I always thicken gravy with flour. The thing I sometimes do with boxed macaroni and cheese is add cooked ground beef, chopped onion, and a can of diced tomatoes. Makes an easy goulash.
What great options for beans ! Im thinking adding nutritional yeast . Giving it a cheesy flavor. Maybe substituting the white beans with pureed butternut squash for your " gravy ". Love the way you add tidbits from your fridge or counter .
I thought about nutritional yeast too! I think that would be delicious. Someone told me about the Better than Bouillon vegetarian smoky chipotle seasoning. That might be fun too to create a southwestern style mix.
@@charlottekearn5185boil potatoes and carrots until tender. Put in a blender and puree. I use the liquid I cooked them in to thin. Add salt, garlic powder and onion powder and puree again.
Wow, what a concept for those beans! I want to try that. I watched your video as I was eating lunch and your first meal looked almost the same as mine lol. I had over bought a bunch of meatballs so I fried those up with green peppers and added stewed tomatoes. and pasta. YUM! I made your vinny's black bean soup again last Tuesday, it was even better than last time! I think I added more cumin this time. Thanks for all the great videos Michelle. God bless!❤
What great ideas Michelle, I am going to be playing around with bean gravy now. Also I was reading ideas of what other people wrote in the comments, what great ideas they have too. Charlotte
Thank you for sharing these wonderful dishes! I want to try them all. I am going to have to rewatch this video a few more times to make sure I get it right.
Beans are amazing! Once a week, I make the beans described in a BuzzFeed article from 2019 called "Bodega Beans Are The Best Thing To Eat When You’re Broke." I use canned large lima beans, which sort of create a creamy gravy in the pan when you cook them. They are delicious!
Thanks for new ideas, cooking has been so difficult as my husband is not well and doesn’t care to eat so I appreciate the simple meals for myself, easy to fix thanks!
I knew you’d really enjoy this meal. The spinach and roasted tomatoes sound like a great addition to the pasta with bean gravy. It looks so beautiful. I think I’d love some parsley in it too. And def a little Romano cheese on top. Thanks for trying it out and adding your own flair to it 😊
Bean gravey is an awesome idea. I eat beans on toast once in a while. When boxed macaroni and cheese was cheap I would use that pasta for macaroni salad. Then the cheese packet blended with 1/2 & 1/2 OR evaporated milk makes excellent cheese sauce. I think blended bean gravy would make excellent gravy for meat and have extra protein with less carbs. Good job as always. Thank you
I love to make homemade hamburger helper. It is one of my husband's favorite meals. I only use a little bit of ground beef like you did, plus onion powder or onion flakes for a little extra flavor. As a bonus, I can literally have dinner on the table in 20 minutes. Great video as usual Michelle!!
I love these recipes so much. After all the press about beans being a way to extend lifespan, I hope you make more videos using beans. As always, thank you for sharing. 🤩
@@daphnelattimer9952 I like to rinse them. The. I will put them in a pot making sure I have them covered my a couple inches. I will add a bay leaf, garlic, onion or any seasonings I want. I bring it up to a boil then lower to a simmer and let it go. I keep an eye on it and add more water as needed. I leave the salt out until the end as salt can make the beans seem tough. If they are older beans try soaking overnight. That can help soften them up.
I made it with can garbanzo beans spinach and zucchini and can mushrooms and I roasted canned tomatoes 😂 and the only noodles I had was whole wheat spiral noodles but my husband thought it was good. Meatless Sunday 😂 Thanks that was fun.
You might like this, Pinto Bean Fudge, seriously, gluten free, diabetic friendly and delicious. Get 9oz sugar free dark chocolate chips sweetened with erythritol, 15oz can plain pinto beans (drain, rinse, blend with 1/2 cup of water till smooth), mix blended beans into melted chocolate chips, harden in refrigerator. Texture & taste of fudge.
Bean gravy on toast….as a kid we had chipped beef on toast, commonly called S.O.S. (💩On A Shingle). 🙀Am I the only one who remembers this? Of course, veggie version would be bean gravy. THOUGHT: Walmart has beans w/ spices already blended in, like Bushes & Serious Bean Co. Saw a recipe from Serious Bean, Carolina Gold w/ mustard, blended like a sandwich spread. Makes so much sense
Thanks for the breakdown! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
Huh. I bet that if you’re like me and you find chopping garlic to be an almighty pain in the butt? I bet that after you cook it, you could toss it into the beans before purée ing them and that’d be great.
I never thought about using beans as a gravy! Since I eat mostly vegetarian meals, this is a great option. 😊
Save the fat from the pan. It’s good to use in other meals. Adds flavor and saves on oil/fat costs.
Just the tip of sticking the emersion blender right into the can is fantastic thank you
Ooh. Trying these.
I’ve used the cannellini beans for a lemon “cream” sauce for a vegan alfredo’ish veggie pasta dish.
That sounds delicious! I have to try that! Thanks for sharing!
Cannelloni beans also make a great chickpea replacement in hummus.
I'm going to have to try this!
I loved this!!! I have to limit my animal protein & this idea alone gives me many options I’ve never thought about before!! Thank you!!!

I thought about nooch but I also thought about pecorino. A little bit goes a long way
Potatoes can also be used to make a cheese sauce. Beans are great for protien
Can you say how you do this? I love cheese sauce and I always have potatoes.

I do the same but also add cashews, nutritional yeast, and lemon juice to a high powered blender with the potatoes, carrots, water, and seasonings.
@@donnadkshad6213 I will be trying that. Thanks
Wow! I never thought the flavor profile of beans could be so completely transformed. Thanks 👍🏻
Will definitely try some of these, thank you!

These are great! Thanks! Also, I watched and enjoyed "Later Daters". Hopefully you can get this i the US. Bye for now. ♡
yes, it's on Netflix. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm planning on checking this out this evening! 😁
I would have swapped the ground beef for lentils, get more servings and have money left over for some vegetables.
that's what I would have done also, but I do have viewers that like to eat meat.
@@ArdentMichelle I know you would, just trying to nudge some people into a certain direction 😉
I was thinking the same thing except I would also add mushrooms too. Michelle always inspires me! 😊
I like blending caulirice and using it as a creamy healthy base for pasta

Dried beans are super cheap. They are easy to cook especially if you have an instapot.
Can you share with me how best to make them without an instapot? I can't seem to get them exactly right.

Beans on toast is a very English meal although I have heard similar in other areas of Europe.

No, my dad served in Korea and ge also like SOS (Depression kids, both of my parents)
I've seen similar recipes, but even if I'm vegetarian, its seems to beany😅. But you made me curious, I will try it!
It's the bean, lol. Cannelini beans don't really have a flavor (unlike black beans or pintos.) So you can make them taste like anything.
