    I bought a super combo raptor 30 years ago. Like 2006. Took 4 years self teaching myself. Only a few crashes. Back in 2015 I bought the DJI Naza H flight controller for my raptor. Takes flying helis to a different level. But after a few flights I put it on display in my man cave. Tonight I literally got her down cleaning all the dust off. Had to order a new rx battery but can’t wait to get her flying. Then I come on UA-cam and see your raptor video!!! Thank you

      Thanks. I learned without gyros so those new controllers actually hinder me. But whatever it takes to fly is good so happy flying to you and no crashing!

      I bought my Hirobo Shuttle, 1983, as I remember. It never had a gyro, but I loved the way it flew. Later I graduated to a used Kalt 50 sized, finally broke down and installed a gyro because I worried about it crashing into our livestock. ;-) I lost battery power on my old JR tx on landing, she took off straight up then nose dived at a 45 degree angle into the ground. She sits in my basement, as I got into electric helicopters, multirotors, Phantom, Mavic etc. I will say the Kalt felt like I was actually flying in the cockpit, something I do miss. Always a pleasure to watch your videos!

      @@johnpaulino1565 Well is is supposed to turn loosely cw, as it's on a one way shaft. To start the engine, it will feel tight, but should turn over the engine. If it wont turn CCW, the engine could be seized, the 1 way bearing could be seized, or the clutch was overheated in a crash and has fused together, as the bell housing for the clutch is plastic. You need to drop the engine out, and do some inspecting. Thanks for the Sub. Good luck.

    • @NightFlyyer
      @NightFlyyer  4 роки тому

      @@johnpaulino1565 It can use any gyro. If it is fluttering, it's set for too much gain. It also must be turned on flat on the ground and set for 15 seconds before flight. I don't like gyros, so use mostly just rate gyros, not heading lock. Good luck and don't give up.

      @mybluebelly Рік тому +1

      @@NightFlyyer I have a carbon main blade upgrade coming in the mail and was wondering about this. If you have an accident and crash your heli, those lead weights can become lethal projectiles but i guess it`s the same with carbon blades then. If it is too lean it will start to lift off the ground and die. I set mine to just that max lean and back it out 1/3 turn. They run hot, but not red hot. Maybe your fan is slipping or damaged or missing. That will cause overheat. I do not know the number of turns that this is set at, and as you know, I am not going in to count, as mine is set. I think the main needle is about 1 1/2 turns, but start with 2 ccw turns out from all the way in. It takes patience. Richen the low speed needle a 1/4 turn and see what that does.
