Look at Japan for example, no one will say that japanese people are backwards or weird because they dont hug strangers like people in the west, but when people in Saudi Arabia do the same thing people think it's strange or backwards or regressive. This is about the "hugging & shaking hand" part.. There's easier way to understand this rule by knowing this basic rule : 1. If the person you about to hug/shake hand are a person who you can get marry to, it's HARAM (forbidden). 2. Therefore a small child, your mom, grandma..you get the picture...they are HALAL (allowed). You can only touch them hugging/hand shake once you get married. This is simply because human are weak to flesh.. A simple touch could end up to be something else..😅

A Muslim woman cannot Shake hands or hug a man who is a stranger or who is not one of her mahrams. The question here is who are the woman’s mahrams: they are the father, brother, uncle, grandfather, maternal uncle, son, husband, nephew, sister’s son, So, a Muslim woman can certainly hug and shake hands with her mahrams who were mentioned before, but our true religion has set boundaries between a foreign man and woman. I am a Muslim living in South Africa. My Christian neighbors have keys to my house. They enter and help themselves to my groceries/food even when I am not there. What's mine is there's. That includes the bathroom! So they enjoy liberties with us, but they have to 'istinja' when using our toilet. Its a win-win because they learn better hygiene.

In Islam, all thing in life has rules and guides to follow., it's guide us to we won't lost in our way, from wake up to sleep, such as: how to wake up so we feel grateful to be alive, how to take off our clothes, how to take a bath, how to dress, how to look at the mirror, how to cook, how to eat, how to drink, how to entering/exiting the house, how to depart to a journey (go to school/work/market/anywhere), how to study, how to work, how to sneeze, how to yawn, how to propose for marriage, how to do budgeting and spending money, how to behave around other people (parents, teacher, friends, or even stranger), how to take care of children, how to take care of parents, how to speak, how to stand in justice, how to forgive people, how to run a region, how to be leader, how to be a follower/supporter, and sooo many more that I can't write because I need to helping my sister. All of these and other rules you can find them in Qur'an and Sunnah. P.S.: For non-Muslims, maybe these rules are so annoying to follow, "oh, it's my body and my life, so I'll do what I want". It's okay. But didn't all of us follows our country's rules (like taxes or traffic rules)? Even more close, didn't we all live in our parents' house, and they set up their rules, so we grow to be good person? For student, we have the school rules. Worker has their company rules. What's wrong living with guides, rules and order?

Prevention is better than cure In Islam, the rules about men and women not touching each other are there to keep everyone safe. When she talked about not hugging, she meant "strangers, not family members" . But you can hug your family, parents, siblings, uncle and aunt, grandparents... etc. The rule applies on non relatives.
10:20 there is actually something like that lol, instead of having to wash our feet every time you do ablution , you can instead lightly graze your socks with water , but this has some requirements aswell, like your socks have to be completely clean and you have to wear them after doing full body ablution (essentially just a shower with some extra steps) , then you can proceed to wetting your socks (lol) before prayer for the next day and a night then the ritual expires and you have to restart with a shower and clean socks. this might seem useless but trust me it makes a difference in winter if you suffer from chronic cold feet like me.
Hugging and hand shaking allowed for certain relatives. Like sister, mother , grandmother, aunt (sisters of mom & dad) etc... the persons you're not allowed to get married by the bond of blood. How it is proggressive to hug someone when you're allowed to marry with the person? Is this rational?
The first thing I would like to clarify is that Islam has such perfect laws or rules that even in a progressing society you adapt to them with no problem whatsoever. Secondly, hugging or any physical contact is strictly prohibited when you don't know the opposite gender or they are not part of your family but hugging or other physical are allowed if it is your family. and this rule is to protect us so that someone doesn't take advantage of us.
I hear what your saying about the laws, I just know that depending on who your talking to, they might disagree. We would have to go through every rule, and even among Muslims I bet there would be disagreements. Life is very nuanced, and rules and laws evolve over time. I bet that even for a Muslim things have changed over the past 100 years, depending on where you live, relating to what your allowed to do and not do, as it relates to the Quran.

There are a few misunderstandings that often occur between Muslims and other religions. Like when you don't have contact with the opposite sex, where people think Muslims are 100% unable to interact with the opposite sex. Like a woman can't hug their little brother or father, that's not true. Interactions between women such as holding hands, hugging or even kissing men on the cheek are limited to men who are not directly related to the family. Muslim women can interact with their sons, with their brothers, with their fathers, with their uncles, with their grandfathers, with their cousins, because they have a close family relationship with her. However, this limitation only applies to people outside the family, including male friends, brothers-in-law, aunt's husband. The reason is quite simple because physical contact can cause feelings for both of them. And in Islam this can potentially lead to something undesirable, and often harms women. So the prohibition against having contact with the opposite sex is a limitation for men and protection for women. That's why touching the opposite sex is not a sin, it is a rule to protect the name of both.
As a traditionalist myself i see liberalism as a very serious threat not just to religious people but all humanity so if we started to be what so called "open minded" then we're doomed cause eventually we will be completely liberalized and that would be the end of tradition
I don't think you can have liberalism with out conservatism, and visa versa. They actually work off of each other, as part of our human development. Both sides can have disfunction in my opinion, and one is not better then the other.

