If you want to see past vending machine meals, this is a video from when I traveled all the way from Tokyo to Shinmoji in 2021. ua-cam.com/video/me8qgPNiZ-E/v-deo.html
I have just discovered your channel and watched the first video from it, and I very much enjoyed it. The ferry looks a bit like a ghost ship, I hope there were some other people aboard as well ? Also, first I thought it might be better to have a normal restaurant than vending machines. But I see that the food from the vending machines is quite good quality, and with so little guests, its probably much better that way. P.S. I am glad that you got to try your curry before deboarding ;-).
Loved to see this ferry again. You said that you got nostalgic at the beginning, and I did too because the vending machine ferry was the very first video of yours that I watched! Best coincidence is that my coworker sent the video exactly three years ago today. Not only did you get me through the worst days of pandemic nursing, but you inspired a good portion of my two Japan trips in 2023. Because of your videos, I took two ferries, ate at seven of your recommended restaurants, and made the trip out to Shirakawa-go. All precious memories, and looking forward to trying more of your recommendations next trip. Thank you for always bringing us with you ❤
beer, ice cream and a cup-o-noodles is all anybody really ever needs, right? It is interesting that there doesn't seem to be many people on board such a large ship. Thank you for the nice video.
Puts the Vending Machine Ferry on an extensive " Things to do / Bucket List Japan edition " . Thankyou Solo Travel San again for your work with these videos.
Thanks for giving us better details of what’s available to eat ! It’s very interesting for one who will never get to take such great travels ! The foods look very good and hopefully I’ll be able to find some recipes that peak my interest! Your videos are always fun and it’s great to see the Ferry destinations ! Thank you ! ❤
I love watching your videos, they are very relaxing & entertaining. I just love all the different vending machines, I wish we had that kind of variety & quality here in the USA... I'd love to visit Japan and go on one of these ferries.
I'm not sure you will see this, but I want to say thank you. Your videos bring me joy, comfort, and calm. I am a teacher and I come home to your videos to relax, learn, and feel calmed. Please keep doing this and stay amazing!
Greetings Solo San. I have a new Japanese relative. My great-niece Maya was born on Tuesday morning. Her mother is Mizuki and her father is my nephew Harry.
Ever since I saw a ferry video where a person went on a ferry in Japan where they did not have cell reception or internet or wifi of any kind, basically just a dead zone the entire trip I always wondered why there has been no anime/manga about ferry goers who are oblivious to a apocalyptic event until they reach their point of destination. Just imagine being on a ferry for 16 hours and when you reach the docking port you see that 90% of the population has died out due to some viral outbreak and the remaining 10% are zombies or mutations or roving cannibalistic raiders. then you got the ferry survivors haven to try and survive on the ferry, going port to port to get supplies attempting to stay on the water which is the only real safe place while haven in fighting and struggles due to the limited supplies and the class system of the people who were on the ferry. Lot of interesting things one could do with that.
I feel like your comment is not getting enough traction. I would 100% watch this. Movie or show. Anime style. Someone contact Rob Zombie I’m sure he’d be all over it
On the one hand, I want to try everything in those machines, on the other, I would have to take the ferry so very many times to try everything. I was also going to ask if you ever make curry at home, but that might ruin you for the frozen curries. Not sure.
日本の自動販売機では、いつも食べ物の品質に感心しています。 普通は量もいいです。 I am always impressed by the quality of food in Japanese vending machines. They usually have good portions as well.
The Japanese have perfected the art of vending machines. The only crummy thing I've gotten out of the uncommon vending machine here in Canada is a can of soda, a candy bar, or a small bag of potato chips.
My local bingo hall has vending machines, I can get all types of coffee, hot and cold sandwiches, bingo markers, chips, candy, cookies, pop and water from them guess I am lucky in my part of Canada
If I opened the beer with one hand, it would have tipped over on me. You make it look easy. When you went to get your curry, I was hoping they weren't sold out, but then you pressed the wrong button. So sad. Yea, you got your curry! Glad your curry was good.
Whenever I watch one of these vending machine ferry videos it reminds of my younger teen days when I'd get Swanson tv dinners and the little dessert section was always as hot as molten lava, remember those days?
Interesting but I think I prefer real people around. And i much prefer a real room such as the suite you had on one of the other videos. I like the look of food on the Sunflower, that would be my favorite.
We have watched with enjoyment your travel videos, we’ve visited your country twice and plan a third trip of hiking next year there, you have an insatiable appetite 😊
Being a introvert I really like how u explore the ferry early in the am or late at night when all is calm n peaceful 😁what does red bean paste taste like?
I wanna tell you that you should try it if ever you go to a chinese/Asian bakery or try ché (Vietnamese liquidy sweet desserts, many contain beans). To me it really tastes like condensed red bean + sugar. But it's a great combination.
I think you made the mistake with the curry because I so wanted to see the soup. I feel unwell and wished so much to have some. Sorry. Thank you and I hope your New Year is happy and prosperous.
I from Kenya. I have watched this channel many times and love it. But what amazes me most is that Japan is miles ahead in all tech; travel, vending machines 😂, hospitality name it but, the yen and Kes (Kenya Shilling) are always almost equal. I don't get it. Everyday Japan is miles ahead of Kenya but not the currency...🤷🏽♀️....says i can move there abd more or less live normal but yet more advanced...i dont get it, living in a most advanced country at same money value as mine....?.... someone explain please...yeah i know, the language is impossible to learn!
i have heard that with these cabin style beds that at night if you hang the provided card , with a symbol of a hand on it, outside your capsule at some point a hand will anonymously come thru the curtains of your capsule and pleasure you . The hand can either be a female or male . Is this true ?
Another exciting ferry trip! Great to relive a past voyage to remember happy times. Wondering though if the food prices were higher than other ferry vending machines? The frozen microwave choices here in New York State are about the same price.
Spicy Hamburg Curry…I think I made that one time while playing Pokémon Sword. So…I see they take cash, but do those machines also take credit cards for convenience?

