the worst road, i was ever on was in Bromo, going up to see the sunrise, and when we got our 4x4 to the lookout platform, in rolled a couple highway coaches
I drove many times through those roads in Yungas and in the Camacho Province (La Paz, Bolivia) driving my car and later, ambulances. It was fun, but I never realized back then that they were considered the most creepy roads ever. Anyway, only those who live there should travel through them due to the confidence habit produces. Any foreigner should abstain. But it's thrilling worth to see them personally!
We have some pretty wacky logging roads in Northern Ontario, but they usually have guard rails. Th one laners, have a system, so the drivers let each other know what "mile" they're at. So one can pull over to wait for the other.
Not sure if some of these are on the way to Mt. Tirich Mir in N. Pak but I've been up there and let me tell you, they are insane. We finally had to stop at a rock slide and trek over the sliding rock to tuk-tuks on the very far side to continue. When semis come down they other way you must move within inches of a thousand foot drop...
I've driven on roads like those in Peru, crossing the Andes en route to the jungle. The roads are way up in the mountain, a sure death if you fall off the road. The roads are two-way, but wide enough only for one vehicle. Every so often the roads widens a bit to allow so one can park there and allow the other one to pass. The curves are all blind and scary as hell. Often you find yourself face-to-face with a truck or bus. Then you have to reverse (no u-turn possible) to the last wide spot.
Especially the path with the two boards beside each other and the chain hanging over looks scary. I was thinking about what would happen if a snake suddenly are crawling on the chain or a funnel web spider.
Just FYI, for the chain along the rocky side part, it is on Mount Hua of China. It is meant to be there as a tourist attraction to show how steep and impossible to climb the peak. There are always tourist attempt to climb that part and there are ppl who dies there every year before the safety gears were installed there. I personally been to there but i had no guts to attempt that path, regardless I would have a safety rope around me.
You should try to make the song loop better, and also make sure that your video about dangerous "roads" doesn't have non-roads in it. As for the roads, yeah, I really don't think I'd drive on most of those.
yeah, that's how they do two-way traffic on those roads, i saw it on nat geo or discovery once. it's insane, the ppl that drive these roads usually do it daily, i can't even think about driving somewhere like that
I rode with an Indian driver in a little yellow and black Padmini taxi from Delhi all the way up to Manali....there were places in that road where the pucker factor was off the chart. it somewhat resembled this but it was devoid of vegetation...no guard rail most of the way. A real thrill was meeting one of those red, London type double decker busses. This was 30 years ago.
@BeemersBenzNBentleys I'm not sure about this remix, but the original is called "Cleaning apartment" by Clint Mansell from "Requiem for a dream." Great song! Try also "Requiem for a tower" by Escala, a slight difference.
Most of these are pictures of that road from Bolivia, it's the world's most dangerous road with numerous accidents happening all the time, I forgot it exact name, but it's stunning...
The mountain road with the vertical drop is in Bolivia. The road burrowed into the cliff is in China. The scary walk-boards traversing across the rock-face are also in china. The brief scene of vehicles bogged down in mud is in Siberia. (I can't think which of these shots are of the Karakoram Highway as claimed by someone below).
at 0:07 that is actually in the Guinness book of records (2013) as being the most deadly road in the world. There is no rail and a 15,420 foot drop and kills 300 people a year!
Most of the images show the "Death Road" from La Paz to Coroico which is in Bolivia In 1997 the Death Road was changed for a new one which has no problems at all. I was there and is one of the best places where I've been.
awesome song beautiful roads.
I thought Atlanta Georgia in the winter would be on the video.
Love the Music, as much as the Pics.

Interesting concept, but I would like to know the names of all these places shown here.
It would have been nice to list where the roads are.

I think it is Kronos Quartet, the theme from "Requiem For A Dream".

Like one of my bad dreams where the road ahead keeps narrowing and its steep

1:26 is the most scariest road i've ever seen :(
I love this song, its like taking the road of desperation in the Hummer of Snoop Dogg.
@taerinx
At 0.44 it is a "road" to temples and to the top of mount "hua shan" in China.