(QS. Al-Maaida 5: Verse 73) يَٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَا تَغۡلُواْ فِي دِينِكُمۡ وَلَا تَقُولُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَقَّ ۚ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَتُهُۥٓ أَلۡقَىٰهَآ إِلَىٰ مَرۡيَمَ وَرُوحٞ مِّنۡهُ ۖ فَئَامِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ ۖ وَلَا تَقُولُواْ ثَلَٰثَةٌ ۚ ٱنتَهُواْ خَيۡرًا لَّكُمۡ ۚ إِنَّمَا ٱللَّهُ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞ ۖ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥٓ أَن يَكُونَ لَهُۥ وَلَدٞ ۘ لَّهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًا "O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs." (QS. An-Nisaa 4: Verse 171) What do muslims believe about Jesus's thoughts about the Trinity? وَإِذۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَى ٱبۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ ءَأَنتَ قُلۡتَ لِلنَّاسِ ٱتَّخِذُونِي وَأُمِّيَ إِلَٰهَيۡنِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ قَالَ سُبۡحَٰنَكَ مَا يَكُونُ لِيٓ أَنۡ أَقُولَ مَا لَيۡسَ لِي بِحَقٍّ ۚ إِن كُنتُ قُلۡتُهُۥ فَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتَهُۥ ۚ تَعۡلَمُ مَا فِي نَفۡسِي وَلَآ أَعۡلَمُ مَا فِي نَفۡسِكَ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلَّٰمُ ٱلۡغُيُوبِ "And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?'" He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen." (QS. Al-Maaida 5: Verse 116) ..
Who is Prophet Muhammad? كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا فِيكُمۡ رَسُولًا مِّنكُمۡ يَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا وَيُزَكِّيكُمۡ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ وَيُعَلِّمُكُم مَّا لَمۡ تَكُونُواْ تَعۡلَمُونَ "Just as We have sent among you a messenger from yourselves reciting to you Our verses and purifying you and teaching you the Book and wisdom and teaching you that which you did not know." (QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 151) مُّحَمَّدٞ رَّسُولُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥٓ أَشِدَّآءُ عَلَى ٱلۡكُفَّارِ رُحَمَآءُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ ۖ تَرَىٰهُمۡ رُكَّعًا سُجَّدًا يَبۡتَغُونَ فَضۡلًا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضۡوَٰنًا ۖ سِيمَاهُمۡ فِي وُجُوهِهِم مِّنۡ أَثَرِ ٱلسُّجُودِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مَثَلُهُمۡ فِي ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةِ ۚ وَمَثَلُهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡإِنجِيلِ كَزَرۡعٍ أَخۡرَجَ شَطۡئَهُۥ فَئَازَرَهُۥ فَٱسۡتَغۡلَظَ فَٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَىٰ سُوقِهِۦ يُعۡجِبُ ٱلزُّرَّاعَ لِيَغِيظَ بِهِمُ ٱلۡكُفَّارَ ۗ وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ مِنۡهُم مَّغۡفِرَةً وَأَجۡرًا عَظِيمَۢا "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in prayer], seeking bounty from Allah and [His] pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. That is their description in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers - so that Allah may enrage by them the disbelievers. Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward." (QS. Al-Fath 48: Verse 29) Do muslims believe that Jesus was raised to heavens? إِذۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوۡقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَأَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَكُمۡ فِيمَا كُنتُمۡ فِيهِ تَخۡتَلِفُونَ "[Mention] when Allah said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ." (QS. Aal-i-Imraan 3: Verse 55) What do muslims believe about the crucifixion of Jesus? وَقَوۡلِهِمۡ إِنَّا قَتَلۡنَا ٱلۡمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ٱبۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَٰكِن شُبِّهَ لَهُمۡ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّنۡهُ ۚ مَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍ إِلَّا ٱتِّبَاعَ ٱلظَّنِّ ۚ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ يَقِينَۢا "And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain." (QS. An-Nisaa 4: Verse 157) Do muslims believe in John son of Zechariah? فَنَادَتۡهُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٞ يُصَلِّي فِي ٱلۡمِحۡرَابِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحۡيَىٰ مُصَدِّقَۢا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَحَصُورًا وَنَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ "So the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the chamber, "Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of John, confirming a word from Allah and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous."" (QS. Aal-i-Imraan 3: Verse 39) يَٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ ٱسۡمُهُۥ يَحۡيَىٰ لَمۡ نَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبۡلُ سَمِيًّا "[He was told], "O Zechariah, indeed We give you good tidings of a boy whose name will be John. We have not assigned to any before [this] name."" (QS. Maryam 19: Verse 7) وَزَكَرِيَّا وَيَحۡيَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَإِلۡيَاسَ ۖ كُلّٞ مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ "And Zechariah and John and Jesus and Elias - and all were of the righteous." (QS. Al-An'aam 6: Verse 85) يَٰيَحۡيَىٰ خُذِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِقُوَّةٍ ۖ وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ ٱلۡحُكۡمَ صَبِيًّا "[Allah] said, "O John, take the Scripture with determination." And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy" (QS. Maryam 19: Verse 12) How God created Jesus without a father? إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَ ۖ خَلَقَهُۥ مِن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ "Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was." (QS. Aal-i-Imraan 3: Verse 59) Do muslims believe in Adam? وَقُلۡنَا يَٰٓئَادَمُ ٱسۡكُنۡ أَنتَ وَزَوۡجُكَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَكُـلَا مِنۡهَا رَغَدًا حَيۡثُ شِئۡتُمَا وَلَا تَقۡرَبَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ "And We said, "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers."" (QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 35) وَإِذۡ قُلۡنَا لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسۡجُدُواْ لِأٓدَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓاْ إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ فَفَسَقَ عَنۡ أَمۡرِ رَبِّهِۦٓ ۗ أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُۥ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُۥٓ أَوۡلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِي وَهُمۡ لَكُمۡ عَدُوُّۢ ۚ بِئۡسَ لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ بَدَلًا "And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated, except for Iblees. He was of the jinn and departed from the command of his Lord. Then will you take him and his descendants as allies other than Me while they are enemies to you? Wretched it is for the wrongdoers as an exchange." (QS. Al-Kahf 18: Verse 50) ...
Can we see God the same way we see other material objects? لَّا تُدۡرِكُهُ ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ وَهُوَ يُدۡرِكُ ٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرَ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلۡخَبِيرُ "Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision; and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted." (QS. Al-An'aam 6: Verse 103) Is God forgiving? إِن تَجۡتَنِبُواْ كَبَآئِرَ مَا تُنۡهَوۡنَ عَنۡهُ نُكَفِّرۡ عَنكُمۡ سَيِّئَاتِكُمۡ وَنُدۡخِلۡكُم مُّدۡخَلًا كَرِيمًا "If you avoid the major sins which you are forbidden, We will remove from you your lesser sins and admit you to a noble entrance [into Paradise]." (QS. An-Nisaa 4: Verse 31) قُلۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِي يُحۡبِبۡكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡ ذُنُوبَكُمۡ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ "Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."" (QS. Aal-i-Imraan 3: Verse 31) What Islam teaches muslims about dealing with peacful Christians and non-muslims? لَّا يَنۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَمۡ يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ فِي ٱلدِّينِ وَلَمۡ يُخۡرِجُوكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِكُمۡ أَن تَبَرُّوهُمۡ وَتُقۡسِطُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِمۡ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُقۡسِطِينَ "Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly." (QS. Al-Mumtahana 60: Verse 8) وَلَا تُجَٰدِلُوٓاْ أَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ إِلَّا بِٱلَّتِي هِيَ أَحۡسَنُ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ ۖ وَقُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱلَّذِيٓ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡنَا وَأُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكُمۡ وَإِلَٰهُنَا وَإِلَٰهُكُمۡ وَٰحِدٞ وَنَحۡنُ لَهُۥ مُسۡلِمُونَ "And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."" (QS. Al-Ankaboot 29: Verse 46) لَتَجِدَنَّ أَشَدَّ ٱلنَّاسِ عَدَٰوَةً لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱلۡيَهُودَ وَٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُواْ ۖ وَلَتَجِدَنَّ أَقۡرَبَهُم مَّوَدَّةً لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا نَصَٰرَىٰ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ مِنۡهُمۡ قِسِّيسِينَ وَرُهۡبَانًا وَأَنَّهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ "You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, "We are Christians." That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant." (QS. Al-Maaida 5: Verse 82) يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقۡنَٰكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ وَأُنثَىٰ وَجَعَلۡنَٰكُمۡ شُعُوبًا وَقَبَآئِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوٓاْ ۚ إِنَّ أَكۡرَمَكُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتۡقَىٰكُمۡ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٞ "O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted." (QS. Al-Hujuraat 49: Verse 13) Do muslims eat pork? إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡمَيۡتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحۡمَ ٱلۡخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ بِهِۦ لِغَيۡرِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ فَمَنِ ٱضۡطُرَّ غَيۡرَ بَاغٍ وَلَا عَادٍ فَلَآ إِثۡمَ عَلَيۡهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌ "He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], there is no sin upon him. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 173) Do muslims believe that a male is better than a female? وَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ مِن ذَكَرٍ أَوۡ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٞ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يَدۡخُلُونَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظۡلَمُونَ نَقِيرًا "And whoever does righteous deeds, whether male or female, while being a believer - those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged, [even as much as] the speck on a date seed." (QS. An-Nisaa 4: Verse 124) ....
Does Islam encourage muslims to fight non-muslims who don't fight muslims? وَإِن جَنَحُواْ لِلسَّلۡمِ فَٱجۡنَحۡ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ "And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also] and rely upon Allah. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing." (QS. Al-Anfaal 8: Verse 61) لَّا يَنۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱللَّهُ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَمۡ يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ فِي ٱلدِّينِ وَلَمۡ يُخۡرِجُوكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِكُمۡ أَن تَبَرُّوهُمۡ وَتُقۡسِطُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِمۡ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُقۡسِطِينَ "Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly." (QS. Al-Mumtahana 60: Verse 8) Do muslims fight and when? وَقَٰتِلُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُقَٰتِلُونَكُمۡ وَلَا تَعۡتَدُوٓاْ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُعۡتَدِينَ "Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors." (QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 190) وَٱقۡتُلُوهُمۡ حَيۡثُ ثَقِفۡتُمُوهُمۡ وَأَخۡرِجُوهُم مِّنۡ حَيۡثُ أَخۡرَجُوكُمۡ ۚ وَٱلۡفِتۡنَةُ أَشَدُّ مِنَ ٱلۡقَتۡلِ ۚ وَلَا تُقَٰتِلُوهُمۡ عِندَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِ حَتَّىٰ يُقَٰتِلُوكُمۡ فِيهِ ۖ فَإِن قَٰتَلُوكُمۡ فَٱقۡتُلُوهُمۡ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ "And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers." (QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 191) Do God forgive those non-muslims who stop fighting muslims? فَإِنِ ٱنتَهَوۡاْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ "And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 192) Do muslims believe that Jesus told about the coming of the Islamic prophet Muhammad/Ahmad PBUH? وَإِذۡ قَالَ عِيسَى ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ يَٰبَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ إِنِّي رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيۡكُم مُّصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةِ وَمُبَشِّرَۢا بِرَسُولٍ يَأۡتِي مِنۢ بَعۡدِي ٱسۡمُهُۥٓ أَحۡمَدُ ۖ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ قَالُواْ هَٰذَا سِحۡرٞ مُّبِينٞ "And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."" (QS. As-Saff 61: Verse 6) What does the Quran say about the people who followed Jesus? ثُمَّ قَفَّيۡنَا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِم بِرُسُلِنَا وَقَفَّيۡنَا بِعِيسَى ٱبۡنِ مَرۡيَمَ وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ ٱلۡإِنجِيلَ ۖ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ رَأۡفَةً وَرَحۡمَةً ۚ وَرَهۡبَانِيَّةً ٱبۡتَدَعُوهَا مَا كَتَبۡنَٰهَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ إِلَّا ٱبۡتِغَآءَ رِضۡوَٰنِ ٱللَّهِ فَمَا رَعَوۡهَا حَقَّ رِعَايَتِهَا ۖ فَئَاتَيۡنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ أَجۡرَهُمۡ ۖ وَكَثِيرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَٰسِقُونَ "Then We sent following their footsteps Our messengers and followed [them] with Jesus, the son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy and monasticism, which they innovated; We did not prescribe it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of Allah. But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient." (QS. Al-Hadid 57: Verse 27) Is God just with his servants? ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَيۡدِيكُمۡ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَيۡسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلۡعَبِيدِ "That is for what your hands have put forth and because Allah is not ever unjust to [His] servants."" (QS. Aal-i-Imraan 3: Verse 182) Does God help those who strive for him? وَٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَهۡدِيَنَّهُمۡ سُبُلَنَا .. "And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways... ." (QS. Al-Ankaboot 29: Verse 69) May Allah/God guide us all.
A very good and informative video, but she forgot to mention that women in Islam can hug and kiss their MEHRAMS meaning their brothers, fathers, sons, husbands, grand fathers and brothers of their moms and dads. But not cousins and husbands of their paternal and maternal aunts (among relatives).
Muslim woman here, we can hug young children, women, relatives. Hugging the opposite gender doesnt hold the same value to us. For non humans hugging between friends regardless of gender is the norm and how you express closeness. For muslim women, we have non muslim male friends and we are very clear in having boundaries so that male friend understand we appreciate their friendship as we converse with them, laugh with them and respect them. However, we dont wish to hug them. For non muslims going in for a hug is normal but for us not hugging men is normal. Its like how some Europeans kiss each on the cheek, in the UK most people don't practice that. Asian bow, most non asians don't practice that. Most people are comfortable with a friendly hug. For muslims we dont hug either. We tend to place our hands on our check. People adapt easily after this is explained. I have male friends and they arent bothered. We live in a world where opposite genders interact, muslims are more selective on the means but at the end of the day its really simple. Once our friends are used to that it, it become the norm. To the point my male friends would frick out if I hugged them thats how used to it they have become. Personality can be expressed in many ways. We are friendly by smiling, looking after our friends, having meaningful conversations and checking in with each other. Not hugging doesn't make us less friendly nor doesnt mean our friendships arent as valuable to us.
Hugging in Islam is not acceptable to someone who is not a family member. For example, my brother and I hug each other. My uncle and I hug each other, but of course I will not like intimate hugs. It will be uncomfortable. At my university, we make friends with the boys within respectful limits. We share close seats, we exchange pens and books, and we study together. We don't need to shake hands when we have " alsalam ealaykum" Of course, my love for my friend will not reach the point of crying for him on his death bed, hugging him in the presence of his wife. My journey with him will end when I find the husband that Allah chosen for me. My love to my friend will be to help his wife and pray for him. Thank you for the reaction 💙

