Hello Sal, It was pleasant to hear how you found the true meaning of your life. And its so interesting to hear from a person who was brought up from another religious background and who truely learned about Islam from its basic level. I especially love the part where you said there is always two ways in interpreteting a text. It directly hit my heart and it is so very true. Lot of conflicts and misinterpretations happening in the World is because how wrongly people perceive things around him. May God bless you with all the good things in life! (Kun fayakoon)
Masha Allah. May Allah grant you Jannah. Brother, somewhere in the comment section I came across with a comment that 75 % of the converts leave Islam within first 5 years. As you are a convert and a muslim for more than 40 years, do you ever got this feeling, or you met any of the converts who had regrets about this decision. What is the major cause ysually which triggers this feeling.
saad saad I sincerely doubt the validity of that statistic. It doesn’t apply to the converts that I know or have interacted with. I would imagine the number is much, much smaller and depends on the circumstances that led them to embrace Islam in the first place. If their decision to embrace Islam was based on knowledge and reflection, I believe they never look back. Those who made the decision based on emotion alone or social pressure from Muslims, are more apt to slide back into the old ways once that emotion or pressure subsides. This is not to say that even the most stable converts don’t experience a drop in their Iman at times just as any Muslim does. In my case, I never felt that there is any other way, but the Straight Way and although I often am disappointed in Muslims, I have never wavered in my certainly of the truth of Islam. Thanks for asking!
Thank you brother for uploading this video. I don’t have Instigram but follow you on youtube. The video was not long at all I enjoyed every second of it. You are 100% right we all sin and have our weekness but we are always back to Allah. Hajj is wonderfull journey I have done mine this year and it is very spritual. planning with person that had officially led you to Islam says all about you being kind and nice. So happy for you to have understanding and supportive family. Thank you once again.
Bismillah, Brother Sal thank you for posting your revert video. Myself, I am a Muslim revert from New York City. My former religious background was Christianity Pentecostal Apostolic. Allah SWT lead me to his love in 2019 and I took my Shahada April 2019 on my lunch hour at Manhattan Masjid.. The inner peace that Allah SWT has give me. There is noamount of money, influence or physical gratification that this dunya (world) could or can offer. May Allah SWT continue to lead his on his straight path. InshAllah
I came across your channel through travel - thank you so much for sharing this other personal "journey" with us! It's so great to hear and so much of what you said resonates with me as a fellow convert. Love your honesty about not being perfect and that your iman comes in ebb and flow. This is so important to remind each other of. I find that as converts we always want to feel like we did at the time we converted (you'll know what I mean ;)) but that's not realistic in this world, I think. Also we are often put on a pedestal by others or are constantly questioned about our choice, which can add pressure. So in short it is so nice to hear your story and that you have the same ups and downs :) Thank you for sharing and I'd love to hear more.
Hello Franzi! Congratulations! I’m so happy for you! May I suggest something? 😊 I have been following an account on Tumblr called Reverthelp, and their Instagram is @revert_help. I have made a couple of revert friends and they mentioned that the admin is a professional life coach who helps them with their questions and supports them through their process. They are really happy with the support they get. They have a really nice community too. Seeing your comment I thought they can be of good use for you as well if you need any information or resources. Do send them a message 😊 best ✌🏻
Your experience motivates me more . I am so confused about Trinity. it doesn't make any sense to me. Jesus is born from a mother if Jesus is God then who creates Mary(Jesus' mother)?? Does Jesus create his own mother??? If Jesus is God why he requires to pray to his father?? Me too I read the Quran. Quran explains clearly about Jesus and it makes sense to me. Jesus is like others Prophet like Moses, Mohammad. And I read Mohammed life history I found so amazing, he was good father, good husband, good neighbor, good leader, a good Ruler, Truthful person i can learn so many thing from him just to follow him, most importantly i can learn discipline and What i can learn from Jesus he didn't even got married, he didn't had wife, he didn't had children and he command to kill innocent baby and he calls women are dogs, he didn't give women equal rights how he be God. So i found Bible is full of contradictions. Pray for me brother.
