My son loves to watch me melting embossing powder. He said the same thing it's so cool mom and it relaxes me for some reason. Just a note this man is 30 years old 😊😂... Absolutely wonderful tip I appreciate this video so much thank you for sharing. 💖
Now there you go, lol, good for him😁you're welcome💖
OMGoodness what a fabulous video. Some amazing results, with things I haven’t seen before. You have a new subscriber Gerry . Thank you 🎄 Merry Christmas
thanks and you're welcome💖
This popped up on my Home Screen today, so watched it for the 2nd time , and what a great reminder! Also I had an idea pop into my head about the glue stick I’ll try - to pencil a shape then use the glue stick over it … I’m thinking that drawing someone’s name and then embossing over it could look really cool for a personalised card.
great, have some fun with it💕
So interesting thanks for sharing.
you're welcome💖
Great suggestions.
thanks💖
Hi Gerry. Bibi is super adorable. TFS these awesome tips my genius crafty friend. Keep well. God bless 😁💙🤗
and she knows it😉🐾 you're welcome💖
If you are using stick glue or double stick tape with a chunky powder, press the card into the powder. You can even arrange the powder on your surface to pick up more or less of whichever element. After your press just sprinkle over the top to fill gaps.
ok
Gerry, this video was soooo helpful. I have stamped for years, but haven't really thought that much about the embossing alternatives. Lots of food for thought. You are sooo creative. I want to thank you for your video and all the time you put into development and making them. I know you will come to us with a big smile and happy attitude. Want to wish you a wonderful holidays. Looking forward to seeing you in 2022.
thanks and you're welcome, I have one more planned for this year coming Friday, lot's of fun filming and it turned out quite goofy😉💖 Have a wonderful Holiday!
With the water if u heat from the back the embossing powder stays on better.
yes, I know, but I find that so annoying as you have to hold the paper, and it warps more easily. But it's definitely a great way to keep the powder in place, tfs
There is something so mesmerizing about watching powder turn to solid. Thanks for more great ideas!
love that word mesmerizing😍you're welcome💖
I’m so glad I found this video! I think I will try diluting acrylic gloss medium. If it works, it could be applied with a dabber, paint brush, needle nose applicator, etc. You might even be able to soak a sponge and load your stamps with it…. Also, I wonder how Posca pens would work? (For any of the acrylic mediums, it’s important to wear a mask or ventilate your room adequately, as acrylic creates toxic fumes when heated).
Thank you for sharing your great ideas!
thanks, have fun experimenting💖
I still remember the first time I saw someone melt embossing powder…at a kiosk, at a mall, probably 35+ years ago. It amazed me, and still does! TFS!
isn't it the coolest thing🤩 thanks and you're welcome💖
Of all the tips, I really like the plaid idea best. Edges of card can be straight once again. I can now make my own buffalo plaid too. :) Blessings!
thanks, have fun💖
I think I love the gesso on a sponge idea the best. Fabulous video, Gerry. Merry Christmas to you, BeBe and your partner!
thanks💖 Same to you sweetie🎄🐾
Hi. I am starting to experiment with embossing but I will be making large quantities with the same design. Has anyone ever tried to apply the glue through a screen printing screen? I am thinking wood glue mixed with water should work well for this.
Just make sure to test the right mixture, not to liquid and not too much glue, as glue can bubble when heated, so do a few test runs on scrap paper, have fun experimenting💖
So cool. I've been playing with mixing embossing powders with mica powder or other embossing powders to make paper look like old metal. I need to try these techniques too.
