I think a big part of the problem for the Beast is that David is the antithesis of it's belief system. The Beast believes only 'the broken' are pure and deserving of life and that it must be the strongest; so as to protect Kevin from all possible threats. These beliefs are key to both the Beast and the rest of Team Horde. @@rudyNok David would have won without a problem as he is not only stronger but can take much more punishment. The only time Beast had any bit of an upper hand is when he had him from behind and squeezing with all his might and that did nothing.
He didn't overcome it. Two kids fished him out of the pool in the first movie. He and them would have died if not for that. In this movie, they mentioned an incident where he got weakened by an open fire hydrant and in the hospital he was staying at, his room was rigged with high pressure sprinklers that went off when he saw Kevin in the room across from his. Beacause he was gonna fight him then and there. Also in vase you didn't notice, unlike his fight with the orange man, David had no time to recover from the Beast nearly drowning him. That punch through the wall was the last of his strength and had those clover guys not come in time to grab and drown him, he would have had enough time to recover and fight them all off. They pretty much did to him what Lex Luthor should have done, when he first exposed Superman to Kryptonite. Finished him while he was vulnerable. Water was always his weakness. His bones are too dense to float and his phobia is so strong that it physically hurts him. No different than The Horde's powers limited to their beliefs.
Remember, as well, David isn't using his full potential here as Mr. Glass tells him later in the film. He might even be more powerful than the beast. 🤦♂️💪
Honestly when Dr. Staple was trying to convince the 3 characters that they were normal, Patricia should have mentioned that the Beast lifted a whole ass table with minimal effort, threw it several feet, then caught it easily only sliding back a foot or two. That would've shut Staple up.
@@DiegoM265 I know, but it would be hard to trick them if one of then threw some concrete evidence in her face that can't be properly explained scientifically.
@@obsidianstag13 Ok, but what would have changed? At the end of the movie, we understand that Staple is a member of the secret organization that suppress superheroes, and they do this with 3 different methods, the first is to trick them, make them believe they are normal people. If the first method isn't enough, they start to use the second one, as they say in the movie "we use the machine", a surgery operation like the one they did to Mr. Glass. Then, again, if the first and second methods aren't enough, they use the third one, the most cruel one, they kill them, like at the end of the movie. Now, what would have changed if they would shown some concrete demostration of their powers? They would be subjected to the second or third method. The reason why David and Kevin doesn't show their powers is because of the devices that Staple use against them, the water for David, and the light for Kevin, they would be stopped.

I love his character too, but i suppose his death is now justified with bruce wills current health condition. I pray for the man. At Least he has a extremely loving and supportive family around him. Great actor!
I wanted to like this movie. It needed more action. Quite frankly, when the action was going on, it didn’t last long. The whole idea of them fighting on the tower got my hopes up all for nothing. Then they both die, expecting something greater to happen towards the end of the movie, like possibly David and the Beast coming back alive, but no. It just honestly didn’t satisfy but there was so much more potential for this movie that was untouched.
We can see david found it hard to breath when the beast hugged him and he also had a hard time escaping when the beast struggled him in their final fight and even if the bear hug would still not break david it would at least knock him out from lack of oxygen
I think the fight was kinda boring, however, its more realistic. Just because you have super human strength doesn't mean your some sort of fighting machine. That takes additional time and training. This scene seemed to be two sub-par fighters with also happens to be super strong. Just like all the real fights you've seen in person or on the internet. Most are not impressive.
I wish when David brushed up against the beast he would’ve been overwhelmed seeing all the personalities at once. Just something small I wish would’ve happened.
David is really strong, even as an old man. He is too durable and strong for even the beast, but the beast is really agile and manipulative. Also, David has the worse weakness.
The stuntman for David Dunn worrying about keeping his hood on took me right out of the scene in that instant… God this movie was such a wasted opportunity. It really pissed off McAvoy. He didn’t hide his disgust in subsequent interviews

