents check baggage and travellers to uphold allowances and prevent illicit activity and substances from entering the UK.

My ex father in law was caught smuggling cocaine in france, they discovered it searching the saddle bags of his motorbike after being stopped for going 210 km/h on the highway. I always thought like hed probably gotten away with it if he didnt do such a ridiculous speed 🤦♂️

There’s no way of telling their provenance or quality, or even their safety. Cigarettes found being sold on the black market which were tested have shown everything from higher levels of lead and cadmium to contamination from rat droppings and industrial chemicals. Alcohol has the same issue in that many countries’ commercial products may not be of the same quality as the UK, and again contamination is also a potential problem, including with pure methanol and even anti-freeze. Fake alcohol is also a thing, and many countries are not as strict about their trading standards practices as the UK either.
they probably can't prove the person did not tamper with them. But I hear ya. One time in the Philippines they caught a bunch of expensive cars imported illegally. basically the tax to do so is about the same as the car value. so they smuggle them in . Duterte had a bunch of them and to punish them, he destroyed them. That's so stupid. Auction them off, and use the funds to run the government (customs). It's stupid. We are talking like bugati's.

Couldn't say. I met a customers person once, but it wasn't in an aiport. I was on holiday in the Dominican Republic, I met a cute British guy there (I'm Canadain), he said he was there alone, we had a fling....couple days later, I ran into him on the beach with his British Girlfriend!!! As a person that uses large candles, and a lot of them, for religious and spiritual reasons and knows how expensive they can be, I would be so mad if they were to break my candles like that! That being said, I know they have to do their jobs.
My assumption is that they were scanned using an X-ray and showed up inconsistencies, which if it’s a solid candle shouldn’t be the case.
Plus even if you’re using them for a religious purpose then you would be unlikely to have 7 unless it was a set or came with something like a Chanukah candlestick.

People might not stand on street corners, but you can easily find that there exists illegal alcohol, including stolen, fake and generally unsafe alcohol. Why are the not wearing gloves..
The guys that got caught with cocaine because they didn't have any luggage reminds me of basic training. In the air force during week 6 of basic training you go out to a simulated deployed environment where you sleep in a temporary camp. There were several hundred of us and only 3 working showers. They have us 45 minutes to shower and told us they we all HAVE TO SHOWER no excuses. But also if we went over the 45 minutes then we would be doing PT to makeup for it. It was very common for us to not shower but instead we would just wipe down our "Hotspots" with baby wipes.
Well. My dumbass got caught because I didn't get my hair wet and my towel was still folded neatly and very dry when I walked out of the shower 😂
