I agree. I only played when I was a kid so I don't actually know many of the micro tricks at all. It's really helpful when Arty explains it. Anyways, hope you have a great day dude!
@TheSuperappelflap mines a 20 dollar insert under the rink, you just hook it to the main line to the toilet. Obviously not heated, localized, but, the water isn't cold even in winter
I really appreciate the player backstory Artosis gives. I only recently started watching these sc1 games so knowing a bit more about the players that would normally take a lot of replays to find out is cool.
It's a weird thing I noticed that Snow does, he doesn't leave games immediately after winning. He stays for a bit and mops up. I think Artosis mentioned it once, saying something like "yeah ok, I stopped doing that a week after the game came out." I kinda hope Snow is sitting there after a victory like a kid like "yeah! and now my super-cool zealots destroy your command center!" Shit would be hilarious. ....Or maybe it's just hard to leave a game while feet-clapping.
I’ve noticed that apart from turrets, the pros don’t build a lot of defensive structures. That, and apart from Archons i am not sure there are a lot of units that can take full advantage of the battery
You used to see more of these back when protoss went corsair/reaver against zerg. It was a great way to fix up corsairs and shuttles that got scourged.
Trivia time! StarCraft originally had a planned "veterancy" system. Units would get stronger or get more abilities as they accumulate kills. Only the "Kills" info is what's left of that system.
snow's early goon micro under appreciated. he probably uses battery more often than any other top protoss I've seen. just really good for cleanly defending those early bunker nexus busts as just extra bulk that terran need to remove before destroying nexus. builds in same time as uninterrupted bunker too.
Shield battery is, indeed, underrated. That sucker is useful literally no matter your build. You can engage so many more times with the same army without worry about senselessly losing units. Seriously. Every protoss should be building shield batteries every game, they're that good.
Got a question for you friends, from the perspective of someone who watches all the time but doesn't actually play. At around 7:45, when RideSky takes that high ground, are his tanks within range to siege the Robo and Observatory? Maybe siege wasn't finished yet, but even then, hold that position with mines and micro until it does. (He sieges at the natural about 50 seconds later). Because once he got pinched between both high grounds he lost a lot of momentum.
the mental side is just multitasking in extreme speeds and just capacity to think and keep in mind a huge number of things, that all happen and go on at the same time
A bit of feedback, I wish you viewed things a bit more zoomed out at times. Like I understand perhaps wanting to mimic what the players see (and at the start where there's downtime that's fine), but I think zooming out just a notch or two would help keep you from panning the camera constantly and help see the whole scene as it unfolds.
@@osirisra1476sure they deal damage but I don’t know that huge is the adjective I would use to describe their damage considering it takes 27(?) marine shots to kill a zealot and they don’t even have stim or range to help
I honestly never understood why Shield Battery is so rarely used. It's literally the Starcraft equivalent of Moonwells, allowing you to basically send any unit back into combat right after using it.
@@SchemingGoldberg But it's only 100 minerals and of course I didn't mean putting it to where the enemy could destroy it, but like right behind the front lines when a big push is about to commence.
the problem is that its cumbersome to use because its a big building with little range and shields usually arent as valuable as hp, and shields regen on their own as well, in most situations the shield battery isnt that valuable if they had a bit more range then im sure people would use them more often
They're not really fun to watch, except maybe PvP ones. Have you ever seen a TvT or ZvZ match? The former is usually a 1 hour slug fest, the latter is over in a Flash.
No. Most underrated buildings are Covert ops for ghosts, queen's nest - queens never used except vs Mech Terran which is also rare to see in multiplayer and no other spells and control tower - cloack almost useless except very specific situations vs terran and wraith energy upgrade is useless
Underrated is not the same as underplayed. Underrated means that it's good but not used enough. If something isn't used because it's bad... then it's not underrated.
Queens are used regularly vs Mech, especially at the lower level of play where mech vs Zerg is much more common. Cloaked Wraiths are great against Carriers that lack proper support. Protoss usually overextends with them, which Terrans can punish hard. Ghosts are rarely used, but some players prefer to have a couple versus Carriers or Arbiters. There's more to Starcraft Brood War than professional play.
"sometimes" i play a little angry
just a little miffed. occasionally.
Also "a little" angry
Haha "Saltosis"
Lol
Before hearing that I hadn't scrolled to the comments yet. As soon as I heard it I knew that would be the top comment. 😂
2:00 a little bit angry he says.

Artosis out there daily giving us the kind of chills you can only get from a bidet in the winter with a broken water heater.

@TheSuperappelflap no... it's just room temp, like I said, "obviously not heated".
I don't think I would've thought of it, but Crazy Protoss is a great name for this new shield battery centric build. Another banger from Artosis

maybe it's the other way around, try watching the next cast right after the cold shower and it should be ok
@rjawiygvozd oh no
It's pretty hot in my room so i am watching ArtosisCasts to get the chills.

Great commentary. Ridesky is very good. I'd like to see more of him.
Pretty cool to see him. Get excited again great cast
And so, Artosis closes out the video with an apt quote by guy in the chat. Bravo!

When will the next Artosisu vs. Snow match happen?
Snow is godlike in engagements
He's great at scraps but loses power in huge engagements; Best is better at those.
I wish shield battery was used more often

So Tempest was just 15 years ahead of the curve?
Can these guys beat the computer?

live life of full life thx to shield battery

6:32 did he really say “huge dps of the marines”? What kind of scale is he working with 😂
At that stage of the game the marines do have a lot of DPS against buildings or anything they can all directly attack.

I honestly never understood why Shield Battery is so rarely used. It's literally the Starcraft equivalent of Moonwells, allowing you to basically send any unit back into combat right after using it.
I think the big problem is the cost and the size of it. If it was a 2x2 building it might get used a bit more.
You have to build Moonwells to build units, their utility might not be worth it otherwise.
