When I first saw you Mikhaila, I thought you would be one of those kids of famous parents who fill the media with scandals and never really find their meaningful life path. Holy shit! I was on paxil for a while years ago and whenever id forget to fill my script and run out. After 2 days as soon as it cleared my system, id feel terribly unhealthy and sick, sickly. Id have extreme vertigo, id look to the side and get a jolt/shock in my brain stem and that vertigo feeling almost losing my balance. Walking down stairs was terrible too. Lol, interesting anecdote. I was in my 20s and partied often and do coke. Anyways one of those times i was suffering miserably, someone had coke and gave me a blast. All my ssri withdrawal symptoms disappeared immediately and didnt come back for about 2 days. Mustve been due to the coke releasing dopamine etc. Whatever the reason its a good thing my withdrawals went away otherwise i wouldve binged forever on coke lol.
Up until the last few decades,, rabbits were all some folk could get their hands on. It was known as one of most digestible meats, with high nutritional values.
Interesting. I’ve heard that you couldn’t live on a rabbit only diet due to something called “rabbit starvation”. Apparently people were dying because of rabbits not having enough fat. I don’t know if that’s true or just more anti hunting propaganda.
@@billystink4611 i’m not expert but to answer you in short yes.. Rabbit meat is deficient in fats. But is classed as top of the group nutritionally in meats. In 100 grams of rabbit meat, there are only 3.5 grams of fat.It has many health benefits because of low fats. It reduces weight and cholesterol levels. To counter it been so lean a coating of duck fat or similar can be used. Rabbit meat is extremely rich in proteins. Usually, when we eat different meats, we get proteins, but we also face digestive problems. But rabbit meat is easily digestible, so you get all necessary proteins without any digestive issues. Thirty-three grams of rabbit meat contains 66% of proteins. Before commercialisation of meat Rabbit and other game was the meat of choice on many a home table. It’s slowly coming back in a regenerative sustainable manner via homesteads.
Watch her podcast. Dude, you want a role model for young people, here she is (note I didn't say women, it was on purpose). I haven't done a deep dive to the T on her, but figuring out a cure for her crippling health problems and branding it is badass. Then being supportive to her family when in the public eye and though the character assassination attempts(non worked). Then 2 absolutely crazy health crises. First with her mother that they thought are losing and then with her dad who was misdiagnosed and had to move him to Russia for treatment. And in the middle of all that she kept it together with dignity. Now she's sharing the podcast with mr. Peterson to help him get in the swing of things. Mikhaila is a absolute treasure of a human being. Once again, watch her podcast. I learned a lot.
Another story ... My father worked inside at night for years and then hecwas transferred to days outside. He went from cool to hot, and he worked hard. When he transferred shifts he had a nervous break down. He was put in the hospital for sux weeks. The doctors gave him lithium which he always had to take from then on through the rest of the life. I really think it was because his electrolytes got messed up from him not being use to the hot sun.

Regarding the comment about atheists: I can't speak for other atheists, but I don't believe being an atheist makes me a narcissist, but at least in my case, saying I am an atheist doesn't tell the whole story. I feel it is completely possible there is some higher power, some god out there that we have at present no understanding of, but I am 99.9% sure it isn't the Christian god and since I live in America where most religious people are Christian, it is easier to say I am an atheist than to say I am an atheist about the Christian god. I have actually said exactly that a few times, but then it usually devolves into something along the line "well if you believe there might be a god, why can't it be the Christian god?" and when I start giving reasons it turns into an argument and I am not interested in argument.
People can change, and switch up there opinions about someone whenever they have realized how wrong . they might have been. It's called FREEDOM OF CHOICE!!!
Well so wonderful to see just original people to whom I don't always agreed. But I know thair opinions coming from inside of themselves. Observed not importanted
I had to do Specific Carb Diet for 2 years. I still can't tolerate American beef too well. It's really hard to have everyone around you look like you're crazy to try and get healthy again. I'm breastfeeding now but I might go back to doing more paleo after I'm done.
😀 agreed, true! If one must, then the best sauce in my opinion is the steak's own juices plus butter. Can't go wrong with butter. Especially for those steaks that are too lean.
Politicians are far more fearful of being perceived as having done nothing in the face of adversity than they are of the harmful effects of doing something. Whereas they can spin their own actions w/ negative results into looking much better, while taking no action can be spun to look much worse by their political opposition.
Lot of respect for Ms. Peterson, I find basically all of her thoughts insightful and her diet very benficial to me personally, I do find it a bit strange that she has such a strong reaction to atheists almost using the word narcissistic, even as she admits her own thoughts aren't clear and is basing her belief on various coincidences? Would love to see her really hash this out possibly talking to a prominent atheist. Again, not trying to attack or put down.