The point about “at death”, as Muslims we also have specific burial customs. There are specific rules after someone passes away about who can touch the body. There is also a strict timeline on how soon the body must be buried. So that relative who is across the country might not even make it in time for the janazah (funeral). 6:40

You seem like a good and genuine people so I just thought I should mention that the “distance” between the two genders is just for stranger and the people who someone “can marry”. Like it’s okay for siblings to hug and for parents with their kids or grandkids, for also nephews with their aunts and uncles. These people are your family and of course you can appreciate and love them as one’s family. The way you looked at it is from a male perspective, which is okay, but you know how some males force themselves into the females all over the world. This is a way to protect females rights, the way I see it. I am a woman who works closely with both genders and I LOVE it when males be mindful of their distance and try to move out of the way when I do my job. There are also some cases that of course physical contact is unavoidable. As in hospitals and such. These cases are okay like it’s not really up to you to decide if it’s critical situation or something. So these exceptions are fine, and this isn’t just new, it always has been. Keeping your livelihood safe is important in Islam that’s why even the prohibitions become allowed in such cases. I agree that some people need to be open minded and accept/understand others, but you are looking at it from a single lens which is the western perspective. I don’t really like it when westerners say that we should do something different just because of their own views. We view these things as orders from the creator who knows what’s best for you and what’s not. If people TRULY live their life following the Islamic teachings completely then I swear you won’t see any problem. Even westerners who have studied religion very well and are not biased will know that this is the truth.
About hugs in Islam, you can hug the opposite gender of your family members like your child (even your adopted child), spouse, parents, parents siblings, siblings, siblings children and you can hug your cousins/nieces until they are 12

I think you have misunderstood the issue of not getting close to the opposite sex, because this does not include everyone. Rather, she can approach her father, her sisters, her paternal uncle, and her uncles. As for their children and other young strangers who are fit to be spouses, that is not acceptable.

There is a hadith (saying from the prophet, pbuh) that says if you do an ablution, and then put socks on, you keep the ablution under the socks. meaning, if you break the ablution (going to the bathroom, passing gas, etc) then the next time you do an ablution, if you haven't taken the socks off, all you have to do is wipe over them. the same is true for hijab. BUT this is a thing that people will just conveniently leave out: the socks referred to in this hadith are *leather* socks. meaning waterproof! normal cotton socks of today do not fit the bill to apply this hadith! but people will stop you taking your socks off at the mosque for ablution and insist you don't need to.

Yes you can still touch your close relatives, such as fathers, grandparents, husbands/spouses etc. Uncles and Aunties ARE included, but under a certain condition. Firstly, let's talk about the 2 types of people when it comes to who you can have physical contact to, mahram and non-mahram people. Mahram people are those you can have physical contact with, and for girls can show their hair. People who come under the mahram category are your spouses, parents, grandparents. They are also the people whom you cannot marry. Non-mahram people are quite the opposite of muharram people and are the people whom you can marry. Now back to aunties and uncles. Aunties and uncles that would be considered be your MAHRAMS are those of your parents blood. So your father's siblings and your mother's siblings. So for a woman, your uncle who is your dad's sister's husband would STILL be your non-mahram, even though he's your uncle. I'm also certain that cousins are considered your non-mahram too, though don't just rely on me do some research too 😅 Anyway that's what I was taught by both school and my parents. If I have said anything wrong don't feel threatened to correct me in the replies 😅

Look at Japan for example, no one will say that japanese people are backwards or weird because they dont hug strangers like people in the west, but when people in Saudi Arabia do the same thing people think it's strange or backwards or regressive. This is about the "hugging & shaking hand" part.. There's easier way to understand this rule by knowing this basic rule :
1. If the person you about to hug/shake hand are a person who you can get marry to, it's HARAM (forbidden).
2. Therefore a small child, your mom, grandma..you get the picture...they are HALAL (allowed).
You can only touch them hugging/hand shake once you get married. This is simply because human are weak to flesh.. A simple touch could end up to be something else..😅

You can feel compassion WITHOUT physical contact. As you say, "the world is changing", we have a digital life now. We could hang out with people simply just by talking or texting with them. Also, if any non-Muslim refuse to be touched or hugged, people will say "Well, that's their privacy and personal space. You can't invade it without their consent". Irony, huh? Also, isn't there are five love language that people often to talk these days? There soooo many ways to express the love and compassion. Like Dakara Ma presented in her videos, we smile to people, we share/give food to other people (family, neighboring, friends, or just a stranger in needs), be kind with others, helping them, and says something kind to support them.

