LOL you said jack shaft!! That beeing said, I think its fine that the current ev trucks are aimed at the general public, the dude who's like me and drives a light duty truck as a family vehicle that hauls any kind of weight only three tp six times a year.Maybe theyll get more rugged over time as they have platforms that are capable to handle the work truck abuse.

Ive been keeping my eye on Edison motors they are the only ones really trying to put EV tech to actual work, its been intriguing to watch them grow to where they are now.. check em out if you havnt seem them yet

They might be a good outside force in convincing manufacturers and buyers on the heavy side of light duty trucks that there's room for an EV built for people who haul something other than ass.

I would love to see a combustion engine generator/ EV hybrid with a low and high gearing selector while offering a direct drive.

The novel part of an electric powertrain here is they really only need to put a low range in the rear drive assembly and there's a way to build a small, durable and quiet 2:1 reduction with constant mesh so it can shift in and out on the fly.