Yes, eating fruit is like eating sugar (arguably perhaps even worse). The sugar in fruits is called fructose. The sugar in table sugar is sucrose (part fructose, part glucose). As for nuts and veggies, I can't recall specific links to inflammation (I feel i might have read it somewhere), BUT you might want to look up phytic acid, lectins, and oxalates which are just 3 of a whole slew of problematic substances found in nuts, grains, seeds, legumes and veggies.
@@miklimecat9636 thanks so very much I will. How about probiotics along with the meat I'm worried about gut bacteria plus I'm poor so if I suddenly cant get meat I dont want to die because I had to eat some rice or something
@@1threat2humanityakausa25 the gut biome is still largely unknown territory. But the easiest way to get some probiotics would be from things like yogurt, kefir, fermented foods etc. Pay attention to any body reactions. I would strongly caution against rapidly switching to carnivore as diarrhea seems to happen to a lot of ppl who switch too suddenly. It might have to do with the gut bacteria adjusting but no one really knows. I didn't have any problems but I think it's because I started with low carb, then Keto and went thru the standard 3 week transition period (where you need to up your salt and get electrolytes to avoid the keto flu). I was omnivore Keto (various meats with lots of non-starchy vegs, eggs, dairy, butter, cream) for 3 yrs. Switched to Carnivore, which is a subcategory of Keto, early this year with no problems. It took me 2 months to use up all my veggies till I was down to the last onion. Dropping the veggies really helped with the aching joints in my case.
Not at all. From what i understand (1) various organ meats actually have some vit c, enough to prevent scurvy. (2) Carbs and vit c use the same pathways in the body, meaning they compete with each other for absorption? or something like that. Which then means (3) if you don't have carbs in your diet, you need less vit c. And by the way, we don't need carbs, they're not an essential nutrient. The body can make its own glucose (via gluconeogenesis) provided that one eats adequate protein and fats.
@@zachary813 I hear they were eating carbs. There's this buscuit called "tack" that would last forever. That seems the likely suspect. Contrast this with the Inuit people who survived on whale and seal without carbs nor plants (ecxept maybe in the summer?) They didn't get scurvy.
@@zachary813 They were eating salted meat, probably no organs. Could be if preserved it loses vitamins. The other thing could be that they probably soaked the salted meat and poured that water away, it might have washed out most remaining nutrients.

Brad ... it is true. I don't really believe in allergies. My family has never had a food allergy except when I was very young I would get a rash from tomatoes, which tomatoes I loved so much and pleaded for them. My mother's remedy was to feed me more ... and it worked. My father's sisters family have always been alergic to everything. ... I mean everything. I feel an alergy is an over reaction to something and I believe can be controled with my mind. I just tell my self I don't have alergies and totally ignore the slightest itch. And it works. I learned this when once I took a antibiotic that caused me to break out in hives. When I was home I would scratch my hives because it felt so good, that caused them to be severe and all over me. But ... while I was at work I couldn't scratch and I didn't have time to think about them. When I ignored them they just went away. So I tried ignoring hayfever. After a few years I discovered if when I first felt the signs of hayfever I immediately did not react. No scratching. And ... I would comment out loud to myself oh I do not have hayfever any more. And ... it worked. I do mot get hayfever anymore. There is a tall grass here on the Oregon coast where I spend the summer surfing, that make my eyes swell up and start itching once a year when it starts growing again. I always walk slowly through it. I gently grab it as I walk and run it through my fingers and handle the flowering part for a few minutes. I comment out loudly to myself how wonderful that grass is and how I'm not alergic to it. Whithin the hour my eyes clear up and it doesn't happen again until the next year. For the rest of the summer, though, I am out in the grass sitting in it, walking through it, laying in it because it is one of my favirite surf spots, and then I don't think about it again unti the next summer when I first drive up in it, when it starts growing again. About 10 years ago I was experiencing a little candida. I tried a lot of medical remedies. Finally, something which I don't believe in ... I stopped eating bread because I was told it was caused by gluten intolerance. I really hate that people think they have an intolererance for bread but I tried it anyway. That was my cure. I have had quite a few discussions with friends and medical people ... we all agree that bread is not the same way it was in the 80's. I'm thinking it has something to do with extending it's shelf life instead of gluten. Just my thought. ... maybe. Sometimes I make my own bread but I don't experience a proble. Infact, I use flour in a lot if my cooking including pasta without any reactions. It's just store bought bread that affects me.