thanks💖 that sounds like fun, enjoy some more😉
My clear pad dried out as I have had it for years, maybe used it a couple of times. I put glycerine on it, but way too much evidently, so my attempt at embossing a stamped image was a complete failure! I definitely needed this tutorial! Thank you :D
oh dear, maybe try leaving it open to dry🤔Until then you have some different options, enjoy💕
@@GerrysCraftRoom Good idea, I didn't think of that! Yes, I intend to try your options, for sure :D
Thanks for this video. I have some multi coloured embossing powders and rarely use them. I'd not thought to make card backgrounds with them. Now you've inspired me, I'm going to give these techniques a go. Tfs x
yay, dig up those powders and have fun! you're welcome💖
If you let the paste dry before heating the embossing powder you won't get any bubbles if you want a smoother embossing
thanks for sharing, it depends on the kind of paste too, not all pastes bubble😉
Gerry, This is so cool!!! I have so much embossing powder!!! Thanks so much for sharing!! Hope you have a blessed and a very Merry Christmas!!
start digging them up then, you're welcome💖have a wonderful Xmas as well
"have you running to your craft room" just made me laugh - what happy enthusiasm! Yes, I should do more embossing powder play! One note though, not all double sided adhesives (tape or sheet) are heat resistant. Get that heat tool a little too close and it will create a whole new surprise look!
yep, running for sure, LOL😉 Surprise looks can be fun, thanks for sharing, I only know from the ones that I have tested💖
I think the sponge and the tape are my favorite 🤩
thanks💖
Geweldige vondst. Kan nog net eenpaar kerstkaarten er mee maken.
dankjewel, mooie net op tijd dan😉veel plezier
Love the different ways to use the embossing powders. Where can you purchase thick white embossing powder?
Hi Gerry, I don't have any embossing powder or a heat gun but they are on my wish list. I like how you used unconventional things to adhere the embossing powder. I especially liked the first one you made and the one with the double sided adhesive tape. I wonder if tape from a tape runner would be durable enough to withstand the heat? I hope you and your family have a very Happy Holiday! Your little doggie could not be any cuter!! ♡♡
That's great to have on a wish list, lots of cool options (I should look for a dual speed tool, gives you more options😉) Now there's an idea with a tape runner, thanks, I will try that for sure, I have some more ideas on a list to try😱have a wonderful holiday as well and Beebs wants to say thanks🐾😉
How could there be any more uses? 😂😂😂 I love your doggie!!!! I have two long haired chihuahuas and people always think they are papillons.
lol, once you get started🤩 Me too, they can be quite similar🐾🥰
Ooooh dat hondje, wat superschattig! Oeps... het ging over embossingpowder, heel leuk... as always! Maar ik vond het hondje toch het leukst. 🤣🤣🤣
Helemaal mee eens, Beebs wint het van EP altijd😆🐾
I have just discovered your channel. Thank you for your inspiring videos.💜
cool, you're welcome💕
AESTHETIC CREATION. . like your advoice
thanks💖
Great Video! ✨💕 I Have a Ton of Embossing Powders I Haven’t Used…I Will Give Soma of These a Try! 👍🏼✨ Your Dog is Beyond Adorable! 💕🐶
thanks💖 great idea, time to dig them up😉Beebs says hi🐾
Thank you so much for this video! I’m always a little hesitant to experiment with our craft supplies but since watching this video, I’m getting out all my powders and play using texture paste instead of ink! 😊
you're welcome💖 have lots of fun making it stick🤩
Great ideas! Embossing powder is magical, even if you have used it for years!
thanks💖 Yes, a bit of magic in a jar😉
So many clever options for using our powders! Love seeing little Bibi becoming a star, too! lol!
thanks💖 Beebs as the showstopper😆
Embossing drives me crazy..never comes out right! Thank you for this video..it gives me hope!!
forget right and just do, then it can almost never go wrong😉
Wow!! What a great idea. Love your videos👍🏻👍🏻😍😍🇬🇧🇬🇧
thanks💖
Thx so much, I have a couple of embossingpowders I hardly ever use, that will be amazing with some of your ideas, thx so much 4 the inspiration, got even more ideas for them by watching your video 👍
yay, there you go, time to dig them up and play😉have fun💕
Thank you very much for this video I had these questions recently and being very new and not having had the opportunity to work with embossing powders before found this extremely informative. Thank you
Thanks, you're welcome💕 Have lots of fun!