I am a Muslim living in South Africa. My Christian neighbors have keys to my house. They enter and help themselves to my groceries/food even when I am not there. What's mine is there's. That includes the bathroom! So they enjoy liberties with us, but they have to 'istinja' when using our toilet. Its a win-win because they learn better hygiene.

We can hug close family like Spouse, siblings, parents grandparents, aunts, uncles... etc. You don’t alway have to wash your feet before prayer if you already washed them for a previous prayer that day and have your socks and shoes on.

There are actually other exceptions, for example you guys mentioned that it's a bit cold that you can't hug someone who's struggling with death and so on, well actually it's not that simple, now i can't just say it's halal or haram but it depends, if like your female relative is sick she is hurt and needed a hug im pretty sure it's cold to leave her like that, in cases like these Allah judges you by your intentions, the hug you'd give to someone who's sick is ofc without lustful intentions, and for that we say you can give a hug and the rest is up to Allah, also if she is the one who went for the hug of course you accept the hug, nothing wrong with that, your intention was to sooth the pain of someone else. And as usual, we always say Allah knows best.

In Islam, all thing in life has rules and guides to follow., it's guide us to we won't lost in our way, from wake up to sleep, such as: how to wake up so we feel grateful to be alive, how to take off our clothes, how to take a bath, how to dress, how to look at the mirror, how to cook, how to eat, how to drink, how to entering/exiting the house, how to depart to a journey (go to school/work/market/anywhere), how to study, how to work, how to sneeze, how to yawn, how to propose for marriage, how to do budgeting and spending money, how to behave around other people (parents, teacher, friends, or even stranger), how to take care of children, how to take care of parents, how to speak, how to stand in justice, how to forgive people, how to run a region, how to be leader, how to be a follower/supporter, and sooo many more that I can't write because I need to helping my sister. All of these and other rules you can find them in Qur'an and Sunnah.
P.S.: For non-Muslims, maybe these rules are so annoying to follow, "oh, it's my body and my life, so I'll do what I want". It's okay. But didn't all of us follows our country's rules (like taxes or traffic rules)? Even more close, didn't we all live in our parents' house, and they set up their rules, so we grow to be good person? For student, we have the school rules. Worker has their company rules. What's wrong living with guides, rules and order?

For example, if a man and a woman shake hands, and the man starts thinking he likes the woman just from that small touch, those thoughts could lead to bigger problems like arguments, sadness, or even more serious trouble.
So, Islam tries to stop these problems before they even start. By not having men and women touch, it stops any bad thoughts or actions early on. This way, everyone is protected, and we don't have to worry about fixing problems because we've stopped them from happening in the first place. It's all about making sure every single person is safe and respected.

When she talked about not hugging, she meant "strangers, not family members" .
But you can hug your family, parents, siblings, uncle and aunt, grandparents... etc.
The rule applies on non relatives.
Muslim women CAN hug fathers, brothers and uncles
10:20 there is actually something like that lol, instead of having to wash our feet every time you do ablution , you can instead lightly graze your socks with water , but this has some requirements aswell, like your socks have to be completely clean and you have to wear them after doing full body ablution (essentially just a shower with some extra steps) , then you can proceed to wetting your socks (lol) before prayer for the next day and a night then the ritual expires and you have to restart with a shower and clean socks. this might seem useless but trust me it makes a difference in winter if you suffer from chronic cold feet like me.
Hugging and hand shaking allowed for certain relatives. Like sister, mother , grandmother, aunt (sisters of mom & dad) etc... the persons you're not allowed to get married by the bond of blood.

The first thing I would like to clarify is that Islam has such perfect laws or rules that even in a progressing society you adapt to them with no problem whatsoever. Secondly, hugging or any physical contact is strictly prohibited when you don't know the opposite gender or they are not part of your family but hugging or other physical are allowed if it is your family. and this rule is to protect us so that someone doesn't take advantage of us.
I hear what your saying about the laws, I just know that depending on who your talking to, they might disagree. We would have to go through every rule, and even among Muslims I bet there would be disagreements. Life is very nuanced, and rules and laws evolve over time. I bet that even for a Muslim things have changed over the past 100 years, depending on where you live, relating to what your allowed to do and not do, as it relates to the Quran.

There are a few misunderstandings that often occur between Muslims and other religions. Like when you don't have contact with the opposite sex, where people think Muslims are 100% unable to interact with the opposite sex. Like a woman can't hug their little brother or father, that's not true. Interactions between women such as holding hands, hugging or even kissing men on the cheek are limited to men who are not directly related to the family. Muslim women can interact with their sons, with their brothers, with their fathers, with their uncles, with their grandfathers, with their cousins, because they have a close family relationship with her. However, this limitation only applies to people outside the family, including male friends, brothers-in-law, aunt's husband. The reason is quite simple because physical contact can cause feelings for both of them. And in Islam this can potentially lead to something undesirable, and often harms women. So the prohibition against having contact with the opposite sex is a limitation for men and protection for women. That's why touching the opposite sex is not a sin, it is a rule to protect the name of both.
As a traditionalist myself i see liberalism as a very serious threat not just to religious people but all humanity so if we started to be what so called "open minded" then we're doomed cause eventually we will be completely liberalized and that would be the end of tradition
I don't think you can have liberalism with out conservatism, and visa versa. They actually work off of each other, as part of our human development. Both sides can have disfunction in my opinion, and one is not better then the other.