The more open-minded within the scientific community would take into consideration your journey and experience. The mind is quite powerful and persuasive as well as gullible without self-moderation. IMHO the body is so complex that I can believe your approach is valid and effective while it won't work for someone else. Who knows why. Not enough of a positive and confident of an approach? Weaker mind than yours? On the note of bread and "gluten" sensitivities, it seems again that the public takes whatever anyone from the field of Science says ( even though they debate among themselves and are often about probabilities as well, not definitive 100% conclusions forever ) and goes with it. New diet fads, new pills, the most amazing cure...ever. I remember eggs being fine, then in the 90's it was only egg whites, not the yolks, then back to eggs-are-fine. Count me very skeptical of "the lastest thing". Same with butter vs. margarine. ( I will only use butter, BTW, and it's one of those things where I don't trust margarine at all. ) An in-law of mine is a bit of a sloppy pseudo-science "doctor" ( hint: he didn't spend 6 years of more earning a Ph.d in anything, but spent a year in China learning herbs/iridology ) and he was preaching how everyone is probably suffering from gluten. My radar went off inside my brain immediately. Why? It seems incredibly lazy intellectually to ascribe one-problem-to-everyone. Yet...it was the Gluten Fad. After the mania calmed down, there were articles on how a minority of the population has a legit problem with gluten, while most do not. Sounds like common sense. At the same time, when my friend who's on the keto diet talked down about processed grains/flour, I took a harder look at the unbleached flour I use for baking. I NEVER knew that the wheat grain is basically stripped of its goodness, i.e. bran/fiber. Since, I made the switch to whole wheat flour and...it seems to be a beneficial difference. Less drag afterwards in energy and it feels "cleaner". The question in all of these matters is whether this is wishful thinking + placebo, ya know? Maybe both truly feeling better AND placebo? Oh, another thing is that I gave up buying "quality" bread, i.e. independent bakery 9-grain, and went to whole grain rye and that is much easier on my brain/energy/digestion. All that said, I'm definitely gonna reflect on your approach to allergies. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
@@machtnichtsseimann ... Thank you for sharing also. I wrote it in hurry and I'm not that great of writer anyway so I edited it a little. I wanted to let you know I feel the same way as you about the gluten fad, I felt people were just being gullible. I often talk about the time we were told eggs were bad for us. I totally agree with you on that. I just think I miswrote what I was trying to say. Yes ... our mind is powerful and can be misguided by things we hear and think. It's really cool to think about it, though. I hope you let me know about your experience if you discover it works for you or does not. Thank you.
@@trinacorbett4827 Will do! I'm still a bit of a wuss when it comes to itchy skin, for example. I am VERY sensitive to regular laundry detergent and even when I used one with "essential oils", exotic level of detergent, I still itched. Dr. Bronner's for shower soap? Itchy. Not all the time, so maybe it's coupled with seasonal allergies as well. Our minds are amazingly stronger than we often realize AND amazingly weaker than we want to acknowledge. ( This might not interest you, but given my religious upbringing I've had many questions to ponder about life/truth. As a challenge, one of the things I did was watch "Bullsh*t" episodes with Penn & Teller. It's coarse, and funny, and informative for the 1/2 hour each show is. It's biased towards a secular, non-relgious view, which isn't all bad/all good. I will say, there were many, many valid points made and it fortified my mind a bit, too. Just a suggestion, if that sounds appealing to you. Also, watching debates on YT is a good way to learn and exercise one's mind. All right. I'll shut up! LoL. )
@@machtnichtsseimann I have enjoyed your thoughts. I'm curious about your religous upbringing and search for truth. Do you mind me asking you about your search for truth ?