Welcome brother from india... Always pray namaz regularly... And do dawah and inspire people about path of islam . Our prophets especially prophet muhammad peace be upon him , did very very hard work to propagate islam from the rocky hot land of mecca.
As salamou aleykoum brother. Everyone did a fantastic welcoming you to our deen, your story is truly heart felt so thank you for sharing. Bismillah in your journey with Allah may he keep you stronger cuz Allah will test you but don't forget that you have 1+billion brothers and sisters!!! I also watched few vloggers but you taking the time to answers almost all the comments really shows that you're not for just the views and subscribes, you care...true character of the Muslim!!! Barikalahu fikh!!!
Hi Sal. I found this very inspiring to watch. Not because I am a Muslim, but because of your honest description of your journey. I have followed a very similar path, but have ended up Buddhist, rather than Muslim. It was intriguing to see how your thought processes unfolded over the years, in essence very similar to my own, but we have ended up at a different destination. As far as I can see, the essence of each religion (at its core) is very similar. It’s just that the ways we have to describe the ineffable are so varied and we get hung up on those descriptions. I also found this refreshing as most Muslim conversion stories I have watched or read involve either conversion due to marriage or conversion because the person is fed up with “Western values” or something similar. Your story is quite different to all the others I have seen. I wish you well on your journey.
Love this video. I too love to explore spirituality and religion and have done so all my life. I have read the Bible and studied Christianity, read on Buddhist philosophy ( not religion) and read the Koran. There r so many similarities between all 3 and I wish people could explore them for themselves and realize how alike most of us are. It would be truly awesome if u could either devote more of the channel to this topic or start another channel focusing on this. Thank you , bless you, . Inshallah❤️🇨🇦
Sister, it is great that you have recognized the similarities but still, there are many differences among the religions. Islam is an Abrahamic religion, confirming all prophets including Jesus (peace be upon him). But one reason why Prophet Muhammad was sent is to correct the misconceptions the Christians have about Jesus. According to Islam, he is neither God nor the son of God but instead only a messenger of God, born from virgin marry. It is true that Jesus had no father, but this does not make him the son of God. If this would be the case, then what about Adam? He had neither father nor mother
some common questions of people about life and existence and their answers from holy Qur'an. . . 1) what we were before birth and what we will after death? . How (can) you disbelieve in Allah? While you were dead then He gave you life; then He will cause you to die, then He will give you life, then to Him you will be returned. (Qur'an 2:28) . . 2) "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, Shall then we indeed be raised again?" (Quran 56:47) . Does think [the] man that not We will assemble his bones? Nay! (We are) Able on that We can restore his fingertips. (Quran 75:3-4) . . note; yes fingertips! . 3) what if anyone dies as non believers . "We warn you of doom at hand. A day when a man will look on that his own hand has sent before, and the non-believers will cry: "Wish that we were dust." (Qur'an 78:40) . note; he thought in the world that he would dust after die but actual result is he raised again.
Yes lot of similarities between Islam and Christian... Allah mean God Mary means maryam David mean dawood Solomon mean Sulaiman Noah means nuh Gabriel mean jibrail Moses mean musa Aaron mean harun in Islam Jesus means isa in Islam Abraham mean Ibrahim in Islam Allah mean God in Islam
Hey Sal, Amazing video and what a spiritual journey..... Found this channel through Drew. Love from your neighboring emirate of Dubai. Hope to meet you someday. Peace.
This one is the best video ever I seen on Internet. You had an amazing spiritual journey you learned alot from many religions and your final decision or your internal acceptance towards Islam is all about the actual meaning of the creation of mankind. You're so lucky you finally find the true meaning of your life or the reason of your creation. You followed true and right path to live your life according to Islam and the teachings of our Holy Prophet Hazrar Muhammad SAW. I really loved your journey even I learnt from you and from your words I felt that we are so lucky we are already Muslims but we all are struggling and lived our lives as we liked or not according to the true meaning of Islam. I really loved your content loved your every single word and I wanted to talk to you more about Islam.. Ma Sha Allah you're doing great... 👍💯👌 Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰❤️❤️