I think @monder9224 meant in a more meta narrative manner rather than the mere political dichotomy between conservatism and liberalism which both can be characterized as stemming from a wider ‘Liberal’ (modernist) view. Traditionalism is not a political perspective, rather a pre-modernist worldview itself. As it stands, it gives perhaps one of the strongest critiques of Modernism (by extension of liberalism)

Just so you know, a girl can hug her biological dad, biological uncle, brother(biological or step-brother from mother's side but only If he got breastfeeded by the mom), biological son and her husband.
Also, a boy can hug his biological biological mom, biological aunt, sister(biological or step-sister from mother's side but only If she got breastfeeded by the mom), biological daughter and his wife.
The muslims can Hug their Brothers or sisters.

(QS. Aal-i-Imraan 3: Verse 84)

(QS. An-Nisaa 4: Verse 163)
Do muslims believe in Jesus and his miracles?
إِذۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَى ٱبۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ ٱذۡكُرۡ نِعۡمَتِي عَلَيۡكَ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَتِكَ إِذۡ أَيَّدتُّكَ بِرُوحِ ٱلۡقُدُسِ تُكَلِّمُ ٱلنَّاسَ فِي ٱلۡمَهۡدِ وَكَهۡلًا ۖ وَإِذۡ عَلَّمۡتُكَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ وَٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةَ وَٱلۡإِنجِيلَ ۖ وَإِذۡ تَخۡلُقُ مِنَ ٱلطِّينِ كَهَيۡئَةِ ٱلطَّيۡرِ بِإِذۡنِي فَتَنفُخُ فِيهَا فَتَكُونُ طَيۡرَۢا بِإِذۡنِي ۖ وَتُبۡرِئُ ٱلۡأَكۡمَهَ وَٱلۡأَبۡرَصَ بِإِذۡنِي ۖ وَإِذۡ تُخۡرِجُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ بِإِذۡنِي ۖ وَإِذۡ كَفَفۡتُ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ عَنكَ إِذۡ جِئۡتَهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ فَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحۡرٞ مُّبِينٞ
"[The Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure/Holy Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, "This is not but obvious magic.""
(QS. Al-Maaida 5: Verse 110)
Do muslims believe in the Trinity?
لَّقَدۡ كَفَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ثَالِثُ ثَلَٰثَةٍ ۘ وَمَا مِنۡ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّآ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞ ۚ وَإِن لَّمۡ يَنتَهُواْ عَمَّا يَقُولُونَ لَيَمَسَّنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
"They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment."
(QS. Al-Maaida 5: Verse 73)
يَٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَا تَغۡلُواْ فِي دِينِكُمۡ وَلَا تَقُولُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَقَّ ۚ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَتُهُۥٓ أَلۡقَىٰهَآ إِلَىٰ مَرۡيَمَ وَرُوحٞ مِّنۡهُ ۖ فَئَامِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ ۖ وَلَا تَقُولُواْ ثَلَٰثَةٌ ۚ ٱنتَهُواْ خَيۡرًا لَّكُمۡ ۚ إِنَّمَا ٱللَّهُ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞ ۖ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥٓ أَن يَكُونَ لَهُۥ وَلَدٞ ۘ لَّهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ وَكِيلًا
"O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs."
(QS. An-Nisaa 4: Verse 171)

وَإِذۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَى ٱبۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ ءَأَنتَ قُلۡتَ لِلنَّاسِ ٱتَّخِذُونِي وَأُمِّيَ إِلَٰهَيۡنِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ قَالَ سُبۡحَٰنَكَ مَا يَكُونُ لِيٓ أَنۡ أَقُولَ مَا لَيۡسَ لِي بِحَقٍّ ۚ إِن كُنتُ قُلۡتُهُۥ فَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتَهُۥ ۚ تَعۡلَمُ مَا فِي نَفۡسِي وَلَآ أَعۡلَمُ مَا فِي نَفۡسِكَ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلَّٰمُ ٱلۡغُيُوبِ
"And [beware the Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?'" He will say, "Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen."
(QS. Al-Maaida 5: Verse 116)

Who is Prophet Muhammad?
كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا فِيكُمۡ رَسُولًا مِّنكُمۡ يَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا وَيُزَكِّيكُمۡ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ وَيُعَلِّمُكُم مَّا لَمۡ تَكُونُواْ تَعۡلَمُونَ
"Just as We have sent among you a messenger from yourselves reciting to you Our verses and purifying you and teaching you the Book and wisdom and teaching you that which you did not know."
(QS. Al-Baqara 2: Verse 151)
مُّحَمَّدٞ رَّسُولُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥٓ أَشِدَّآءُ عَلَى ٱلۡكُفَّارِ رُحَمَآءُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ ۖ تَرَىٰهُمۡ رُكَّعًا سُجَّدًا يَبۡتَغُونَ فَضۡلًا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضۡوَٰنًا ۖ سِيمَاهُمۡ فِي وُجُوهِهِم مِّنۡ أَثَرِ ٱلسُّجُودِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مَثَلُهُمۡ فِي ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةِ ۚ وَمَثَلُهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡإِنجِيلِ كَزَرۡعٍ أَخۡرَجَ شَطۡئَهُۥ فَئَازَرَهُۥ فَٱسۡتَغۡلَظَ فَٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَىٰ سُوقِهِۦ يُعۡجِبُ ٱلزُّرَّاعَ لِيَغِيظَ بِهِمُ ٱلۡكُفَّارَ ۗ وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ مِنۡهُم مَّغۡفِرَةً وَأَجۡرًا عَظِيمَۢا
"Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in prayer], seeking bounty from Allah and [His] pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. That is their description in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers - so that Allah may enrage by them the disbelievers. Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward."
(QS. Al-Fath 48: Verse 29)
Do muslims believe that Jesus was raised to heavens?
إِذۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوۡقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَأَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَكُمۡ فِيمَا كُنتُمۡ فِيهِ تَخۡتَلِفُونَ
"[Mention] when Allah said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ."
(QS. Aal-i-Imraan 3: Verse 55)
What do muslims believe about the crucifixion of Jesus?
وَقَوۡلِهِمۡ إِنَّا قَتَلۡنَا ٱلۡمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ٱبۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ رَسُولَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَٰكِن شُبِّهَ لَهُمۡ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّنۡهُ ۚ مَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍ إِلَّا ٱتِّبَاعَ ٱلظَّنِّ ۚ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ يَقِينَۢا
"And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain."
(QS. An-Nisaa 4: Verse 157)
Do muslims believe in John son of Zechariah?
فَنَادَتۡهُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٞ يُصَلِّي فِي ٱلۡمِحۡرَابِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحۡيَىٰ مُصَدِّقَۢا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَحَصُورًا وَنَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
"So the angels called him while he was standing in prayer in the chamber, "Indeed, Allah gives you good tidings of John, confirming a word from Allah and [who will be] honorable, abstaining [from women], and a prophet from among the righteous.""
(QS. Aal-i-Imraan 3: Verse 39)
يَٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ ٱسۡمُهُۥ يَحۡيَىٰ لَمۡ نَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبۡلُ سَمِيًّا
"[He was told], "O Zechariah, indeed We give you good tidings of a boy whose name will be John. We have not assigned to any before [this] name.""
(QS. Maryam 19: Verse 7)
وَزَكَرِيَّا وَيَحۡيَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَإِلۡيَاسَ ۖ كُلّٞ مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
"And Zechariah and John and Jesus and Elias - and all were of the righteous."
(QS. Al-An'aam 6: Verse 85)
يَٰيَحۡيَىٰ خُذِ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ بِقُوَّةٍ ۖ وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ ٱلۡحُكۡمَ صَبِيًّا
"[Allah] said, "O John, take the Scripture with determination." And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy"
(QS. Maryam 19: Verse 12)
How God created Jesus without a father?
إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَ ۖ خَلَقَهُۥ مِن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ
"Indeed, the example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then He said to him, "Be," and he was."
(QS. Aal-i-Imraan 3: Verse 59)