Exactly what I was looking for. THANK-YOU🙂
Great, you're welcome💖
May I ask what kind of paiste?
one is Ranger Ink - Texture Paste - Transparent Gloss ldli.co/e/07pxgn5 [ Scrapbook.com ] ldli.co/e/43k95pn [ joggles.com ] and the other one is Tim Holtz - Distress Texture Paste Matte ldli.co/e/262d4px [ Scrapbook.com ] ldli.co/e/5yrk3m0 [ joggles.com ]
Thank you so much for answering my question. Merry Christmas and New year ❤️
What fantastic ideas! Thank you ever so much. Excellent no panic if you should run out of embossing ink too. LOL So cute at the end with your dog.
thanks, no we don't need Craft Panic😉💖 Beebs says thanks as well🐾
Gerry, these backgrounds are so lovely, but I wonder what can be done with them next? Do you have a video showing the next step to making them into a card?
No video on that😉 Backgrounds that are a bit busy or have loads of interest will do with a simple sentiment, in black or white for contrast. You can add that on a tag or over a piece of vellum to make it more playful
Great video with lots of new information. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, you're welcome💕
Please caption your videos. Had to skip because yours aren't caltioned.
it's a free YT feature that's not always available it's getting better though
Hi, I make things with clay and I want patterns to have the embossing power in.
Do I have to use the ink or can I just pour over the gaps to melt and then seal after, because I can't paint the ink inbetween and get it that precise?
if the clay is not dry it will stick to that, if the clay is dry you could try misting water, add EP and then scrape off excess with something flat. I've never tried it so experiment a bit to see what works...
Gerry, I was looking at your newsletter for these cards and you mentioned your treasure box. I'll submit Gerry's Gems or Gerry's Gewels!
thanks, loving that one the double G has a nice ring to it💖
Gerry, you are so innovative! I learn so much from watching you. Wishing you and yours the happiest of holidays!
thanks Judy, same to you and your family💖
Thank u for this tutorial. I bought powered with no ink and was wondering if I can use it with other materials
Thanka
yes you can, you're welcome💖
Thank you for showing all the ways to use my embossing powders with other products. I am definitely going to give it a try.
Have loads of fun💕
Excellent! I am going to play NOW, thank you!
thanks, that's a fab idea Judy💖
Where can we find a page or something that has the samples like you were showing? Some looked like they had patterns.
I have the pictures on my blog: gerryscraftroom.com/make-embossing-powder-stick/
I think the pattern one was with the stencil and paste...
I always have the link to the blogpost with pics in the description box below the video
I love all your ideas! Now I want to see what you did with those backgrounds!
thanks💖 Let me think about that😉
Thank you for so many new idea's
Merry Christmas 🌲⛄
you're welcome💖
So cool and some interesting methods and the gross comment made me laugh so hard just love watching you
it was kinda gross wasn't, could you see it in your minds eye?😆thanks💖
When I use water, I heat-up from under the papier so the powder stays is not blown away.
I know, it’s a great trick but I don’t like to do that as I have to hold the paper and it warps more easily😉
I just love your videos and your fun personality!!
cool, thanks💖😊
Fun tutorial! Thanks for all the tips.
💛TR
Thanks, as always, you're welcome😊💕
I found the light embossing powder is like that
yes only some, it works with most I have tried😉
Can this be used with resin for collage for I stand?
I have no idea, maybe, just try on a small part or piece😉
Sous titres non accessibles dommage..... beaucoup de personnes ne peuvent pas suivre vos conseils alors que la plupart des autres ont la traduction intégrée possible......
Hi Lilifee, the automatic titles are done by UA-cam, and sometimes they just aren't available, or in a weird half English-Dutch that makes no sense. It's a pretty new service that is getting better, this is a somewhat older video in the newer ones the subtitles are good. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask
Great ideas and love your cheerfulness😀
thanks💖 😊
Animal lover…..I love it your papillon ❤is so cute
Cool, thanks💖 🐾
Great tips! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks, you're welcome💕
i love embossing powder you are using with the little bits of other colour in it
I love those too, they are a bit playful😉
More great ideas! Bibi is so adorable! 😍 When you emboss multiple layers, how do you avoid remelting the previous layers that are already embossed?
thanks💖🐾 I think that's unavoidable, as the melted EP will melt again when heating it again. Maybe if you have something really cold underneath the already melted piece, layer...🤔
Very useful video. Thank you Gerry!
