Thank you for all of your very informative videos, Kylie! Really amazing!
We are purchasing a "new-construction" free-standing townhome that comes with "builder-selected" dark cabinetry, dark floors, and a "warm-sand" color scheme featuring Sherwin Williams's "Natural Tan" on all of the interiors throughout the home. We would like to modify the color scheme a bit and go to a "lighter, crisper" look. We prefer white kitchen cabinetry and are currently considering Benjamin Moore's "White Dove" or Sherwin Williams's "Pure White". I thought I had it figured out when someone brought to my attention that white cabinetry paint should match the trim which in our case is Sherwin Williams's "Extra White". I was really wanting to go with a slightly warmer white with a slight gray undertone. I feel the "Extra White" will be too stark and too bright for all of our cabinetry. Is it necessary to match the cabinetry white to the trim white in this case? "Thank You" for reading and for your thoughts and ideas!

Hi Kylie! I have finally made the big decision to do our entire house in white dove. Walls, ceiling, trim, cabinets all white dove but in different sheens. What would be a good complimentary pop of color that would go well with white dove to use for exterior doors and my island? Was contemplating the new evergreen fog from Sherwin Williams?

I'm putting in a new sunroon across from my dining room and probably gonna repaint everything including my kitchen which has some nice mosaic stone backslash. I really like dove white for the trim and baseboard. Would you pair that with pale oak, classic grey or Balboa mist for the walls? I get a little nervous about the purple and pink undertones. I do get a lot of natural light in those rooms and white walls would be too blinding imo, but I'm not trying to go too dark. Maybe a greige?
Edit* I just saw your video on Edgecomb gray and I think that may work best with the white dove trim

You’re worth your weight in gold! I adore these videos. My question is, I have a fairly new kitchen that I had done in White Dove.
Currently my walls are Stonington Gray reduced to 75% intensity with a Wrought Iron accent wall. I am not loving the cool palate with the warmer kitchen anymore... is there a “go to” wall colour you suggest to pair with White Dove cabinet and trim. Something fairly light but warmer and darker then White Dove just for some layering / depth in the space? Thanks for your insight!

we just painted our condo with White Dove and we have mad love for white dove!! Even painted the kitchen, which we were able to pull off as our current, builder grade cabinets are a similar color with brown and black granite. You are correct, the brown granite made a smooth transition with the white dove. We also added a small island with butcher block top and painted the base white dove. We just weren't ready to do a full kitchen redo as we also removed all existing carpet and tile and retiled with limestone. It's such a nice match with white dove! Would love to paint the island a different color, but not sure what color would live up to the clean crisp look of all white dove. Any suggestions?

    Hello,
I wish to paint a small bedroom (with bulkhead) a warm white. If I do a matte finish on the walls, semi on the trim / doors would this be ideal? Recently I heard that a matte finish is 'more true to it's colour) as the Regal has higher quality ingredients (for lack of a better word). This was regarding Benj Moore Gray Cashmere which I am not as crazy about . In addition, my furniture is a mix match of browns. Not fancy here. Thank you in advance.

Hi Lesley, i love makeup too ;)! I'm learning a lot about it and am diggin' Beauty Counter these days. Anyways. It can really depend on your interior finishes and exposure. If your space is darker, white can help bounce light around, I'm a fan of SW Pure White which is a wink less warm than White Dove. As for gray, as long as you have reasonable light, I do LOVE Big Chill or even the slightly softer First Star!

Looking to do this colour in our dark basement, would Simply White for the trim work or is it too close?. We have a greyish carpet with speckles of different shades of grey. And what word a nice ascent wall colour to compliment if our main walls are White Dove. For reference right now we have Stonington Gray and that seems a little too blue with the carpet it doesn't look right with the carpet and also still seems a little dark in the basement..

    Hi Kylie,
I'm new to your channel. Found you while searching B.M.'s White Dove for exterior.
We are looking to paint our South facing home (stucco with multi-colored reddish brick surrounding the entry way/front door, and above the garage) in White Dove.
I want a soft white (as opposed to a stark/blinding white), and do not want any white that has pink/yellow/beige/etc. undertones when the sunlight reflects it.
I originally planned on using the same color for trim (flat for the house, and satin for the trim) BUT...the lady at B.M. recommends using Chantilly Lace for the trim (in satin) instead.
I'm not sure if the contrast will make White Dove look dingy/pink/gray/etc.
If you read this PLEASE respond right away. We are looking to finalize our colors by tomorrow afternoon.
Oh, and we are considering using either B.M.'s Heritage red for the front entry door (in satin), or Kelly Moore's 'Relief' red.

Hi Kylie. Love your videos. Very informative! I’m so confused as to what color to paint my dark cherry cabinets. We have light grey/taupe wood flooring. I have windows in the breakfast nook area but I don’t feel my kitchen is very bright. We will be putting in quartz counter tops and redoing our backsplash. I want a light and bright kitchen. The quartz we think we are going with is super white.
I was orig thinking to do Edgecomb gray for the cabinets but they look a bit green. I painted some poster boards and taped up. My walls are pale oak by BM. Do you think white dove would work for my cabinets with white quartz ? Any other suggestions? Any help would be most appreciated! Thank you !