@@trinacorbett4827 - Since you seem quite decent and reasonable ( for social media standards, especially ), I don't mind your asking and my answering. I'll try to keep this a bit more succinct! LoL. My upbringing was in a rather moderate home life where we watched regular tv / sitcoms and my school/church life was in what would be construed as a Fundamentalist Christian structure. God/Jesus is the Way belief system. Here's at least one catch: While my private life was a healthy balance, if you will, to the very rigid public education ( not all bad and/or fanatical ), my temperament was such that "I" never quite fit in. I did on a more superficial, social level, dressing within or near the norms, believing on the most part what the teachings taught, BUT...down deep my inner voice was one of a contrarian and questioner and bold dissenter, if need be. Jordan Peterson talked about this with the Big Five test, which I haven't taken, but when he's spoken of trait openness ( curiosity ), then that's me. I've always been much, much more open to listening to different points-of-view than the vast majority of my Christian brothers and sisters. I haven't been as locked into a us vs. them mentality. This is where nurture aided my mental development in that my father modeled an openness to "Truth" in "other" forms outside of general Fundamentalist Christian circles. 'Til his dying day he would mention Lao Tzu or he would enjoy the intellectual humor of a Steve Martin. Because in great comedy there is a reflection of "Truth". And our jesters can be quite prophetic, IMO. Another thing that gnawed on me over the recent years is how I HAD to finally ask THE MOST DIFFICULT questions of life, of my religion, of my faith tradition, since...again, too many Christians and churches weren't facing them or chose to deflect them away and "just believe". That has never worked for me, but I was too much of a coward to ask: What about Hell? Salvation? Afterlife? Life of Jesus...and Resurrection? Problems with the texts? This is where a Penn Teller, still an Atheist, was invaluable to a guy like me, because he would go as far as mock Christians for their "un-provable" claims, and honestly I shared some of that sentiment. It wasn't about taking silly cheapshots at my community ( OK, sometimes it was! haha ), but it was about searching for "Truth". This is where I spent so much time watching interviews and debates on YT ( Christopher Hitchens, Bart Ehrmann, Sam Harris, Jordan Peterson ) and allowed myself to be exposed for the weak answers I had as well as strengthen my convictions against the impotent answers from Atheists/Agnostics I ran across. There is a verse in the Bible, Book of John, that you might be very familiar with in terms of people mocking Christians for it: "I am the Way, the Truth, the Life. No one comes to the Father buy by me." Spoken by Jesus, according to tradition. There is debate on whether He actually said it, what it means. Of course, my tradition taught me that it meant that He is THE only way to heaven, and He is THE Truth. Full Confession: Whether Jesus said that or not, I do still have a bias according to my upbringing that He was/is THE embodiment of Truth, the only innocent such human that ever walked the earth. ( Connecting the dots is another conversation altogether. ) At the same time, I do not turn my brain off when anyone who is not a "Christian" speaks, teaches, shares their life and reflections, for they carry a "t"ruth, because we are all made in God's Image. We all reflect the creative love and power and energy of the Creator. I also was fortunate enough to be wired/blessed to value personal responsibility and efficiency in learning. ( NOT that I am perfect through every area of life...I have my resistances to certain "change", if you will. ) Specifically, why aren't countless people in the world intellectually honest? Seriously. How hard is it to say: I don't know. As well as to question someone, like an Atheist, who proclaims: There is no God! I mean, I take it on the chin when someone punches me with a jab about believing in a "god" they cannot see/touch/hear. Fair enough, so why isn't my counter-challenge fair? And THE MOST DIFFICULT DILEMMA OF ALL? Suffering. Innocent people suffering an dying under a "good God". I'm shaking my head as I type it. My personal challenge to answer and type honestly when anyone asks me a touchy question ( politics/race/sex/feminism/masulinity/religion ) is to "not say something I know is not true", at the very least. Another quick admission: It is "true", the older I get the more I realize how MUCH I do NOT know. As the line from "Do the Right Thing": "That's the truth, ruth!" :-) [ Wow. Think of it this way: That was succinct given how much more I would want to flesh out my points in Jordanesque style! Haha. But I'll spare you. Now...feel free to reply...question...challenge. And, OF COURSE, I am interested in how you go about searching for truth. If you want to type as long or longer, go for it. Then again, we are free creatures of agency. You don't have to respond at all! Maybe just let me know you read my response, for courtesy's sake. I haven't quite replied to this extent before on the Tubes, but you do seem quite open and curious yourself. A similar soul. ]
@Tony L ya if I have a disease that requires an operation I will get one , if I need meds I will get them and in the meantime I will exercise, maintain a healthy weight and eat a balanced diet. Even her dad went on the pharmaceuticals because this meat diet was nonsense.
@@robg4472 actually the meat-only diet improved a lot of her dad's symptoms and he stopped most, i think, of his meds. But his wife was diagnosed with an unsurvivable cancer (or one with a seriously low survival rate). He suffered extreme anxiety. He was prescribed meds for it and those were what messed him up big time. Not the diet. (His wife is miraculously fine now, as you'll hear in the podcast).

Thanks for having Ms. Peterson on! Sorry, I can't recall the spelling of her husband's last name. No insult intended.

Does anyone have info on whether or not nuts and eggs are ok or do those cause inflammation? And veggies?
And fruit? Is that the same as eating sugar?
49:59 is the movie Dark Waters with the Hulk?
Now they are screaming all over the news about the delta variant of covid.
Isn't scurvy a problem on an all-meat diet?
Nop
@@miklimecat9636 Then why was it a notable problem on ships, in days of old?
@@zachary813 I hear they were eating carbs. There's this buscuit called "tack" that would last forever. That seems the likely suspect. Contrast this with the Inuit people who survived on whale and seal without carbs nor plants (ecxept maybe in the summer?) They didn't get scurvy.

Brad ...
As the line from "Do the Right Thing": "That's the truth, ruth!" :-)
[ Wow. ]