@M J I think so, there is no conclusion between both of your concerns... But I won't get any of your points and the reason why you guys talk about that sensitive information here..? and just arguing with each other on what basis this topic shouldn't be quote here and all of your teachings and beliefs I damm care about any of your comments.... This is irrelevant and totally false concepts I don't much about it but you guys never talked about anything anymore...
@M J I'm just saying this is not the right place for this type of discussion here and I already said I don't know much about it but I just want you guys go somewhere else and talk about it... Just close it.... Who quoted first..?? You... And why you did that I don't know... Just leave that topic because the direction of your discussion is going to some other point and the real issue is totally abort.... But from my perspective I think so You are right... Because on that time there is not concept of dolls and girlfriends... Etc etc but just stop that arguments...
Hearing your story in the middle of Ramadan...what an inspiring story. Thank you for sharing! Your answer about praying "I don't get that question" made me smile a lot.
You are a very inspiring and open minded person. A lot of travellers say they do it so they can learn more about the world and be open minded, but I think you are living proof of that. I am truthfully impressed by you.
I agree at thing u said here (15:58) "sometimes I feel like incredibly close to my faith and sometimes it will sink a bit... and that happens to everybody." Life is a test and learning place itself, I'm born Muslim but sometimes I experienced difficulties but my low didn't feel the lowest when I seek for him compared to when I didn't fulfill my duty as a Muslim. Even in hardship, I feel like Allah always be with me. May whatever things happened to us, we will gonna always remember our creator.
May Allah swt preserve you and increase you in your faith and bless you with the best of His blessings in this life and in the next!! Thank you for sharing. Love all of your content!
I just discovered your channel, Sal - and this video makes me very happy. Alhamdulillah. May your journey remain inspiring, rewarding and peaceful in this life and the next. A lot of reverts often have a lonely journey because many of our Muslim communities don't seem to be as approachable and warm as they could be but I hope your social media family and those around you always make you feel welcome :)
Alhamdulillah now you are my brother in Faith, i have 1 friend also from Australia who became a muslim, And the reason he became Muslim was because he was arrested and put in prison because of something he did wrong, And he said to me, he met with Muslims there and they talked with each other and listened to stories from his Muslim friends about Islam, And after a while he asked That man to convert him to Islam❤️ Salam from Indonesia 🇮🇩 I am sorry for my bad English 😅
Thank you for sharing your journey. As for this ‘ibaad, my journey to Islam started in a little town in TX even though I grew up in Indonesia and was raised a Muslim. What I found vastly interesting is that, in Indonesia, when I grew up just about everyone practiced the same way (most Indonesians followed syafi’i mathab). But praying jumu’ah in a major masjid in Houston, in one row, there are in average about 5-7 different countries praying side by side. And that is so beautiful. Hugging someone who speaks totally different than me, and feel genuine love for them, and call them “sister” is one of the first things I was genuinely touched by in the beginning of my learning...and still is. May God always light your within, even at the darkest time of your hours.
Yesss , I made to the end , May God bless you, I'm so touched with your story, I'm always having this question, How can be these non Muslim people convert to Islam ?! how Islam touches their souls ?! for me as a Muslim since birth having our own journey too, but I'm always saying that yours ( journey) is deeper . Welcome brother.
Alhamdulillah, you've a blessed soul my brother. You sound very genuine and awaken. May Allah keep you on the right path and guide you to contribute more to the community! :)
This video was so very nice and eye opening I think one of the most different aspects that differs between someone who is born Muslim and someone who has converted to Islam is that the spirituality and the strong belief, I think a person who has converted have had the time to look deeply into his believes and maybe have known god better than the one who was born as a Muslim but then again this is not a general rule of course, Anyway I'm really happy for u and may Allah guide us all :) much love ❤