1:46 that slight smile makes me think of the “Finally, a worthy opponent!” meme
It’s funny, I think for once in his life, the beast was slightly afraid, seeing that Dunn wasn’t going down as easily as everyone else
🎯
I think David's power was essentially that his strength, stamina, and endurance grew in response to the situation.
That's one of his powers; he's always as strong as he needs to be in the given situation. The other power, of course, is that he's physically invulnerable to everything except water entering his respiratory tract.
@@adamlone5548 I always assumed his fear of water temporarily removed his powers. While drowning he becomes a normal person.
As when drowning in the tank, he could no longer punch his way out.
David isn't super strong in the traditional sense, like the first comment said David is only as strong as he needs to be, it's more of a subconscious will to find the strength he needs to handle the current situation he's in like when he recounted the story of him ripping the car door off to save his girlfriend after they wrecked when he was younger and now him catching the table and overpowering the beast
Interesting
Shyamalan knew after Split, that fans are gonna want to see David and The Beast battle it out, I just love the look The Beast gives David 1:40, knowing he's just met his match.
Can not beat David.
Yeah it’s pretty obvious that David would eventually win. But still a good fight, wouldn’t be “easy” for David as it’d be time consuming. But David being indestructible makes it hard for the beast to win.
Anger and fear at once
I can't stop laughing at that girl that got clocked by that table LMAOOO 😂
Brings a whole new meaning to table manners right :D
Man. If your laughing at that... You scare me more than the beast
@@krishnayashas8360 i laughed too so
Glad I'm not the only one who laughed 😂
Then you should check out Malignant!
So this is basically a human Gollum squaring off against retired Luke Cage in a raincoat. Got it.
🤣
Obviously kind of
Nah hes one poncho man
Haha
God I was so excited for this then that ending happened... stupid m. Night shamlamadingdong strikes again...
I love how M Night doesn’t realize
Spoiler alert
That a secret organization bent on eliminating super humans is also incredibly unrealistic and that an insane asylum that was simply runned by the same people is also unbelievably stupid. Realistically, the only way for David to be killed was if the Horde finished him off in the puddle rather than a “secret” officer, plus it takes a really long time to drown someone without anyone else noticing.
Right on. That ending ruined the entire movie and franchise.
X2
it wouldn't have been so bad if he didnt throw a fucking childish tantrum on social media saying he was not continuing the franchise.... I mean honestly... he left us on a fucking cliffhanger with the worst ending possible to go on and troll us point blank... the guy is a prick.
What’s sad is during filming Bruce Willis had difficulty remembering his lines. He had to wear an ear piece for crews to tell him what to say next.
A lot are worried he could possibly be at an early stage of dementia hence why his being starring in so many direct to dvd movies as of late to get at much work as possible before it’s too late.
And unfortunately, he has just retired due to a disease called aphacia
Well you're correct.
The moment beast realize he met his match david dunn
It's mutual...epic scene.
@@grosano95 to bad it has a bad story and short fight scene or nonsense fight scene if they're both strong they should've shown how strong they both really is no like a holding back action fight scene

