Oh wow - the Vitalogy book is what Pearl Jam used as their album cover and name in the 90s. I checked the sold prices of the book out on eBay and it can resell for a good amount! Nice score!!!
Kristen, evertime I see your videos, I think of the Spanish word, “acojedora.” There is no direct translation to English because it encompasses several English adjectives, warm, cozy, welcoming and comfortable. Your beautiful family and home are acojedora.
Is Anchor Hocking still made? Over the past 110 years, Anchor Hocking became one of the leading manufacturers of glassware in the world. It all happened -and continues to happen- right where we started. Melted, poured, sculpted, cut, cleaned, and perfected. All of it, at our original Lancaster, Ohio location.
Oh my goodness! The bedtime tradition of carrying the candlesticks upstairs with British accents is AWESOME! I LOVE THAT! Your girls will never forget that❤
Kristen, the easiest way to clean faux florals is either to fill sink with soapy water and swish vigorously and rinse well or in warmer months I take my faux florals out and give them good "hose down" and leave them to dry in the sun..I ahve "saved" many dirty, dingy florals from the landfill
I agree. I buy thrifted faux flowers at fleamarkets or second hand shops. I wash them in a backet of mild soap and water. Rinse. Hang upside down, tied in a bunch on the line outside. I let them dry in the sun. I find new faux flowers quite pricey over here in Germany so if I can find bargains I get them. I have lots of thrifted vases I want to sell and feel that a vase always looks more appealing if one can give people ideas of what something could look like, with flowers already in a vase. I also like good quality dried flowers or grasses, those new in a bunch are also very pricey in Germany. We don't have all the big stores you have in the USA. 😅
an old scooter rides the same as a new one. If she doesnt like the color, spray paint it. If she drops it or throws it down it was 7.99. My kids grew up on Goodwill finds. My youngest are 19 and 21 and they LOVE GW finds. They have gotten their friends loving goodwill.
Hi Kristen. Your smile is so infectious and you bring joy when you speak. Great haul from the thrift shop. Your baby is growing so big God bless you and your family.
Oh Kristen, you continue to just warm my heart. Your bedtime routine!!!! Oh how precious! Just hubby & I now, but I use my phone every night to light the way to our bedroom. Hmmmm maybe I will put a battery operated candle in one of my candle holders & use that instead. So quaint. 😊My favorite item was the pillow. I love those, but just can’t & won’t pay those prices. Also, my goodness that baby girl in your tummy has really grown! Not twins??? 😮😮😮 ok my sweet girl, have an incredibly blessed week. Ohhhh your Grandmothers 100th birthday 🎂 how special is that. I’m now 71, my Paternal Grandmother lived to 96 & her mother to 97, so we shall see. Praying no more bad storms in your area. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Rosie could get some pretty stickers from Michael’s or Hobby Lobby and decorate her scooter to make it more pretty/her style! That’s what my mom always did for thrifted stuff for me growing up. I now put pretty stickers on my laptops and other boring electronics lol.
👵💜Anchor Hocking Company is a company in Ohio. I lived about 20 minutes away from Lancaster, Ohio where their factory was. I was a newly wed living in Logan, Ohio. I was married in 1965. I still have and am using glasses, measuring cups and decrotive peices.
I always take any pillows that I buy in clean shape that I can’t wash, in a tied trash bag for days in the garage. For just in case. Because you don’t know where it’s been. ❤ I love the computer bag. Google lens an item that you’re on the fence with on prices to see if it’s worth the price.
Anchor Hocking is a reliable company making good baking and measuring glass equipment. It will work well for your banana bread. Just remember that glass cooks faster than metal. Watch it carefully because you might need to use it at a lower temp (usually 25 degrees lower).
Anchor Hocking and Pyrex have been around for years and are great for baking. Anything aluminum I no longer use. There is aluminum in sooo many products that it’s mind blowing!!! Check your food products and personal use products too. Good choices in your thrifting!!
I found a clock a couple months ago at the thrift shop, very similar to the one you saw, it chimed on the hour. I bought it and everybody in the family just loves the soft hourly chime!
Actually, when I was younger girls did wear mens boxers. It was sort of a trend in some places back in the 80's and I think into the early 90's. Anchor Hocking is a good brand much like Pyrex. Just make sure it's oven safe and not just part of a clear refrigerator dish that's missing the lid.
Anchor Hocking was a great deal for bread loaf pan. You can also use for meatloaf. It’s a great brand and Made In US. The men’s boxers would be good to sleep in with a tank or t shirt.
I have had Anchor Hocking baking dishes that have lasted years. The one you got is called a loaf pan. I love the lamp you got. I have seen them on primitive shopping sites for several hundred dollars so that is my find I think you scored the best on. Boxers and men's tank tops are a must in summer pregnancy's. I slept in them with my Nov and Dec boys. Stay blessed!