@UA-cam Responder woah. You are aware that the Sahabah - the four Caliphs, the Prophet's wives, the noblest people ever to walk this earth, the most beloved people to the Prophet Muhammad saw were all 'converts' to Islam? Many people like Sal are closer to the Sahabah than people like us born into Muslim families (entrenched in culture and all the baggage that comes with it). Allah swt has guided them to the Deen and He only guides whom He wills.

@@danielmasters5484 Jazak Allah for the detailed reply. Thanks.
saad saad Wa iyyak.

Thank you my friend for all the kind words!
InshAllah
MaSha Allah. So happy for you brother.
thank you my friend!
Am so happy that you enjoyed it! Will definitely share more
Hello Franzi! Congratulations! I’m so happy for you! May I suggest something? 😊
I have been following an account on Tumblr called Reverthelp, and their Instagram is @revert_help.
This is really nice, thank you for the video Sal
you're always welcome!
Hey brother plz also exprore ilmfeed and 877 why Islam channels on youtube so you have find answers
May Allah guide you..in al-quraan there is story about mary parents. Surah al imran.. I really love my prophets
Don't forget what bible so called god, In Genesis 18:20-21 have no knowledge and have to come down to earth to know wheter the outcry true or not
Jason Danial please.. don't criticize jesus (P.B.U.H) He Is Also A Divine messenger of Allah
Suhaib Zaidi he criticise what bible says about Isa a.s not what Islam says, that’s what the brother meant by his comment.
I love how you remembered the old man and wanted to take him to hajj may Allah make your life filled with happiness and joy
Converted from an atheist to Islam 2 years ago :)

Welcome brother from india... Always pray namaz regularly... And do dawah and inspire people about path of islam . Our prophets especially prophet muhammad peace be upon him , did very very hard work to propagate islam from the rocky hot land of mecca.

Thanks so much man - and good luck in your journey as well
This was wonderful, thank you for answering Sal and all the best, God bless friend.
Thank you!
Amen - it is always beautiful to explore different religions and find our path to the divine
(Qur'an 2:28)
.
.
2) "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, Shall then we indeed be raised again?" (Quran 56:47)
.
Does think [the] man that not We will assemble his bones?
Nay! (We are) Able on that We can restore his fingertips. (Quran 75:3-4)
.
.
note; yes fingertips!
.
3) what if anyone dies as non believers
.
"We warn you of doom at hand. A day when a man will look on that his own hand has sent before, and the non-believers will cry: "Wish that we were dust." (Qur'an 78:40)
.
note; he thought in the world that he would dust after die but actual result is he raised again.
Yes lot of similarities between Islam and Christian...
Allah mean God
Mary means maryam
David mean dawood
Solomon mean Sulaiman
Noah means nuh
Gabriel mean jibrail
Moses mean musa
Aaron mean harun in Islam
Jesus means isa in Islam
Abraham mean Ibrahim in Islam
Allah mean God in Islam

👍💯👌 Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰❤️❤️
wow thank you for these kind words! means a lot to me
May Allah Pak bless you 😇☺️
@M J what are you exactly trying to say in this point...??
Showers of blessings upon you♥
thank you my friend!

I agree at thing u said here (15:58)
"sometimes I feel like incredibly close to my faith and sometimes it will sink a bit... and that happens to everybody."
Life is a test and learning place itself, I'm born Muslim but sometimes I experienced difficulties but my low didn't feel the lowest when I seek for him compared to when I didn't fulfill my duty as a Muslim. Even in hardship, I feel like Allah always be with me. May whatever things happened to us, we will gonna always remember our creator.

Alhamdulillah now you are my brother in Faith, i have 1 friend also from Australia who became a muslim, And the reason he became Muslim was because he was arrested and put in prison because of something he did wrong, And he said to me, he met with Muslims there and they talked with each other and listened to stories from his Muslim friends about Islam, And after a while he asked That man to convert him to Islam❤️

Your conversion make me happy.
am happy that it does!

You can tell that he really truly has embraced Islam . The calm demeanour and ease and noor from his face and the serenity in his expression shows he really has fully embraced Islam elhamdulillah. From Your brother from Canada , eh!
