If you want to see past vending machine meals, this is a video from when I traveled all the way from Tokyo to Shinmoji in 2021.

I have just discovered your channel and watched the first video from it, and I very much enjoyed it. The ferry looks a bit like a ghost ship, I hope there were some other people aboard as well ? Also, first I thought it might be better to have a normal restaurant than vending machines. But I see that the food from the vending machines is quite good quality, and with so little guests, its probably much better that way.
P.S. I am glad that you got to try your curry before deboarding ;-).

Loved to see this ferry again. You said that you got nostalgic at the beginning, and I did too because the vending machine ferry was the very first video of yours that I watched! Best coincidence is that my coworker sent the video exactly three years ago today. Not only did you get me through the worst days of pandemic nursing, but you inspired a good portion of my two Japan trips in 2023. Because of your videos, I took two ferries, ate at seven of your recommended restaurants, and made the trip out to Shirakawa-go. All precious memories, and looking forward to trying more of your recommendations next trip.
Thank you for always bringing us with you ❤

Matching the vending machine to a microwave and then a microwave preset button to the vending machine item is the efficient thing I have ever seen

beer, ice cream and a cup-o-noodles is all anybody really ever needs, right? It is interesting that there doesn't seem to be many people on board such a large ship. Thank you for the nice video.

Ever since I saw a ferry video where a person went on a ferry in Japan where they did not have cell reception or internet or wifi of any kind, basically just a dead zone the entire trip I always wondered why there has been no anime/manga about ferry goers who are oblivious to a apocalyptic event until they reach their point of destination.
Just imagine being on a ferry for 16 hours and when you reach the docking port you see that 90% of the population has died out due to some viral outbreak and the remaining 10% are zombies or mutations or roving cannibalistic raiders.
then you got the ferry survivors haven to try and survive on the ferry, going port to port to get supplies attempting to stay on the water which is the only real safe place while haven in fighting and struggles due to the limited supplies and the class system of the people who were on the ferry.
Lot of interesting things one could do with that.

The Japanese have perfected the art of vending machines. The only crummy thing I've gotten out of the uncommon vending machine here in Canada is a can of soda, a candy bar, or a small bag of potato chips.