Your thrift stores are so good !!! I find very little where I live !!! The floor lamp is my favorite!!! Yes men’s boxers are so comfy!!! Love your baby bump ❤️
You may already have seen it, your lamp is actually height adjustable. I have one. You pull back on the curved arm piece. It is resting on the base, and the tension holds it in place. You can adjust the height of the candle. I hope this makes sense to you. You found some great pieces! I love the brass candleholders, and the book.
Check the copyright dates on the old books that you buy.. and show us..I now only buy books that are copyrighted in the 1800’s.. they are beautiful, rich, leather binding and the pages have aged so beautifully. Very decorative stacked up with a brass piece sitting on top.
Scooters are fun if all of them have them. Maybe you can find more at garage sales this spring. Eventually, we ended up getting both my kids the $80 scooters from Target as they got older as they are bigger and can hold 220 lbs
You have such great thrift stores! I always love a great book find and your Vitality book is a wonderful find for 33 cents; my favorite recent find is an 1853 edition of The Pilgrims Progress, that I paid pennies for!
We inherited my husband's mother's Johnson Brothers Friendly Village china set service for 16 with all of the serving pieces. It is so charming.❤ we use it every Thanksgiving. 🦃
My daufhter and i went thrifting today as well..found a few things...you always score great stuff! Rosie will be a thrifter just like her mama! Just like mine is❤
Everything you bought is lovely imo. The pillow, the glass baking dish for banana bread, your shorts, Rosies clothes. It is a shame that both sets of grandparents didn't collaborate to get Rosie a new scooter for her birthday. I find it so weird when people ask what what someone really would like for their birthday and not give them what they really want. Then it is better not to ask and just give whatever they were going to give. If they can't afford to buy a new scooter, then put some money in an envelope with a card to gift towards a new scooter. Rosie is such a lovely young girl. You have a beautiful peaceful home. 💕🤗
Hi Kristen. I loved shopping with you and Rosie . I’m glad she got her scooter even if it’s not brand new. Your kids are so sweet. I have that wrought iron lamp. If you squeeze the handle behind it, you can adjust it to different heights. I’m not sure if you knew that. Thanks for sharing your trip and hall with us.
Dear Kristen, I came across a wrought iron lamp very similar to yours about 10 years ago, at an estate sale in rural Ohio. I am positive yours and mine are both antiqes. I was super jazzed when I asked for the price and they said 10$. The cord was cloth wrapped in need of rewiring. Primitive decor is my absolute favorite, your chair compliments the lamp. Hugs💞
Hello Kristen, thank you for this thrift haul video, very nice stuff, I like, when you don't buy things you don't need. Even if you like it very much. I think, we don't have to buy everything we like, it is just fine to adore it and not own it. Just to observe and enjoy and than move to our home and use and enjoy our stuff :) God Bless you and your family and a little one in the belly.
I have used thick books like your Vitalogy find as a computer screen riser when working on my computer, really helps with neck strain to rise it up to eye level, just an idea.
Great finds! The leather computer bag that the handle broke take it to a shoe fix it shop and get an estimate of what they would charge to fix the broken strap holder. Loved the brass holders.
What a fun haul. Some of those prices are amazing, and sadly, prices went up so much. You might have to get used to paying a little more, but it’s actually not paying a lot.🎉 anchor hoching is a very good glassware brand started over 100 years ago and quite collectible some of the older pieces
You got a great deal on the iron antique lamp! I own one that size I picked up at a yard sale and love it. I have a lampshade on it and I believe they were used while people played “card” games in the day. I love to thrift too and do it for my enjoyment and for my own use. My husband says I need a different hobby because I have found so many items. I love it when I find nice crystal bowls and such. I love your brass candlesticks from your thrifting today! Your family is so sweet! Best wishes on the birth of your baby, your girls will enjoy her at their ages!
Hi Kristen, love all of your finds! Anchor Hocking is a good brand. I have many baking items from them. You are such a wise thrifter! I’ve always heard, “If you don’t have a need for it, then it’s not a bargain.” Your girls are so sweet! By the way, your lipstick color was made just for you! Enjoyed the video!
Heads up, scooters are great, but keep buying used ones. The brand new ones are super super slick. For a very experienced rider, first time out, broke her wrist while riding on the sidewalk and this was the height of covid too. So, yes used are best!
Love the men boxers shorts, it makes sense to me and so sweet to share a day with Rosie. I remember when I wood take my 3 children one at a time to town to spend quality time with them made them feel very special.