Thanks, you're welcome💕
Thank you I really am excited.
cool, have fun
Thanks. I like the sponge one the best.
you're welcome💖
Another great tutorial! Thank you!
Thanks, you're welcome💕
I loved this video so much! CN you tell me where to get the stencil you used at the beginning of the video? It had some grid areas with a swirl at the top of the stencil. Thanks so much!
Great, thanks💖 this is the one: Elizabeth St Hilaire The Klimt Collection Mask - Gustav And Emile ldli.co/e/kqkm649
@@GerrysCraftRoom Thank you! I just added to my cart where I already had a few items ready to purchase at Joggles.
@@julierholl cool, love the amazing people at Joggles😍
Never thought about other media beside inks to use my powders, awesome
Cool ,have loads of fun trying💖
@@GerrysCraftRoom ideas for swatch lists of all powders? As not all are listed anywhere to print like ranger has for example
Fabulous idea's never knew about these ..Thankyou !
Thanks, you're welcome💕
@@GerrysCraftRoom 💕
Great techniques, thank you
Thanks, you're welcome💕
You are right - I’m running to my art room - great ideas
thanks, have fun😁💕
I'm amazed that water would hold the powder on
it needs something to stick until it melts and then it will stay permanent.
I saw your question about vellum too (but can't find it anymore😉) I was curious so I looked it up, the term parchment and vellum are also used in the paper making industry. Parchment paper is made from cellulose fibers prepared from fir trees or plants such as cotton or flax so definitely no animal skin.
That was fun thank you so much for sharing
thanks, you're welcome💖
Thanks for sharing your tips. Can’t wait to try this!❤️
you're welcome, have fun💖
Great techniques! Cant wait to try
thanks have loads of fun💖
Your puppy is gorgeous, she is so sweet and beautiful. I will have to show her to mine next time she is on. I love ❤ 😍 how you talk to her. I talk to mine all the time.

I enjoy so very much always watching you videos and techniques - BUT MY FAVORITE part is the CHEER AND POSITIVE IN YOUR VOICE. such a pleasure to see and hear smiles, cheer and positive attitude these days.
thanks, I did have a bit of fun making this video, so glad it shows in the end result😊💖
What a fun video. Love the backgrounds you created. And oh my..... She is soooo cute!
Btw, love your hair 😉
thanks, and she knows it😁💖 hmmm not quite sure about that yet, LOL but thanks😊
Which embossing powder did you use when you started playing the music? It looked like a dark silver metallic but maybe some copper in it? I really liked that! I just have the normal black, clear?”, etc, but somehow I got lime green which I like but I never know what to use it on.
where you gazing, LOL😆 that one is Cosmic Shimmer Mixed Media Embossing Powder - Iron Age ldli.co/e/jqe9e41 [ joggles.com ] You could add it on some leaves or a frame and then layer, yay😁so use it and a base layer and then add some pink or blue (you can never go wrong with blue😍)
Very nice.. great ideas as usual!! Especially the glue stick..my granddaughters will LOVE this!!
thanks, cool have lots of fun playing💕
Beautiful puppy! Cute techniques! One way you could stop blowing embossing powder around is heat it from the back then move to the front to finish. Great video! Tfs.
thanks💖 yes that's a way to make the powder melt, tfs I don't like the fuss with melting the back and then the front, you have to hold it and my paper always warps, fingers burned, pffft, lol😉
Thanks, for the music, enjoyed it & reminds me to relax. Great tips! Thanks for sharing!
yep, keep on breathing and relax and have fun, you're welcome💖
Cute dog. I'm always in awe about the techniques you show us. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
