I think that there’s a chance your crops won’t grow due to random tick speed. It’s possible a map maker did “set random tick speed 0” or something to make things like vines and stuff to not spread to unwanted places, or leaves to decay. This however also affects plant growth
Technically you can. Not the plant area itself, but there are heavily monitored tours for several of the surrounding towns, with Pripyat being the most famous

I did a test on the Parasite map on both survival and hardcore modes and it took the tilled soil significantly more time to change color to denote properly irrigated in comparison to the standard game. Edit: Nvm, I just got to a part where he got to the bottom of the world on the surface. That's just weird, maybe there's designated mining spots or something?
it's definitely not because of y-level, my guess is it's because of tick speed because he always plays on custom-made maps so the mapmakers probably set tickspeed to 0 while making them then don't bother setting it back to normal. This also explains the crop-land not being irrigated i believe
Sean, first of all: mega epic video as always. Second of all: For the crops, the problem could be /gamerule random tick speed, which could be set to 0. I'm guessing the guy who made the map had the tick rate at 0 for building purposes. I was thinking about it every time he complained about nothing growing.
Except that really doesn't explain it. There's a thing called "random tick speed", and it determines per game tick (20 ticks per second) how many blocks in a chunk section gets randomly ticked/updated. The default is 3, meaning per game tick, 3 blocks per chunk section (16x16x16 area) are updated. Without specific mods you can not set the actual game tick speed, you say to set it to 20 for default, but you're talking about game ticks, which are a consistent 20 (unless your game is lagging and can't handle that speed). Unless you use carpet mod or something similar you can not set the game tick rate. The random tick rate is the one that's configurable and it's default is 3 not 20 because it's a different system. We can tell that random tick speed is not 0 because other phenomenon are happening that also occur with random ticks. And 5 in-game days should have caused at least a few growth stage for at least a few plant even if random tick speed was set to 1. The fact the crops aren't really growing fast but other things happen like leaves decaying and fires going out, etc, says that tick speed shouldn't be 0, but the crops still aren't growing at a usual rate, so I wouldn't be surprised if he has a mod he puts in a lot of his modpacks that he doesn't realize is messing with crop growth. I know he said there wasn't any, but it might be an unintended consequence of a mod he doesn't realize is doing so.
I love how the first mob he captures is the fungus amungus. (Actually called Mungus). Also, if the Mungus is covered in Warped Fungus and is attacked by a Crimson Mosquito, it makes a mini boss. Too bad Grob has red mushrooms. While part of me wants Sean to learn about Alexs Mobs, it's way more fun to see him get stunlocked and confused about the random, non-realistic mobs in it. :D

This man is the most scared player I've ever seen, the amount of times I've seen him freak out at almost full health with little to no risk of dying are endless
interestingly, it wasn't the zombie titans that so terrified me... it was the grotesque, brain-hungry spigslet that infested and subjugated them. the mutations and deformation of these vile creatures was almost too much to bear Awn7mFktpB4
@@Ranger-over that’s what really rubs me the wrong way about these mutation mods. To think that something that we would normally perceive as mundane and docile would become a disturbing spindly monster, still bearing the same face…gives me the chills man.
Sean choosing to leave the game unpaused while he writes his notes every single time and almost ends up dying every single time is such a Sean thing to do-and then also not digging upwards after capturing the shulker boss and blocking himself in.
Few thoughts: 1) The second half of this video was made infinitely better by Grob. I love that you had a little buddy to go back to and I hope he survived. 2) I think "car" is a good name for that thing because it feels like you just misspelled "cat", which would have been fitting considering the sequence to get it in another pen is exactly how I feel whenever I need to get my cats in a carrier. 3) What's with the bulls? 0:29 That’s sarcophagus that you pointed out is actually the New Safe Confinement (designed to last 100 years) that was built over the original sarcophagus. They both cover reactor 4 and the Sarcophagus is planed to. E removed
It’s getting removed as we speak because it was put together hastily and there is a fear of collapse which would cause a lot of dust to be thrown up and it would contaminate a lot of the inside of NSC
Considering it was put up quickly, it has lasted nearly 40 years. Well maintained concrete buildings can last up to 100 so hopefully the next one will be more substantial
@@Kungle They built it within a year to cover it as fast as they could and due to the radiation, the sarcophagus had some setbacks during construction. I bet that it will be dismantled and another containment structure will be built under the New Safe Confinement when it reaches is expiration date.

