This was the biggest instrumental band of the r&r/pop era. Perhaps it was The Tornados that were bigger overseas in England, but here it was Ventures. Instrumentals were big back in the doowop era with such artists as Duane Eddy, The Shadows, Floyd Crammer and Johnny & the Hurricains also well known inst. bands. In fact it was Johnny & the Hurricains that initially send this hit into the top 10 of the Music charts. Thx4 posting.
Je me souviens ce morceau de mon tendre enfance. Je ne savais pas que c'était la melodie The Ventures. Przypominam sobieten kawalek z lat mojego dziecinstwa. Nie wiedzialem ze byla to melodia zespolu The Ventures

The Ventures did a much better recording of this tune in the year 2000 on a CD label owned by Pat Boone called GOLD. In fact, the title of the album is "The Ventures...Gold." (Not to be confused with their Japan CD series, "V-Gold."
I had this song on my playlists for several years recorded from an album by : THE FENDERS.. It disappeared off my [playlists in the past few months. It was the best version of any of those recorded. Everyone I played it for agreed. I really miss it. Any leads will be appreciated.
This slightly speeded up version of the original sounds a bit like the electronic version used in "Planes, Trainsm and Automobiles." (Well, Johnny & The Hurricanes were a 1950's band.)
Remember the hamburgers at just about every bowling alley around the country? Always top quality. The owner always made sure of it. No McDonald's in those days.
I really like this kind of music and it reminds me of my youth.Oldies but goodies guys.Wonderful.
I used to listen to this song when I was a kid more than 40 years back. Brought back those fond childhood memories. Thank you so much.

Great!
Yes this is a Johnny and The Hurricanes song, but this version is the one from The Ventures
I saw it being sung in a 1940's western so it's old.
Actually this tune is based on the song "the Red River Valley" which was written in the late 1800's and first recorded by Carl Sprague in 1925!
My hey days
Musica muy buena... gracias por compartir .. slds
Good memories are back. It was originally from Johnny and The Hurricanes and it was played (a litle bit) quicker.
And better.
Sublime!😎👍
Your video editing skills are outstanding...If you could have paired in a clip of Johnny Paris on sax, it would be unbeatable...
