Just because a shot looks epic as an individual clip doesn’t mean it will automatically make your story better. UA-cam is flooded with videos about cinematic gimbal moves but these shots quickly lose value if you don’t consider the context behind the movement. In this video I’m going to explain the motivation behind the 5 most popular camera movements on a gimbal. Instead of showing you how to do them, I’m going to tell you WHY and WHEN to use them.

I've seen most content on youtube about camera angles, composition etc. But your content are far beyond anything I've watched. You are working on such a high level in this industry. Big props mate!
Thanks mate, that's a HUGE compliment to me!
Yes it's true....... outstanding video.... wonderful explain
Do you have more tutorials ?
Can't thank enough. Mad props for teaching unique and wholesome cinematography for free. No other channel does this.
Really glad you see the value. Thanks for the words! 🙏🏼
Thanks for all the knowledge. Your channel is the first one in years that makes me feel I'm actually learning new stuff again. Especially your lighting and bts tutorials are super valuable!
You're welcome Jonas, that's why I do it! Reading comments like this encourage me that I'm actually making a difference, will do my best to keep them coming as often as possible!
watching your 6 mins video explaining the reasons of why you do what you do was the best 6 mins i spent today. Thank you n keep up the great work!
WOW, that's such an awesome compliment. Thank you for telling me and for being a subscriber, it really means so much!
Your videos are probably the best I’ve seen online as there is no time wasted on things we don’t need to hear, you get straight to the point and it’s all clearly laid out with footage that matches what you’re saying. Well done and keep them coming.
Thank you Chris, that's definitely my goal with this channel, I hope to keep it that way!
BEST TUTORIAL EVER! Very understandable and helpful in explaining intentional camera movement!
Thanks Siegmund, so happy to hear that!
Just started my travel filming experience and got a gimbal and these are going to be so helpful! Thank you.
So glad to hear that, enjoy the journey!
I'm so happy I stumbled onto your channel. Between this, the Intent video, and the Contrast video I've never felt more in tune, capable, and powerful as a cinematographer. Weird way to describe the feeling I guess, but as a fellow Saffa it's encouraging hearing such useful, honest information in your own accent haha.
Loved this. I’ve been a photographer for about 20 years, and I’m taking my first steps into sort form video production. Great info.
Not just a collection of shots, but why and when to use them, outstanding video!
Yay thanks Duane!
Always top quality content! I like that you mentioned the purposes of the shoot types - really helps to get the context of real life usage. :)
Thanks Maxim, so happy to hear that. Really grateful for your ongoing support!
I really like how you simplify any explanations! What an awesome video, thanks!
So happy to hear that, thank you Bagus!
Without“why” and “when”, any gimbal/camera movements are superfluous. Thank you for sharing it with examples.
Thanks for supporting my channel bro!
Jacques, this was very useful info, thanks.
As I was just expecting some more angles and move but you gave me the entire science behind it..
Really helpful
So glad to hear that! Thanks for taking the time to write this!

Thanks Riley, comments like these encourage me even more! Grateful for your support!
Great stuff, thank You, explaining why makes such a difference 🔥✨
So glad to hear that Ben, I hope to do more WHY & WHEN videos about everything because it helps us to be more intentional.
Have been filming for almost 2 years and using gimbal, I never learnt about what movement to use when, and I'm not so satisfied with my gimbal using experience. This video appeared and now after watching I can say I'm sure it will help me a lot. Thanks
That's wonderful, thanks for taking the time to write this Aziz!