I usually have a hard time paying attention to yet vids longer than twenty minutes. But this channel is the only one I can watch for almost three hours without getting distracted lmao. Hey Sean, you probably wont read this, but I thought I'd mention that when you have sand to clear out, instead of using your shovel, you can break the bottom one and quickly place a torch there so that all the above sand/gravel blocks will fall onto it and break automatically. After a little practice it becomes a really fast method of clearing. Hope that helps you out! Keep up all the great content my mans!
This one was WAY TOO fun! It felt like there was a lot more to see and do. I say 200 Days or something, cause this one was so enjoyable and so well done. You sleeping at your computer just shows how much work you put into the video.
Hey Sean! Quickt tip: if you want a lot of flowers a once, you can use bonemeal on a flower to spread the flower. It’s much more efficient than using bonemeal in random places!

To be fair doesn’t seem Sean is that familiar with old minecraft mods n stuff like that, he’s always been show to be still a bit new to this game and it’s history. And to be honest it would be a bit odd if a random egg started riding your head
@@apolloeggo3677 Indeed! i wasn't expecting him to recognize it, i was hoping he would take the egg into a containment chamber or just randomly discovering that hahah

He's clearly not familiar with that mod, otherwise he wouldn't have gone near them, but the confidence was still crazy.
I just know I’m gonna love this video, I’ve always been interested in Chernobyl and it’s radioactive areas. The fact that you are playing in a map based on it makes me happy and excited
@@Mehmet_Kaplan Actually since the reactor exploded it sent fallout into the air which contaminated the city. The fallout probably had some isotopes like Cs-137, Pu-239, U-235, U-238 and probably many more. The half-life of these isotopes is incredibly long and Pripyat will continue to be radioactive to the contamination for a really long time. It's not as dangerous today since many of the shorter half-life isotopes have decayed away but is still fairly contaminated and radioactive today.
After the Ukraine War ends, I'm going to book a tour there, but you need to sign a waiver saying you may get radiation sickness and you can't sue them i just really want to go see Chernobyl and Pripyat. it's a whole day seeing both cities and major landmarks around it.
@@AverageNerdGamer it’s does take a long time to explore the areas, but that’s what makes it so exciting. When I first learned about Pripyat in general I thought it was a cool place because if you think about it, Chernobyl is a example of what poor communication and embarrassment is. The people who knew about the reactor exploding knew they could have saved people and the area from being so radiated to the point of difficulties living there. If they weren’t so embarrassed about their mistake Chernobyl could still be a great living place and could be around for so much longer, it had so much potential. I’ve been infatuated with the place since maybe around 2 years ago I think, and the more I learn about it the more interesting it becomes for the eyes view.
Sean you inspired me to start watching river monsters, and that inspired me to start fishing, now 2 years later I caught a fish larger than me while fishing in the ocean with my family. Thank you for the wonderful experience (for those wondering it was a grouper which weighed 368 pounds))
The acting, production value, and usage of music in this one is actually pretty good. It seemed like you even had a friend off-screen spawning some enemies in to spice it up too, if not, those are some great mod settings.
Iicr, he introduced a randomized mob horde spawner mod/plugin in his previous 100 days challenge and seems to be using it for this one as well. It's pretty neat stuff
I mean, let's be real. If he didn't realize the effects before doing that, something which is probably advertised/well known already, then chances are he probably won't notice now unless it's mega-spammed (which would be obnoxious)
@@Altair1243WARSean isn’t… the most well versed with Minecraft mechanics. I would not be surprised if he doesn’t even know what a tick is. Nonetheless, I hope he fixes it since it frustrated him pretty bad this video. Didn’t take away from anything though
I love how in so many recent videos, the thing that bothers you the most isn't the difficulty of survival or not knowing how certain mods work, but instead, how confusing you find your notes/scripts
The "man", "mans", "men" count came to an even 110 this time These mod packs look so fun and chaotic to play and you make them so enjoyable to watch! Keep it up!
It's notable that a real radiation suit does not make you immune to radiation. It makes you resistant to more radiation than you normally can tolerate. So it slows down the effects, it does not full block them. Also, if radiation levels are high enough, no suit is really going to help much. Before you noted about setting the command blocks to directly target you, I though everything was working as intended as it seemed like you could get closer to the house while I was watching.
33:21 I think that this is because of that dripstone you placed while going up with water. When you place a block that can be waterlogged into a full block of flowing water it makes that block waterlogged, which would cause the waterlogged dripstone to cancel fall damage instead of boosting it.
Even if it was waterlogged I think dripstone extends outside of the water, I'm not entirely sure though this is just from memory but I think I would have still done the damage. So I think the frogs are real tanky. Also, I believe that flowing water cannot waterlog blocks, only source blocks. Might be wrong on that tho, I haven't played Minecraft in a while.
i've played tons of games set in chernobyl, ive visited it, and i constantly study and research it. this is 100% accurate /s (love all the stalker game stuff, like the zombified stalkers, anomalies, etc. I have never been more happy and grateful to see my favourite game have stuff in one of your videos)

