At least we're getting that Rayman DLC in the new Mario and Rabbits game. Who knows? Maybe if the DLC will do well enough we'll get a new game or a rerelease.

I think what I like the most about Rayman's animations here is that it really feels like his parts are moving independently from one another. Just the way he moves around, it's like he's putting his mind into making his feet move along with his body... it's hard for me to describe it, but I love it so much!
That's probably aided by the fact that his parts are animated completely independently from one another, as opposed to using a unified humanoid skeleton with invisible limb bones. I visualise his parts being held together by some sort of elastic/spring force, which allows for a lot of satisfying interactions. And thanks! 😋

Needs some graphical tweaks, but already looks very sweet, I like how consistent and very bright-mooded this art direction is, same goes for the animations - I'm genuinely impressed.

Yeah- they were messed up before because I was hoping to create a system where the pupil objects would slide along the UV of the eye mesh, which is a feature 3ds Max has, but it seems either very confusing or impossible to track this properly with Unity's skinned meshes, so I'm probably going back to my older method of just using bones (like in the saccades video). As always the music is stellar, I especially love the first track. Aaaaah I love this game so much, tysm I've got a question, what happened to the hair physics shown in the first part of the trailer? Imo it looked very good I think it'd be a shame to not keep it.
They were a little toooo ridiculous honestly (I only managed to get a recording for the Alive trailer where you don't notice just how ridiculous they are lol), but that isn't directly my fault, it's a limitation with PhysX, or the way Unity implements PhysX, where physics joints cannot be stiff past a certain point, and in Rayman's hair's case they weren't able to be quite stiff enough. Using Havok would fix this, but I haven't learned how to get it working yet.
1:37 For the ledge grab, do you have to wait for startup frames/animation to finish or can jump right after he grabs? Also, the graphics and animations look superb so far
You can jump right away! It would probably feel bad otherwise. I just waited a second on them to make it look like he was using the inertia of himself swinging back during the animation to boost himself
i enjoy just about every second of these, god I wish Rayman games were still a thing.

I love the animations but im not a fan of the jumping , the way he spread his arms and legs out looks unnatural , keep up the good work tho
