I miss living and running in Carlsbad. Beautiful beach town. It's great that these race videos are available! Fun to watch before going out on a daily run. I used to run basically the same route, about a 5 mile loop along Carlsbad Blvd and the beach.
Paul Chelimo's form is so beautiful and wonderful to watch especially, from 3:00 to 3:45. His heel almost touches his butt, implying a great flexibility.
even if it was a false start it isn't like the olympics so it doesn't really matter much they also have bib trackers so their times will be accurate anyways
Are you kidding? Have you any idea what the average weight for 5K runners is? I have never ever seen someone as huge as Andy Vernon run anywhere as fast as he. Vernon almost looks superhuman.
If Dejen Gebremeskal had been challenged or helped at all, Sammy Kipketer's record of 13 flat could have been caught, but Dejen completely dominated the race.
Dejen knew the race was over before the 1st turn. He could have stopped at Starbucks for an Iced tea and still won. I don't think Kipketer's record would have been caught b/c if he had been challenged he would have sat back like he always does until the end. But yeah the "competition" this year was weeeeeeaaaak.
DogDaybreak Unless someone starts off at close to sub 4 minute pace like was done the year Kipketer set his record, I agree Dejen didnt feel challenged at all. And running at close to that pace is the only way to beat Dejen.

they made 5km looking like a 800m sprint
Favorite race to watch. Great to see Dejen back!
très bien filmée cette course ! on est vraiment dedans ! superbes images !
my right ear is lonely
that looked like a false start
agreed
The audio is not synced to the race
even if it was a false start it isn't like the olympics so it doesn't really matter much

"Welcome to the world's fastest 5k"

Why do they talk and measure time within miles when race is 5000m/5k? Just want to understand why.
America is still in imperial measurements
Some of the mens' elite runners jumped out across the starting line and took off running about one or two seconds early!
When was the last time Paul Chelimo actually won something... He's great at coming second...
Chelimo always touches his face for no reason
The commentator got the third person's name wrong, it's Sam McEntee!
Gebremeskel talks a little like he runs, intense, a bit nervous, but well conditioned.
Rocks his head alot
wonderful race carlsbad i would like to run at least once when it is organised I will find out and participate
I loved the picture quality of this video. Please, could you tell me what type of camera has been recorded? I'm interested.

No es que no hayan progresado, es que directamente retrocedieron.
Ya no hay mexicanos que hagan esas marcas.