Your joy when you score a deal when you find the perfect piece for your home is so sweet. Is it me or does it feel like resale shops have gone up in price!? The pillow and book for sure an exception. I love old books, I’m glad you didn’t pass that up! Cute clothes, too!
Anchor Hocking is great, I have a few pieces. I bought a pack of men's boxers one Summer when I had horrible shingles around me left hip and buttocks! It was awful but the boxers were awesome. They were so comfy, I kept them and wear them to bed sometimes in Summer with a nice comfy tank. It works for me. I love the pillow and that lamp is awesome. Nice haul. Glad you enjoy your mommy/daughter day with your beautiful little girl!! Thank you for sharing! ❤
A loaf pan. re: banana bread. The brass candlestick holder is awesome! That hand mirror is awesome! I had a silver one that belonged to my grandma... I wish I still had it. Great computer satchel.. that book is too cool!! Same!! What is up w thrift store prices??? They are a thrift store!!! 🙄.. wow. Such a unique candle/ lamp.. I've never seen anything like it.
I need to go to a Goodwill near me. I know we have at least three. And see which one is better. I went to the consignment store near me today. I only bought two small things and some pure honey. That’s it. But I have a small house so I have to be careful what I buy. They had a neat wicker pet carrier. But it was $90 so it’s still there. I didn’t need it. But it was cute and I think a few of my dogs would fit in it. Or if we needed to try to get a cat into the vet. But that’s too much for me to spend. I like the things you bought. Maybe one day this week my husband will take me to a Goodwill.
Thank you, thank you for this sweet thrift haul! I always enjoy your hauls. Honestly, I was imaging myself sitting at your dining table, while you showed what your scored. LOL! I LOVE your home. Oh and I always shop the men's shorts, for mys3elf. I like that they are longer and usually cost less. Hope the girls are feeling better.
@Kristen Hoffman, you really scored with that book! I don't know what year yours was published, but they go anywhere from $90 on up, and one from 1903 is listed on eBay for $490! The computer bag was indeed a score! You're lucky, at our Goodwill, everything household realted starts at $4.79! That egg timer would be $4.79. Thanks to the California governor and our extremely high cost of living! Our Goodwill charges 8.50% sales tax! You're looking absolutely gorgeous! I don't comment too much because I'm wordy, but I watch every video, and you never disappoint in your content! Much love from podunk, California! 😉❣️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I agree the scooter was overpriced. Especially when Goodwill got it for free. I love your tradition of going up the stairs with the candlesticks. You have great style and so glad you’re sharing your tips with us.
Love all your finds! I use glass pans too. You'll love them and easy to clean. Garage sales are starting and I can't wait to find treasures. Have fun decorating!!
The Friendly Village is a set I’ve been searching for but never purchased when I see them at my local thrift stores. They are priced at $5-$10 a piece! Wish I could snag that set at your store.
You crack me up. That is a big honkin book for only 33 cents! What a precious little mirror and I agree with you on the thrift store prices being a little high sometimes. 🤷♀
Great finds!!! I have both Anchor Hocking and Pyrex, and one is no better than the other. I love them both. I think the candle stick is indeed brass, it just has a lacquer finish to keep it from tarnishing.
HAPPY SUNDAY IN MAY Kristen, family, and fur baby sweetheart. Kristen, I LOVE WHEN YOU THRIFT; SCORE! Thrifting is my JAM. I love that lamp. Praying the girls feel better soon. One day I hope you film the nighttime routine with you guys going up the stairs with the candles and your "British accent". STTB
I Hear you with not wanting to spend a lot of money at the thrift store. I found a antique medicine cabinet. It has to be from the late 1800- early 1900s. It was absolutely stunning. They wanted $35 which was so reasonable I just didn’t really wanna spend it . Anyway I decided I couldn’t live without it. I would have totally regretted not getting it.
Oh wow - the Vitalogy book is what Pearl Jam used as their album cover and name in the 90s. I checked the sold prices of the book out on eBay and it can resell for a good amount! Nice score!!!
I thought that sounded familiar!
Anchor hocking is a good brand, they are good quality and reasonably priced, that was a good find, of course you couldn't leave it there 😅
Came to say the exact same thing. Comparable to Pyrex but for a lower price.
Anchor Hocking might be *better* than Pyrex.
And also made in the USA
@@laurielansue4131I agree it is great quality!
I still use Anchor Hocking baking pans I got 40 years ago when I got married!
Kristen, evertime I see your videos, I think of the Spanish word, “acojedora.” There is no direct translation to English because it encompasses several English adjectives, warm, cozy, welcoming and comfortable. Your beautiful family and home are acojedora.
It's similar to the Swedish "hygge".
Lovely thought to share, and so true.
Cozy person, direct translation
Related to a House IS welcoming

