Hi Rory, Im Sandra... and I just found you... very impressed Gf!! Im learning as I go, as we all are, and love this idea.Im certainly going to try it.. Im so dazzled with what youve done, including the paper spoon!! and goodness your nails are beautiful too... hahahahah... Definitely subbing!! and will checkout more vids!!
The reason why it works is because embossing powder is actually very fine shredded plastic. What gives the eye shadow the glimmer is the mica powder. Mica powder is very cheap and easy to use in many projects. And because you're using clear embossing powder, whatever color you choose of mica powder it will work. It also enhances your other embossing powders. Enjoy and have fun crafting.
I learn something new everyday! I had no idea it was finely shredded plastic lol. No wonder it melted under a heat tool like that! I would love to get the Mica powders from Arteza! They are so pretty 😍 Thank you for watching and commenting!! 😊💖
Worked at a craft company for many years and we used clear powder and mixed with various colour glitters to give you the sparkly colored powder. Darker colours you add less to powder and lighter colours you can add more glitter depending on how sparkly yu want the powder
And I had spent 7.95 on a jar of rose gold embossing powder… not to mention the countless separate jars of embossing powder by color that I’ve spent $ on. This idea is fabulous! Thank you for sharing! I won’t be buying any more embossing powders from now on. 😃
Well maybe one jar of clear and one jar of white lol.. Gotta have something to mix the eyeshadow with! So glad I could help you save some money 😉💖 Thanks for watching!

Great idea. In the UK I use Indigoblu's Luscious powders to make coloured embossing powder. Luscious can be used for all sorts - paint, mica, clay, resin etc in loads of amazing colours including two-tone. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you for this experiment. I have jotted down your formula. I buy only clear EP now and usually check the eye shadow colors at the $ stores. I can pick up all kinds of metallics and saturated colors for really cheap. Love when someone does all the scientific lab work for me - it's such a saver of $$ and time.
In a auction my son got me a grab bag of arts and crafts things, but no hot gun. Lotta stuff I have to get, but when I do I will be checking u out more. Thank you for sharing, it was fun 😊

First time for me seeing eye shadow used as embossing powder. Who would have thought. (3 parts clear embossing powder and 1 part eye shadow). Gorgeous.
I do this all the time by mixing it with mica powders which you can buy pretty cheap just look for mica powders that are used for soap making or resin crafts for the cheapest price on the powders.
This is a good idea! Another unusual use for eye shadow... I was looking for a new scrapping "chalk pallet", and I couldn't find one. The craft stores I visited said that they weren't in style anymore. But one of the employees suggested eye shadow instead. It doesn't work on straight paper as well as the chalk, but if you stamp with pigment ink, and then brush over it with the powder, it gives a nice muted color.

Very cool technique! Takes me back to a better time in life when I used to play in my craft room experimenting with everything. This gives me inspiration to play again and that’s been hard to come by since my husband’s death. I sure appreciate your sharing! Any suggestions? Can’t wait to see what else you’ve got on your channel! TFS! 🌹Ali K.
Hi, Allison! My real art journey started 10 years ago when my husband died as well.. I drew 450 mandalas in 6 months grieving, so I know what your saying... As for the eyeshadow crushing, I would used an old bowl and the back of a spoon.. This works really well! Unless you have a mortise and pestal, then bowl and spoon lol Hope this helps! Thanks for watching and Happy Crafting! 😁💖
@@CoffeeandCraftswithRory I’m so sorry to hear you lost your husband 😢🙏🏻. Thank you for your reply. I had to laugh. Your right. The back of a spoon, duh! What really made me laugh was the fact that I actually do have a (what do you call it?) Pestal and Morter? Something like that, but you obviously know what I’m talking about! Although it is a pharmaceutical tool from back in the day, I’ve never used it for medication! I have, however, crushed and mixed “you name it” up in there. I so thank you for actual inspiration to play around again and I definitely appreciate you replying to me and refreshing my memory. I keep passing by an inexpensive eyeshadow kit I bought one Christmas that had beautiful colors in it, specifically to use in crafting, but their in cake form. I have tons of actual mica powders (that weren’t cheap) and loose eyeshadows, Perfect Pearls, etc., that have just sat there waiting for me. Thanks to you, I’m going to play! 💕 Ali K.
