I tried this and it definitely helped. I would say 2 layers of painters tape is the sweet spot. I did try adding the 3rd layer, and while it dampened the sound, it did feel mushy.
You know what also works really well. Using the non-drying modeling clay (not the Play-doh stuff) and dabbing some underneath the keyboard and it really deadens the sound by a lot. You don't need a lot either. This also works by adding it to the inside on the bottom of a hallow sounding keyboard.
I put dynamat in mine. I've got ceramic keycaps and the space had a tink to it and the dampener turned it into a deep thud. deepest space ive ever heard. Sounds like youre tapping the table with your finger.
i have outemu style switches and the spacebar kept getting stuck to the switch :/ when i was taking the spacebar out to remove the tape, it took the switch out with it lol. got it all back to normal.
I mean u could, but would take forever considering they space inside they jkeys is extremely small. Too much tape and it will weigh down the switch itself
Painter's tape. Duct tape is the thicker, shinier tape with strings in it and usually leaves a lot of sticky adhesive when you take it off. The matte surface of painter's tape helps diffuse the sound better if you want quieter keys.
@@keyboredum ight, just tried 3, and it have a loud clacky sound still, i think its the problem from my stabs, im not sure how to fix it, it aint about the rattling, just the sound

Be careful not to let the tape go too far up the stems of the keycaps
Can lead to it getting stuck when you push down
Very good! I did mine with crepe tape. Thank you very much, the result on mine was amazing.
WHAAAAT YOU CAN TAPE MOD THE SPACE BAR NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THAT
If you dont have electrical or painter tape just use like 2x the amount of taoe if you are using a thinner tape it works just as well
Love you bro, thanks for the mod tip, I’m also glad you have the naga pro :)
Thanks, it’s a great mouse ❤️

Wouldn't this also weight down the space bar?
you could also apply jelly tape for a thicker version of it, btw nc content and mod!!
I did both, jelly tape with frog tape on top
I used this but didn't feel any different.
I used play dough instead of tape and it was wayy thockier.. :)
I put dynamat in mine. I've got ceramic keycaps and the space had a tink to it and the dampener turned it into a deep thud. deepest space ive ever heard. Sounds like youre tapping the table with your finger.
Sounds very mushy at the end, maybe it was too much, but nice mod
Ty now I will try this :)
No problem 🙂
Did this with hot glue and dam it sounds deep
i dont know if i doing some thing wrong but it doesnt work for me , it basically just added resistance and did not dampen the noise so its just worse
Thank you king
Does this work in normal keycaps like WASD as well pls answer i really need to try this out❤❤
I put blutack in my spacebar, it's a little messy but it sounds and feels way nicer now
Nice! I might have to try that
I want your keyboard. I’m learning japanese atm and it looks so good. Where to get that keyboard
I used blue tack and it worked so will but it picks up all the dust and looks gross but it’s sounds sooo good
I have the same keycaps
This is just a little bit hollow, but the rattly...
What would happen if you used electric tape?
Thank youuuuu❤❤❤
Thanks!
You’re welcome ☺️
Whered you buy the mouse pad?

Blutack also works
how do you clean them now?
How do u get it on there
would it be a good idea to do this for every key in my keyboard?
Probably not
@@jclikesfnaf2 why?

Wich tape plz iam searching the hole day😅😅
Painters tape I believe
how did you make the holes?
Just push down with some pressure around the stems and the paper should just tear, the tape I used was quite thin
@@keyboredum Must it be 2 layers of the masking/duct type or more, im very curious cause my spacebar sound bad asf

I have a whole second keyboard as well 🫣
hot glue does a similar thing
Can you please tell me what keycaps they are
wow mod keyboard
should i can do this with papers?
Can you do this with duck tape?
I haven’t tried, I would recommend masking tape over duct tape though as it’s more papery, easier to remove 🙂
what is that?
How many layers do you recommend?
I believe I used about 3-4 layers but just test it out and see what works best for your keyboard 🙂

U could I got 11 dollar or 9 dollar kbdfans spacebar foam
It doesn't work for spacebars with the grids in the plastic and most of the keycaps have that

Maybe, any sort of dampener will help but I haven't tried electrical tape
you can use literally anything as long as it fills up the hollow space
Not good , the space bar getting heavier and sluggish. NOT recommend this mod.