وَقُلۡنَا يَٰٓئَادَمُ ٱسۡكُنۡ أَنتَ وَزَوۡجُكَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَكُـلَا مِنۡهَا رَغَدًا حَيۡثُ شِئۡتُمَا وَلَا تَقۡرَبَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
"And We said, "O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers.""

وَإِذۡ قُلۡنَا لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسۡجُدُواْ لِأٓدَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓاْ إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ فَفَسَقَ عَنۡ أَمۡرِ رَبِّهِۦٓ ۗ أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُۥ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُۥٓ أَوۡلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِي وَهُمۡ لَكُمۡ عَدُوُّۢ ۚ بِئۡسَ لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ بَدَلًا
"And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated, except for Iblees. He was of the jinn and departed from the command of his Lord. Then will you take him and his descendants as allies other than Me while they are enemies to you? Wretched it is for the wrongdoers as an exchange."

Is God forgiving?
إِن تَجۡتَنِبُواْ كَبَآئِرَ مَا تُنۡهَوۡنَ عَنۡهُ نُكَفِّرۡ عَنكُمۡ سَيِّئَاتِكُمۡ وَنُدۡخِلۡكُم مُّدۡخَلًا كَرِيمًا
"If you avoid the major sins which you are forbidden, We will remove from you your lesser sins and admit you to a noble entrance [into Paradise]."

What Islam teaches muslims about dealing with peacful Christians and non-muslims?

"You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, "We are Christians." That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant."

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقۡنَٰكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ وَأُنثَىٰ وَجَعَلۡنَٰكُمۡ شُعُوبًا وَقَبَآئِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوٓاْ ۚ إِنَّ أَكۡرَمَكُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتۡقَىٰكُمۡ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٞ

Do muslims eat pork?

Do muslims believe that a male is better than a female?

"And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers."

Do God forgive those non-muslims who stop fighting muslims?

But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic.""

What does the Quran say about the people who followed Jesus?
ثُمَّ قَفَّيۡنَا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِم بِرُسُلِنَا وَقَفَّيۡنَا بِعِيسَى ٱبۡنِ مَرۡيَمَ وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ ٱلۡإِنجِيلَ ۖ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ رَأۡفَةً وَرَحۡمَةً ۚ وَرَهۡبَانِيَّةً ٱبۡتَدَعُوهَا مَا كَتَبۡنَٰهَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ إِلَّا ٱبۡتِغَآءَ رِضۡوَٰنِ ٱللَّهِ فَمَا رَعَوۡهَا حَقَّ رِعَايَتِهَا ۖ فَئَاتَيۡنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ أَجۡرَهُمۡ ۖ وَكَثِيرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَٰسِقُونَ
"Then We sent following their footsteps Our messengers and followed [them] with Jesus, the son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy and monasticism, which they innovated; We did not prescribe it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of Allah. But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient."
(QS. Al-Hadid 57: Verse 27)
Is God just with his servants?
ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَيۡدِيكُمۡ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَيۡسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلۡعَبِيدِ
"That is for what your hands have put forth and because Allah is not ever unjust to [His] servants.""

Does God help those who strive for him?
وَٱلَّذِينَ جَٰهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَهۡدِيَنَّهُمۡ سُبُلَنَا ..
"And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways... ."

We can hug our fathers and relatives

A very good and informative video, but she forgot to mention that women in Islam can hug and kiss their MEHRAMS meaning their brothers, fathers, sons, husbands, grand fathers and brothers of their moms and dads. But not cousins and husbands of their paternal and maternal aunts (among relatives).

