One great song from a terrific band . Had the pleasure of seeing them live twice . John Lees on guitar ( just awesome ) . Still enjoy hearing their music still .
I was fortunate enough to see them live back in May of 1973 and again early in '74. Brilliant concerts and great musicians. Those were definitely the days!
These guys were proper musicians, not like all that x factor manufactured garbage we have these days. Great band, first heard them was I was about 11 and I am now 46!
How come we never heard of BJH here in the United States? We were gypped!! What a great band. Sorry I missed you guys back in my youth, but glad to have found you now (at 69).
I think they even recorded one album in the USA, but never really became famous over there. Not many of their albums were even released in the USA, I think.
@@roywuelling3091 KSHE played some great music back in the day! I used to listen on the drive to the airport. Back in England I saw BJH live a couple of times in the early to mid seventies. Excellent concerts.
A great band from Oldham (I believe) and very kindly allowed our band to borrow their PA system for a gig at the Explosion club in Manchester. Much respect and great memories. I think they were very succesful in Germany. Listening now, I can hear a distinctive Manhester sound that was heard in Sad Cafe and Simply Red.
Remember listening to this when I was young, on radio Luxembourg, they were definitely the days even though I stayed up late listening under the sheets , looking back now , the music was music it still rocks today even after all these years. Wish those days were here again
Jeez this brings back great memories of a time when music was music, and life was alot simpler, still rocks today even after all these years. True music never gets old. Shame their music isn't played much now , thank God we got places like this.
This is one of the most criminally underrated bands I ever heard. The original 4 piece had some magic. After Wooly left, the band wasn't the same... RIP Mel...
Ahh'.. the 'whistle test years' coincided with the best years of my life playing in my own rock bands around GLASGOW in the '70's.even the amateur and semi pro bands around at the time were often excellent.
How did this band escape my attention for so long ? ( I'm 58 years old ) Saw this clip of BJH playing this song on some retro " Top of the pops " compilation. Great stuff, such a good song played so well in a " laid back vibe " kind of way. If it was French it would be lounging around drinking Cognac and coffee whilst smoking a cigar, if you know what I mean.
Absolutely Amazing... got the EP of this somewhere :-) Only band I have ever saw live, back in the mid 70's, will never forget. In memory of Mel and Wolly, and may John and Les continue for a while longer. People of the world need decent quality music and meaningful lyrics to listen to, even more so in these turbulent times. Thank you for the joy your music has given me for 45 years. (and a big thanks my old mate Malcolm who introduced me to them via the "Everyone Is Everybody Else" album and his favourite track, Child of the Universe).
I've been trying to find this song for over thirty years now..... Knew it was BJH but i was beginning to wonder if I'd picked the group or the title up wrong. Searched on Amazon for Greatest Hits played this track... Suddenly I'm 16 years old again loving music like this. Brilliant track and a joy to hear again xx
Glad my wife is from Europe. She introduced me to them 27 years ago. Found the albums and brought them back here. Thanks for posting one of my favorite songs.

BJH were very popular in France, but not as much as in England or Germany. This one is a real neat. I love it. And the crystal voice of Les Holroyd is so special.

great melodic symphonic rock band, very underated
found this album "octoberun" at a flea market cause i dug the cover, but this song on it blew me away. most underated band!!
A great group that for some reason never caught on big..they never miss a beat..or anything in this live version of their song ..my fav. by them.
They never seemed to get played on the radio, which had to be down to fashions, but my sister started listening to them in the early 80s.
Ahh'.. the 'whistle test years' coincided with the best years of my life playing in my own rock bands around GLASGOW in the '70's.even the amateur and semi pro bands around at the time were often excellent.