Rosie is such a sweet addition to your already amazing channel. I hope she wants to continue to help her mama thrift.
That canvas bag is a steal for $8!! I would pay a lot for it. It's a classic, well made bag that should last!
As a natural redhead, I just love Rosie’s red hair!❤
Oh my goodness! The bedtime tradition of carrying the candlesticks upstairs with British accents is AWESOME! I LOVE THAT! Your girls will never forget that❤
I love it too! It reminds me of the Little Woman movie with Susan Surandan(sp). ❤️
We always called the Loaf Pans for whatever u want to bake in it! Good for Meat Loaf also!! ❤❤❤❤❤+👶🏻🐶

Anchor Hocking is a heritage company that has made glass cookware for over 100 years...very appropriate for oven use and for refrigerator storage.

Anchors is a very old glass company. They are still popular with glass items like cake stands, jars, etc still sold at Target, etc.
I used to wear men's boxers all the time in my 20s. They're so comfortable. It's really nice for summer with a tank top or a basic t shirt .
Hi Kristen. Your smile is so infectious and you bring joy when you speak. Great haul from the thrift shop. Your baby is growing so big
God bless you and your family.
That Bedtime Tradition is so cute 😍
Rosie is our future blogger. I enjoy that girl so much.
Rosie's clothes are my favourite. Your daughter has fabulous taste. 😊

The chips coffee mug would be adorable with a plant in it.
THRIFTING…is my FAVORITE Video!!!
Thank you for sharing!!!🤍🤍🤍🤍
The white room is so pretty and bright!
Make sure it says oven safe on the bottom,
because they do make glass storage that isn't tempered.
Rosie could get some pretty stickers from Michael’s or Hobby Lobby and decorate her scooter to make it more pretty/her style! That’s what my mom always did for thrifted stuff for me growing up. I now put pretty stickers on my laptops and other boring electronics lol.
Great idea!

Anchor Hocking is right up there with Pyrex, you won't be disappointed..good find !!

Anchor hawking is a really good friend. Remember that name so when you’re out Thrifting again.
So many amazing finds with such a heart for good stewardship!!❤
I love Anchor Hocking pieces! I’m really surprised you’ve never run into any while thrifting. I see them often - great quality!
Fun finds, I liked the book best, it's from the 19th century!!
Absolutely Love your videos !!! ❤ …great pillow. But, the canvas bag will last you for years, so a great find for YOU, Kristen !!

I love the standing candle lamp!
Love how you are so down to earth 😊
Mine was the computer bag and the boxers. Love the blue color. 🩵
Anchor hocking is a vintage glass company i believe! They are great quality! I have beautiful vintage glasses of theirs. Great haul, Kristen!
Scooters are fun if all of them have them. Maybe you can find more at garage sales this spring. Eventually, we ended up getting both my kids the $80 scooters from Target as they got older as they are bigger and can hold 220 lbs

The boxers for the win!!!!! You take me back to my college days--we all wore boxers for shorts. So comfy!!!!!
When ever I find an Ironstone piece that’s chipped up such as the cup you found I always buy them and put a succulent inside of them.
Great haul! Love seeing your mindful shopping. I’ve been getting more selective too after 7 years in my house
Me too!!
I bought over the weekend Currier and Ives plates; Pfaltzgraff Folk Art cookie jar.
Love the canvas and leather bag! That was a great score for 8 bucks.

Love all your finds! I use glass pans too. You'll love them and easy to clean. Garage sales are starting and I can't wait to find treasures. Have fun decorating!!
Oh I can’t click fast enough when I see you pop up. Love your videos!
Hi Kristen, My favorite purchase you made is the Vitalogy Book for .33. It has a great appearance! Love your comments on the boxers! Lol
Anchor Hocking is a very good brand.Great finds at the thrift store
LOVE YOUR CANDLE TRADITION..
MY FAVORITE IS THE
LAMP💡
I love thrifting too!!🥰
The Friendly Village is a set I’ve been searching for but never purchased when I see them at my local thrift stores. They are priced at $5-$10 a piece! Wish I could snag that set at your store.
Oh wow!
Anchor Hocking is a good brand!
Love Rosie's clothes.
Yes, my favorite is the beautiful pillow. Rosie is just gorgeous! Love your thrifting videos!
Your thrift store prices are so good! Nothing for less than a dollar around here and that hand mirror would be $15 in our area!
What great things you have at the thrift store!
Anchor Hocking is as good as Pyrex and close in age. Always take a magnet and a tape measure with you. Magnets won’t stick to solid brass.
I found Williamsburg porcelain flower pot yesterday at goodwill so exciting, love your videos