Muslim woman here, we can hug young children, women, relatives. Hugging the opposite gender doesnt hold the same value to us. For non humans hugging between friends regardless of gender is the norm and how you express closeness. For muslim women, we have non muslim male friends and we are very clear in having boundaries so that male friend understand we appreciate their friendship as we converse with them, laugh with them and respect them. However, we dont wish to hug them. For non muslims going in for a hug is normal but for us not hugging men is normal. Its like how some Europeans kiss each on the cheek, in the UK most people don't practice that. Asian bow, most non asians don't practice that. Most people are comfortable with a friendly hug. For muslims we dont hug either. We tend to place our hands on our check. People adapt easily after this is explained. I have male friends and they arent bothered. We live in a world where opposite genders interact, muslims are more selective on the means but at the end of the day its really simple. Once our friends are used to that it, it become the norm. To the point my male friends would frick out if I hugged them thats how used to it they have become. Personality can be expressed in many ways. We are friendly by smiling, looking after our friends, having meaningful conversations and checking in with each other. Not hugging doesn't make us less friendly nor doesnt mean our friendships arent as valuable to us.

Hugging in Islam is not acceptable to someone who is not a family member. For example, my brother and I hug each other. My uncle and I hug each other, but of course I will not like intimate hugs. It will be uncomfortable. At my university, we make friends with the boys within respectful limits. We share close seats, we exchange pens and books, and we study together. We don't need to shake hands when we have " alsalam ealaykum"
Of course, my love for my friend will not reach the point of crying for him on his death bed, hugging him in the presence of his wife. My journey with him will end when I find the husband that Allah chosen for me. My love to my friend will be to help his wife and pray for him.

But it honestly just like hejab is mainly islam's way to protect women, which is why seeing people say Islam is is oppressing women is weird to me like women is extremely valued in Islam alot of "oppressive" stuff that are only there to protect women prevent mis understandings and while hejab isnt the most comfortable physically it is mentally

The point about “at death”, as Muslims we also have specific burial customs. There are specific rules after someone passes away about who can touch the body. There is also a strict timeline on how soon the body must be buried. So that relative who is across the country might not even make it in time for the janazah (funeral). 6:40

when we say this, we mean no touching people who are not family to u, or as we call them "non-Mahrams" which are the people who we should put hijab in front of them. so ofc u can hug ur brother or father or grandfather or uncle...
plus in islam there is no such thing as "close friendships" with the other gender, but only friendships that are baced on respect if so. just like a worker would respect their co-worker and would do anything to help, but no more than that.. no hanging out and stuff.
You seem like a good and genuine people so I just thought I should mention that the “distance” between the two genders is just for stranger and the people who someone “can marry”. Like it’s okay for siblings to hug and for parents with their kids or grandkids, for also nephews with their aunts and uncles. These people are your family and of course you can appreciate and love them as one’s family. The way you looked at it is from a male perspective, which is okay, but you know how some males force themselves into the females all over the world. This is a way to protect females rights, the way I see it. I am a woman who works closely with both genders and I LOVE it when males be mindful of their distance and try to move out of the way when I do my job. There are also some cases that of course physical contact is unavoidable. As in hospitals and such. These cases are okay like it’s not really up to you to decide if it’s critical situation or something. So these exceptions are fine, and this isn’t just new, it always has been. Keeping your livelihood safe is important in Islam that’s why even the prohibitions become allowed in such cases.
I agree that some people need to be open minded and accept/understand others, but you are looking at it from a single lens which is the western perspective. I don’t really like it when westerners say that we should do something different just because of their own views. We view these things as orders from the creator who knows what’s best for you and what’s not. If people TRULY live their life following the Islamic teachings completely then I swear you won’t see any problem. Even westerners who have studied religion very well and are not biased will know that this is the truth.

About hugs in Islam, you can hug the opposite gender of your family members like your child (even your adopted child), spouse, parents, parents siblings, siblings, siblings children and you can hug your cousins/nieces until they are 12
We are allowed to hug anyone that is related to us that can not possibly be our husbands in the future. Example grandfathers, uncles, my dad, brothers, sons, nephews… and I do agree with your point that with anything there are consequences, but if you compare one is clearly better than the other one. In other words, if you close the door and the window how much air can get in compares to leaving the door/ window open
I think you have misunderstood the issue of not getting close to the opposite sex, because this does not include everyone. Rather, she can approach her father, her sisters, her paternal uncle, and her uncles. As for their children and other young strangers who are fit to be spouses, that is not acceptable.

6:35 now that's a bit of a misconception; you can hug your brothers and father and some relatives if they're your direct uncle or an uncle you're close to. Like even when they're married, they can hug their father-in-law, but I should also mention that brother-in-laws aren't allowed to do so since it can mean different things based on peoples perspectives. I should also mention that if the person has not reached the age of puberty yet, they usually are allowed to hug people of the opposite gender be it their cousins or just friends. I should also mention that when it comes to intimacy it's fine since you have a different kind of relationship with the person than a usual friend of the opposite gender.
10:25 you're absolutely right, and I even have an example about this exact topic, wudu! (ablution, as she translated in the video). There is a hadith (saying from the prophet, pbuh) that says if you do an ablution, and then put socks on, you keep the ablution under the socks. meaning, if you break the ablution (going to the bathroom, passing gas, etc) then the next time you do an ablution, if you haven't taken the socks off, all you have to do is wipe over them. the same is true for hijab. BUT this is a thing that people will just conveniently leave out: the socks referred to in this hadith are *leather* socks. meaning waterproof! normal cotton socks of today do not fit the bill to apply this hadith! but people will stop you taking your socks off at the mosque for ablution and insist you don't need to.

Yes you can still touch your close relatives, such as fathers, grandparents, husbands/spouses etc.
Uncles and Aunties ARE included, but under a certain condition.
Firstly, let's talk about the 2 types of people when it comes to who you can have physical contact to, mahram and non-mahram people. Mahram people are those you can have physical contact with, and for girls can show their hair. People who come under the mahram category are your spouses, parents, grandparents. They are also the people whom you cannot marry.
Non-mahram people are quite the opposite of muharram people and are the people whom you can marry.
Now back to aunties and uncles. Aunties and uncles that would be considered be your MAHRAMS are those of your parents blood. So your father's siblings and your mother's siblings. So for a woman, your uncle who is your dad's sister's husband would STILL be your non-mahram, even though he's your uncle.
I'm also certain that cousins are considered your non-mahram too, though don't just rely on me do some research too 😅
Anyway that's what I was taught by both school and my parents. If I have said anything wrong don't feel threatened to correct me in the replies 😅
