You guys at Sweetwater should do a pedalboard and/or rig contest. Where folks can submit a photo of their board and/or rig and you guys choose your favorite(s). Not sure what a good “reward” would be, but the contest would be fun no doubt!
My old guitar teacher would win it. His pedal board is NASTY. He’s got them all hooked up to a VHT Special 6 Ultra, that thing takes pedals like a champ. But his pedal board is just wow, he calls it his “baby”
If anyone was wondering, I just made mine out of ply wood and drilled about 10 1” holes in them and but magnet material on the board and on the back of my pedals. It looks cool and it’s easy to stick the pedal on and off
This is fairly obvious but this is one of the best pieces of content ive seen, its basic information but it helps me a lot, im not much of a gear head, so I learned a lot
right, it taught me almost everything i need to know except power supply now. i didnt even think about that before but i noticed they didnt go into what his power supply situation looked like on the studio board.
Great Chemistry with these two. Love Mitch's spirit. Could listen to him all day. Doesn't hurt that there's a lot of great information in this video too. Thanks, Sweetwater!
My board is melinine board covered with diamond plate I strap them in with zip ties through the backing plate of the pedal. Also have 2 led lights that are reflected by diamond plate and helps in dark stage performances.
I love geeking out with Sweetwater 🖤 please more content like we might be passed this but there’s a lot of new young artist on the rise that need this info . And me well I just enjoy it so much is like watching your favorite movie all over again lol . Great video Sweetwater that’s a solid 10 🙌
You’re going to be moving them around and adjusting them so you want the glue set well on your pedals. You should attach the hook to your pedals and let them set for an hour before you try attaching the pedals to your board.
I found this out the hard way. Also remember to remove rubber bottom plates (if the pedals have them) and clean the adhesive residue completely off before applying the hook and loop tape. Of course if you aren't going to move the pedal for a couple hours, it is probably fine to apply the tape then put it on the board right away at let it set in place.
Another trick to use would be to heat up the glued side to both strips. It helps with the adhesion to the metal on your pedal or you could even use a hair dryer to warm up the underside of your pedal before you apply the velcro. Just be careful NOT to get your pedal really hot to avoid damaging it.
these are two guys I respect. thank you! So what have I learned? Well, buy a Pedaltrain Pedalboard with big fucking slots so you can hide your cable issues below... thank you!
Good day gentlemen. Just as a matter of interest, In this video about the larger pedal boards, I do not understand how the items on the larger pedal boards could be so jammed together with input jacks on the right and output jacks on the left. There was no explanation about how inter-connections are made in the circumstances. In organising pedal boards one above the other, I find that, as a guitarist myself making my own pedal boards, it is extremely inconvenient to have to step over one pedal to activate another?
For the CryBay Wah. Did you unscrew the rubber monts thats on the wah then velcro it to the board or did you just set the wah on the board without velcro?
I use ammon pedalboard. Enough for Vox wah pedal and other 6 effect pedal. Before i used daisy chain. I had power issue. And now I use pedal power supply, problem solve.
Hello! That's a complex question because there are obviously lots of pedals and lots of types of keyboards, but in the vast majority of cases with most keyboards and pedals, you certainly can! If you'd like to go into more detail, please call my number below. Thanks for your interest! Nick LaMendola, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1660, nick_lamendola@sweetwater.com
Hi, Karaya TV. If you’re using a pedal that has rubber feet on the bottom, you’ll need to remove those to get velcro on the bottom and make them stick to the board. Friedman boards would use hook and loop for keeping pedals secured. Thanks for your interest! Charlie Davis, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1320, charlie_davis@sweetwater.com
Hi, Is it ok to use one proper power board and to it add, connect a power brick that will power up three guitar pedals in total? I'm using Katana 50 amp and plan to get something like Boss noise suppressor, Revv G3, and a Korg tuner. Thanks 😁
Hi, Dejan. Yes, that will work fine. With that setup you'd be able to utilize the effects in your Katana along with whatever pedals you add in the front end. Thanks for your interest! Charlie Davis, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1320, charlie_davis@sweetwater.com
Hi, Jacob. While Velcro continues to be the most common way to connect pedals to a board, there are some other options. One would be a Dual Lock material. It is similar to Velcro but stronger and locks in differently. Zip ties would be another option depending on the board you're using. You could also do something like a Temple Board, which uses their own locking plate system. Thanks for your interest! Informative video, but I'm wondering how such an awesome company can put out such dry, boring videos? Losen up the collar, have a little fun, don't be afraid to rock out! Or, at the very least, show a little personality. Love the website, and Josh has been ridiculously helpful every time I've called. I genuinely LOVE doing business with Sweetwater. But I can't watch your videos without falling asleep. Even with Rob Scallon! *Rob!* One of the funniest, and in my opinion the BEST guitar related UA-camrs on the planet, and your feature with him nearly put me to sleep! How do you manage to make *him* of all people boring?
@@hosoiarchives4858 Oh I see, thanks! Sounded kinda creepy when said like that. Is that really a common scenario for a rock guitarist in the US? Because that sounds like a very specific thing to mention when talking about a pedalboard... "Here's our new pedalboard, perfect for playing at art gallery openings!"
After you watch, give this video a thumbs up and subscribe! 😎🤘
Sweetwater I really want to get this board ...... I really wanna be an very famous guitarist .... !! Maybe some day, we will meet together soon
Do you plug the board directly into the interface or what is the best way to use a board in a studio setting?
Why is the water sweet? Why?

Only guitar players would need an instructional video on Velcro.
you are a cynical bastard... I like you!
ya
I wanted an instruction video ok how to be a pedal. Not about Velcro

Did you drill holes for cable management?
Would the magnets not mess with the electronics inside the pedals?
Mitch and Don, the dynamic duo of pedalboards. This was really helpful and informative. Thanks!

I don't know what your talking about with velcro. I use duallock
You two should do a podcast!!

When u travel with the pedalboard in its case, does the roof of the case bother the knobs?
nice video :-) you don't have a noise gate pedal in your setup?
I call dibs on the demos !!! lol

How do you make the wah stick. Do you remove the pegs from the bottom? And also on the Friedman is that hook and loop as well or stays in place?

Sweetwater man...
I’d be embarrassed. My pedals are mainly Boss, Tube Screamer and Danalectro. I did finally find an original Cry Baby 535.
Right after video dude on the right went back to the club where he works as a manager.

I watched this and still put the hook side of the Velcro on the board. Whoops
Time for a hair cut Don, it's hip to be square.
no
Why do we need assistance if we can just do it by ourself 😑
Hook and loop? Its been called velcro for years. heh
velcro is a trade name for hook and loop