I have watched so many of your videos on whites some more than once and read your blog.. more than once! Have watched others too. I am about to get my kitchen cabinets painted. ALL my trim is painted BOHEMIAN LACE by HGTV Home Sherwin Williams collection HGSW4052. Well its been weeks and I cannot find ANY blog on this color. I do not want to have a different white on ceiling...trim and cabinets. The color looks good on the trim but the cabinets are a much bigger project and I am scared to do it without ANY info out there. And because it's not in the regular run of things, there isn't much info on it! Looking at it online, it's LRV is good (85), but it's a SOFT white, not a 'white', similar to SW Pure White, but it looks like it COULD have a subtle yellow-green undertone which makes me a bit nervous?

Hi Kylie, We've just painted our entire house with White Dove and love it. I have two questions. 1. What are your thoughts on also using White Dove for the baseboards and trim? 2. What's a good 'white' or 'off-white' for kitchen cabinets to pair with the White Dove walls? We are going to do a colored island either blue or grey with a maple butcher block top. Thanks so much!

Your videos have so much detailed information that I can't believe I can't figure it out. I just bought the house and the living room is currently white but looks almost lavender to me (not a fan) I'm thinking maybe White Dove? ....or will the north light turn it green? Maybe I'm thinking of Simply White. I have a navy leather couch, a couple of barrel chairs in kind of pale cream. I put flooring in as luxury vinyl in kind of a med warm brown without a lot of pattern. I'm kind of over the white/grey and like a little bit warmer look but the whole house is kind of dark in general except the office in the south side.

Hey Debra, it's NEVER to late for White Dove ;). So, I don't LOVE Pure White and White Dove together as while they're similar in depth, White Dove is warmer and Pure White could look dingy in comparison, makes me nervous. Mixing whites is HARD. So, it sounds like you want the cabinets/trim WHITER than the walls, which is a great way to do it, although it's still touchy business. Have you thought about choosing an off-white like Dove Wing and then White Dove for trim/cabinets to get layering, but get out of the white/white thing? Going the other way, I worry about things looking dingy or overly yellow as the whites bounce off each other.

Hi Kylie, I am pretty committed to this White Dove on my walls and trim-is it best to also use it on ceiling OR go whiter on ceiling? What do you suggest for ceiling? I am trying to stick with same color all over the whole house to keep it easy, I am hoping it will work all over....

@@KylieMInteriorsPaint Ok so I am SOLD on white dove for walls, trim & ceilings after attending the walk thru for our new home today, however we are painting kitchen cabinets to update old oak kitchen and need to keep the 90s warm granite....white dove pulls in real nice with the granite to be honest....is it just TOO much overkill to also do white dove on the cabinets too? I would like contrast but nothing seems to look right....any suggestions would be SO appreciated =)

Actually, those are Ikea cabinets, so they're a slightly warm white, I bet something like SW Pure White :).

Will white dove look on kitchen cabinets with white quartz?

    • @KylieMInteriorsPaint
      @KylieMInteriorsPaint  2 роки тому

Hi Prajakta, it TOTALLY depends on the quartz as some are warmer than others. I find that it's MORE often a touch too warm for many quartz countertops.

@@KylieMInteriorsPaint Hi Kylie, I love reading your blogs and I am also a subscriber for your UA-cam channel. I love how you speak and even my husband is a fan of yours. I really appreciate how you take time to write these blogs and post videos, you don’t know how much you are helpful to people like us who cannot afford very expensive interior designers🙏 you are my most favorite paint advise persons on YT. I have been watching all your videos to help me decide paint for my house for past several weeks.
I tried to short list my paint colors to Dove white, Swiss coffee and Pale Oak. The way my layout is, I have to go with the same color for my entry way, living room (facing north west) and kitchen ( very dark since only one window facing south) since there is no division in between (80’s typical colonial house with stairs in the middle with no big foyer so dark hallway)I like how Pale oak goes with my warm fixed elements such as glazed maple cabinets and my dark brown couch, cream/beige coffee table and beige carpet/tiles, but what I don’t like is how it looks especially on stairways showing blue/ green undertones and also in my family room especially in evening hours when the warm light is turned on. I don’t like it in my family room so I started looking for off whites since I’ve 2 sky lights and one patio door in family room so I get plenty of lights there from south east direction. I tried so many color sample from samplize( thanks to your advise 😊) such as Chantilly lace, pale oak, Swiss coffee, super white, revere pewter, Collingwood, etc
1st question I’ve is 1. Should I go with dove white in family room and pale oak in living room or should I keep white dove through out my first floor. 2. If I go with dove white everywhere then do I keep the same trim and doors ( laundry room/ mud room/powder room etc) or should I change it up? 3. I’m doing an accent wall in family room with board and batten which is facing the main wall that can be seen as soon as you enter the room as well as from kitchen and living room. I was thinking of choosing Dove white with Pale oak/ agreeable gray as an accent wall ( I tried revere pewter but found too dark) which one do you think would go more? 4. If it was your place with lots of warm elements would you go with off white such as dove white or neutral white would you go with greige color or any other color? If so which one? What color would you choose for accent wall?
Sorry for the long question but I wanted to provide as much info as possible. Appreciate it! 😊
