- Tournament and Legacy Edition 1.03 memory cards have begun to ship with a final set of updates! New ISOs are now available for download as well.

The download link currently provides links to beta ISOs which contain a watermark on the character select screen. Final ISOs and memory card installation files will be available this Sunday (August 7th). - Ігри
Now that they’re allowing z jumping on the hardware side anyway, this NEEDS to be used in tournaments so we can have a software-side answer. Otherwise it just isn’t fair for people with normal controllers
Hey Hax, good to know the memory cards are shipping out soon! I recently ordered the tournament version last week and super hyped to try out 1.03. What you've done for the Melee Community is severely underappreciated.
What I would do for a Melee 1.04 is a fighter balance where low tiers are better like Mario, Link, Bowser, Young Link, Pichu, Roy etc are as good as they are in SSBU.
I think its really cool that someone that is banned from "playing the game" still provides so much for the game and the community #unbanhax

Really thankful for all the work you and Altimor have done on this project. As someone with unmodded GCCs it's been a blessing to be able to DBooC reliably and test out Z-Jumping!

low latency mode should be standard imo. dont care if everyone has to relearn their timings, hyper-responsive melee just feels too good and fun to pass up.

Hey can you make a dumb down explanation to Goomwave, notches, GC controller mods and B0xx controllers? Also any Melee mod. I took a break from Smash and now their are all these different things. I don't really know where to get started. Having someone that could explain everything in a simple way would be great.

here's the gist of it:
Goomwave is a very expensive customised Game Cube Controller (gcc) with a completely different motherboard. Goomwaves can do many things including remap buttons, distort the values on analog stick to match worn out notches, and emulate pode which is a kind of degredation in vanilla controllers that can be desirable for some techniques. It was suposse (this was a mjor selling point) to be very consistent but ended up breaking very often.
Notches are made in shell of a GCC to make percise angles easy. Notches are used to get the steepest firefox angles, sheild drop angles, and perfect wavedashes. They wear out over time which can change the angle and make them counter productive, so it's hard to maintain this advantage and modders who can notch controllers are in high demand (this is one of the biggest reasons to get a goomwave).
B0XX is a digital controller based on the HitBox that is commonly used in other fighting games. While it was originally built for players with hand injuries it has the distinct advantage of being completely consistent. There is controversy around SDI (basically a series of inputs that move your character while in hitstun) because the most common method to input SDI is noticbly better on box style controllers (note that it is possible to get better SDI on a gcc, but it requires an unusual technique that few players use). Hax (he invented and sells the B0XX) claims that he has nerfed the B0XX as much as possible without making the controller unviable. He claims that since GCCs vary so much you can't balance around them so we should balance GCCs around the B0XX. Players point out that this changes the game itself and believe that there are ways to further nerf the B0XX.

Hope this picks up. Im still on OEM and don't wanna spends mad money on controllers. I tried 1.03 on my oem controller and it's night and day difference. Now I kinda envy people that can afford phob and grooms. They straight up cheating lol.

It sounds like an unfounded rumour , there has been no presented evidence despite being easy to test if you have a modded controller
Hey Hax, is there a way to use 1.03 fixes along with other mods like 20XX 5.01? 1.03 shield-dropping is so consistent I can't go back to UCF 0.8, but 20XX still relies on UCF 0.8, I'd like to play Melee 1.03 with the custom skins and all that stuff 20XX has to offer but I can't find a way to make it work on Wii

Are issues with modded controllers and phobs fixed? I remember there was a big thing about that back when someone switched a bunch of setups to 1.03 at a major (which was a dick move but I digress) and that was a huge issue. Had that pop up at my weekly too when I was testing the 1.03 iso on one of the setups (I'm a co-TO so less of a dick move) and one of our phob players was having problems, so I switched it to Akaneia.
I'm curious how this relates to PAL melee and such. I'd really like to play the game on my physical copy but don't have access to a ntsc gc, crt and melee.
Best option for you is multimod launcher, a memcard mod developed by unclepunch and the ucf team
Is the reason fountain isn’t allowed in doubles because of lag?
Would it be better to disable the reflection effect instead of the stage in doubles?

So some questions. (I play melee on my classic gamecube and a CRT TV. I don’t have a PC nor an emulator or anything.)
1. Maybe a silly question but do these memory cards work with a classic gamecube?
2. And will these cards allow me to play Melee without my gamecube disc? Or do I need the disc and this memory card?
If somebody could answer these questions for me I would appreciate it tremendously!

What is perfect angels?
there are joystick angles that are really hard to hit using an unmodded controller, such as perfect wavedashes and certain fox/falco up b angles. the mod makes those angles more consistent to even the playing field between modded and stock controllers

I remember back in my day when we played no UCF, PAL version because I live in Europe, with stadium transforming. Aaah those were the good old days... My glory days. Now I am just a bitter old man with broken hands.
Yeah let's just go back to vanilla with RNG Stadium and let luck decide the outcome of the inputs wether it is something we wanted to do or not, why even bother about shieldropping if it's too hard to find the perfect controller or too expensive to do so let alone top players wasting hundreds of money to get their ledgedashes no point.
