+nahuel roa Apparently this whole album was poorly mastered due to something known as "The loudness wars" Alot of the dynamics were compressed and flattened, and although it's still a great album, it lost its touch because of this. There is a version of Californication (The album) floating around the internet that is unmastered and receives alot of praise. Maybe you'll feel a bit more passion in those versions. Though, the live version is still great.
Ten thousands of people enjoying a few songs together, enriching their joy in life and creating big memories. Let's pray that we can live that life again some day.
You know what I like about this video? There is literally no one holding up a fucking cell phone in the crowd because it was 2003 and going to a concert just meant enjoying good music like this.
Vincent Wang Yeah! I want to know who the f**k started the cellphone trend during concerts. It's kind of annoying and stupid. They record the concert fully or as much as they can tiring their arms and watching the show on their phone with shitty resolution rather than watching live which is the best resolution anyone would get as if they are going to watch that fully again on their phones. Taking photos and maybe short videos is not a bad idea at all but that is such a waste of their effort, time and money.smh
One of the best songs to ever been written and recorded. The reference to Cobain gets me emotional every damn time. What a great band, song, crowd and performance! 🙌🏽
love that crowds reaction when the intro stops and they realise a song is imminent and then californication and they go mental love RHCP :) John Frusciante legend and flea is mad (awesome)
The Peppers are now one of my fav bands. Always enjoyed them. Now that I have been lucky enough to stumble upon them live from Slane Castle, they are top 10 easy.
The best thing about this is that John is clean on his guitar. No effects no nothing, so everything can be heard, which means no room for mistakes. In front of 100,000 people that’s nerve racking 😬
...was just thinking the same thing!! you can watch any live RHCP performance and he is always smiling away!! that is how you measure soul in a band, are they happy and proud of the music they play? in the peppers situation... absolutely
Because of all the comments about Josh. I really don't think anyone is against Josh. He is a fantastic musician. But this band together with John is just magical.
Yeah, we all agree on the other 3 on this and at this concert and whatever. John will always be special to me. BUT: I do tend to be quite critical on Anthony's live-performances and I have seen the Chili Peppers now and then live. He NAILED it on this one 100%. Give credit, when it's due. Brilliant.
One of the great periods in my life. Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters and Ocean Color Scene were on the bill that day as well if I remember correctly and each one brilliant in their own right (although some of them could have been the year before or after, it was 15 + years a go and those gigs in the early 2000's at Slane all run into each other in my mind) Might have been the year before or after, as from 02-04 those gigs were all great, but I remember getting into the castle, OCS were just getting into their set, started playing the day we caught the train and the crowd were belting it out (when you find that things are getting wild now don't you need days like these! Never a more apt lyric) and the whole day was just amazing from that moment on. Between the years 02-04 all of those gigs, there was no aggro, no posers, just 80,000 music lovers on the same buzz, all being sound to each other and just loving life. Great memories.
I told my friends that Jesus is my inspiration to play guitar and that his influence was Hendrix, once they were bewildered, I showed them this video of him. Now my friend plays bass because of Wayne Rooney.
0:46 John closes eyes. Flea looks at John. I feel like Flea is thinking when he is looking at John: '' I love this moment. Let it never stop. I love you (John) so much. Don't ever leave me.'' Seriously, it really felt like that.
Never felt this passion about this song. This is the best concert and their best version of Californication.
+nahuel roa Buena amigo, los red hot todabia la rockean y arriba la hermandad de las sombras.
AnaLetty Jajajaja, por supuesto!

Wayne Roonie + Jesus Christ = Best intro jam ever

I don't remember wayne roonie being this mad
You know what I like about this video? There is literally no one holding up a fucking cell phone in the crowd because it was 2003 and going to a concert just meant enjoying good music like this.
so so damn true !!!!
it's a pity that we don't have "music like this" anymore
yeah but in 2003 there was good music like this
Using a cellphone at a gig is only acceptable if you have the light on because you don't have a lighter.
Vincent Wang Yeah! I want to know who the f**k started the cellphone trend during concerts. It's kind of annoying and stupid. The best intro for 'califonication' - Incredible. You can get this fall in love.
God descended on earth from 0:00 to 1:50
You deserve more upvotes.
Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good
With Jesus stood next to him. Amirite?! :D
David Mena

Everyone talkin about Flea a Frusciante, but no one is talkin about how good Kiedis sang, it is very rare to see XDDD
They're all awesome
They all preformed amazingly :)
@@themagicalfox6 yeah that is what i initally wanted to comment. this is an outstanding performance of the whole band.
John and Flea during the Jam are like ''Are you feeling it now,Mr Krabs?''
Chad is constantly smiling, so much good vibes

That intro jam
One of the best songs to ever been written and recorded. The reference to Cobain gets me emotional every damn time. What a great band, song, crowd and performance! 🙌🏽
I can't hold this much emotions at once.
Goosebumps and tears throughout the whole song.
John Frusciante is GOD.
The word "perfection" comes to mind.

The first song of RHCP I head back on MTV and instantly fell in love with the song and the band.
love that crowds reaction when the intro stops and they realise a song is imminent and then californication and they go mental love RHCP :) John Frusciante legend and flea is mad (awesome)
Gives me chills. God sings through John Frusciante's fingers.