I love seeing these challenges and reading the title "I spent 100 days". It implies a death inbetween, but you don't know when. Keeps you on edge the whole time
He used to call them Survived 100 Days, then tried to sneakily rename them to Spent instead. A lot of his older challenges, he would die and just cheat his way back into the challenge, defeating the whole purpose. With them being called Spent, he doesn't have to worry about that.
@@Catraaa It's simple word play, "spent" means he was there for 100 days with or without casualties "Survived" means exactly that BUT without casualties.
At 38:00 you weren't taking radiation damage, that was just the Geiger counter telling you the area was irradiated, (Unless you didn't show us it actually damage you) the suit was working along with the mod
17:44 This and the spider pig part just killed me because why on earth does this man just get absolutely assaulted by hordes of the most goodiest creatures at night
The reason the radiation wasn't working I think is because the command blocks were sending the effect directly to your character, the radiation suit was probably supposed to stop whatever was in the world from giving you the effect, but since the command blocks provide an instant effect, the suit wouldn't work
Try turning the tick up higher in your game for you crops to grow faster. Seems like the crops may have a low tick that is keeping them from growing! :)

Random tick rate is what got changed. 20 ticks for gameplay, yes, but for random tick rate you want 3. He changed the random tick rate.
I love how Sean is getting damaged by cows more than the mobs/anomalies in this video.

I just know I’m gonna love this video, I’ve always been interested in Chernobyl and it’s radioactive areas. The fact that you are playing in a map based on it makes me happy and excited
Honestly same, games like stalker, metro, and chernobylite are my favorites of all time.
Fact: chernobyl city is not radiactive now. Just this reactor thing is radioactive and some stuffs and walls have radioactivity little bit

These mod packs look so fun and chaotic to play and you make them so enjoyable to watch!
Okay ngl, got kinda mad when he kept approaching those frogs. Like Sean, you know what was going to happens, why didnt u just stay inside my guy 😭
1:40:30 I love how he just completely freaks out about a base game mob. like- dude, that's just a re-textured Zoglin (or Zombified Hoglin) lol

@@takebacktheholyland9306 yea and the parasite outbreak was titled i spent 100 days and he didnt die once
He used to call them Survived 100 Days, then tried to sneakily rename them to Spent instead. A lot of his older challenges, he would die and just cheat his way back into the challenge, defeating the whole purpose. With them being called Spent, he doesn't have to worry about that.
...how does that imply that?

fr i was thinking the same
the spider pig incident:
Check your tick speed in the world settings, it controls the growth speed of crops (seeds, saplings, cactus, etc.)
This man always delivers with great content , gotta admire a man like that
The reason the radiation wasn't working I think is because the command blocks were sending the effect directly to your character, the radiation suit was probably supposed to stop whatever was in the world from giving you the effect, but since the command blocks provide an instant effect, the suit wouldn't work
youre one of the few mc creators who pit time and effort into their videos, thank you for that
Try turning the tick up higher in your game for you crops to grow faster. Seems like the crops may have a low tick that is keeping them from growing! :)