0:33 i love that kick that he does the beast is my fav character for sure
I love that the cheerleaders still pick up their friend even tho she was way behind and knocked out😊
0:18 if you can dodge a table you can dodge a ball!!!
These characters deserved a better fight scene
this is the best
When the beast did his python grip and David didn’t flinch it was missed opportunity for icing on the cake for this dialogue:
*Why Won’t you Break*
Unbreakable 😏😉
That’s messed up. Threw the table at that girl. Like damn😂
He was tryna teach her table manners 😂
@@that_dawg759 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Shit was hilarious
How did the girls react to David death
@@preciousotoakhia9789 idk but thanks for reminding me of him chucking that table at that girl lol
Daaaaamn Professor X on crack is awesome. Love it.
Its one hellva drug.
I imagine the Beast just being Professor X trying out the wrong mixture against his paralysis, going rogue mad for a year until they found him
Hahahaha I was expecting the girls to be unharmed in this scene but the cheerleader just got KNOCKED TF OUT!
Movie had so much god damn potential. I hate how ‘obverting expectations’ is just something people do now just for a shock value. The ending absolutely fucking blew chunks.
I like how David just stood as the beast pounded his chest and roared and then tackled him like oh no you didn't it's on this fight was awesome I just wish the fight wasn't cut short I would of liked to see how the fight would of ended and who the winner would of been .
It's would have not would of.
@@rudyNok David would have won without a problem as he is not only stronger but can take much more punishment. The only time Beast had any bit of an upper hand is when he had him from behind and squeezing with all his might and that did nothing.
I love the fact of having the match we were all expecting, at the very beginning.
Yep, I've still never hated the ending of a movie more than this one. 😒
A truly grounded superhero movie
Did you see the look on Dunn's face when he gets caught in a bear hug? He was getting bored. lmao
"Mommy, why are there no more Xmen?"
"The professor juiced up too much..."
Forcing him to either give up or hurt them is such an underhanded move
hated how they finished David... sorry for spoilers... but he was a good guy.. deserved better
David Dunn is forever my favorite superhero he will return like Logan 🙏🙏
I laughed so hard at this part 🤣🤣🤣:
Beast: "roarrrrrr!!!"
Dunn: *And I Took That Personally*
Man, this scene really showed David's strength
1:34 "How the hell did he survived that? How is he strong as me? What is he? Isn't he just a man?"
Fun fact being incapable of filling your nerves is not so fun but you can convince people you have powers
That girl getting yeeted by the table was so satisfying
Just stands there while the beast throws a table at the girl. Wow.
Most annoying part is how David died, he already overcame his drowning weakness, idk why they used it again.
@@Shanethefilmmakersure but he wad in a water tank and still used his powers
Remember, as well, David isn't using his full potential here as Mr. Glass tells him later in the film. He might even be more powerful than the beast. 🤦♂️💪
the first act of this film was so intriguing.
Super dark and serious super héroes , súper Bad and nasty villains,... Thats what world needs man! 🔥🔥🔥
Honestly when Dr. Staple was trying to convince the 3 characters that they were normal, Patricia should have mentioned that the Beast lifted a whole ass table with minimal effort, threw it several feet, then caught it easily only sliding back a foot or two. That would've shut Staple up.
As well as crawled up a wall, without any climbing equipment, just Kevin's body alone.
You are missing the point. Staple already know that they are real superheroes. She was just trying to trick them.
This movie taught me to never help people, because in the end, you'll just die drowning in a puddle.
When the unbreakable object meets the unstoppable force. Doesn't feel like an actual fight but amazing interactions nonetheless. After years still wish the ending was different specially for David.
I enjoyed this trilogy.
And the most brilliant thing about it was, we didn't even know we were going into a trilogy until the end of Split when david was revealed and the music came on. Amazing twist in itself!!
0:47 The camera angle, the facial expression, the lack of moving to counter.. eeek for direction.
David Dunn is forever my favorite superhero bring him back pls 🙏 just logan
I love his character too, but i suppose his death is now justified with bruce wills current health condition. I pray for the man. At Least he has a extremely loving and supportive family around him. Great actor!
I laughed so hard when that girl got yeeted by that table
I wanted to like this movie. It needed more action. Quite frankly, when the action was going on, it didn’t last long. The whole idea of them fighting on the tower got my hopes up all for nothing. Then they both die, expecting something greater to happen towards the end of the movie, like possibly David and the Beast coming back alive, but no. It just honestly didn’t satisfy but there was so much more potential for this movie that was untouched.
this guys survived train crashes, nothing the beast does here should effect him
Incredible fight chorography!
Just a raw, real, ugly yet beautiful clash of one superpower trying to get the upper hand over the other. No flashy stuff.
This is rage vs composure. Sometimes one wins over the other. Sometimes not.
We can see david found it hard to breath when the beast hugged him and he also had a hard time escaping when the beast struggled him in their final fight and even if the bear hug would still not break david it would at least knock him out from lack of oxygen
I don’t understand what these comments are talking about. This movie was brilliant
The girl gets knocked out by the table so badly she changes hair colour from Brunette to blonde as she gets picked up by her friends 😂😂😂😂😂
It's HER superpower...hair color change girl

Me and My brother fighting over a debate:
I think the fight was kinda boring, however, its more realistic. Just because you have super human strength doesn't mean your some sort of fighting machine. That takes additional time and training. This scene seemed to be two sub-par fighters with also happens to be super strong. Just like all the real fights you've seen in person or on the internet. Most are not impressive.
I wish when David brushed up against the beast he would’ve been overwhelmed seeing all the personalities at once. Just something small I wish would’ve happened.
David should have never died
Literally "when unstoppable force met immovable object" moment
Congrats, you're the millionth person to say that.
Is this the continuation of the movie split?
Yes it is
It also continues the very 1st movie Unbreakable which told the story of David Dunn and Mr. Glass
Yes

Wolverine would turn Beast into prime cuts, ready for sale, in 5 seconds.
David is really strong, even as an old man. He is too durable and strong for even the beast, but the beast is really agile and manipulative. Also, David has the worse weakness.
Takes a shower and his a normal bloke again lmao
Great film love it 😊
The stuntman for David Dunn worrying about keeping his hood on took me right out of the scene in that instant…
God this movie was such a wasted opportunity. It really pissed off McAvoy. He didn’t hide his disgust in subsequent interviews
The worst thing in any movie lately is having Bruce Willis in it for whatever reason. He doesn't care to act, move or do anything. That's why all the scenes he's actually in are either slow af, or someone else is doing the work and he is just reacting (badly)
@@Axel8745693 Once Bruce Willis passed a certain age he just stopped trying.
@@DeathBringer769 considering he also was forced to retire recently cuz of a memory illness there that too. Even in this film he was showing signs of it having to wear an earpiece.