Thank you for always bringing us with you ❤
Matching the vending machine to a microwave and then a microwave preset button to the vending machine item is the efficient thing I have ever seen
I love your adventures. Makes me feel like i'm there with you. Always enjoy your trips : )
beer, ice cream and a cup-o-noodles is all anybody really ever needs, right? It is interesting that there doesn't seem to be many people on board such a large ship. Thank you for the nice video.
Wow this ship is so clean, neat and organized. What a fun way to travel.

Wonderful video as always❤love from Boston, Massachusetts USA❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉
Thanks for giving us better details of what’s available to eat ! It’s very interesting for one who will never get to take such great travels ! The foods look very good and hopefully I’ll be able to find some recipes that peak my interest!
Your videos are always fun and it’s great to see the Ferry destinations ! Thank you ! ❤
I just remembered that the first video I watched was then vending machine ferry. All those frozen dinners look delicious.💕🙏😊
Great trip. It's great you revisit this ferry route. And yeah many new menu updates.
I love your adventures.thank you.
I love watching your videos, they are very relaxing & entertaining. I just love all the different vending machines, I wish we had that kind of variety & quality here in the USA... I'd love to visit Japan and go on one of these ferries.
Thank you STJ for sharing this experience with us!

Greetings Solo San. I have a new Japanese relative. My great-niece Maya was born on Tuesday morning. Her mother is Mizuki and her father is my nephew Harry.
Congratulations to you and your family🎉❤
Congrats. I hope you get a chance to go to Japan to meet her.
Aww 🥰 congratulations! we have a Maya in our family too 😁
Ayyyy, mazel tov! Thank you for sharing! 🩷🩷🩷 Wishing little Maya the best life ever!
Congratulations :)
I LOVE the opening chirp sound!!
Awesome as always. Hugs from Canada 🇨🇦
Ooh! When I read "healthy eating" I was afraid I was on the wrong channel, but when I saw all that broccoli I knew it was going to be OK!
Nice and relaxing trip STJ. God Bless and be safe
I felt for you when your finger ordered chicken ginseng soup, but your heart wanted curry!
Solo Travel Japan good to see you posting travel videos again!
Wow, really get back to your early videos vibe and slept on the standard again!
I know I have said this before, but I wish the Washington State ferries had what Japan’s system has. I’d love to see vending machines like these!!
I live in WA as well. The ferry system there could be WAY better, but it’s like everything else in WA. Poorly run! 👎🏻
Me too! They had a coffee and cocoa machine when I was a kid!
sorry big dog, we gotta pay $8 for the worst chicken tenders on the planet
Given the state of society today, the USA can't have nice things unless something major happens.
Id be happy with a reasonable wait time on weekends.
Thank you Solo traveler for great content 😂
"I'm 100% ready to eat". 😂😂
STJ-san, I learned how to cook Japanese curry rice because of your videos. I'm an American living in the Washington, DC area
Thanks for bringing us on another journey. You reminded me of King Arthur, pushing 5 instead of 3. Safe travels!
Another wonderful video, next time you travel buy an oven mitt so that you dont constantly burn your fingers😂
5:24 the Tokyo gate bridge is beautiful!
Hi, you have gained another friend from the States love watching your video's ❤
It's fun because I get to have an adventure with you while I'm doing my super boring job.
What's your super boring job out of curiosity
The Takoyaki look great!
2nd trip of yours i have watched. Very good. Best wishes to you.
This seems like a really fun one
3:05 I felt like you had the perfect opportunity to have typed out: "This is exactly what I did in my 'ferry' first video."
😂
I watch the food in these videos and it makes me soooooo hungry!
"Ready to eat"? You were born ready to eat!!

Thank you so much!❤🎉
❤❤
Thanks as always! Have a nice weekend.
We've only taken one ferry in Japan. Next time we visit, we plan to do more after watching your videos! Thanks!
On the one hand, I want to try everything in those machines, on the other, I would have to take the ferry so very many times to try everything.
I was also going to ask if you ever make curry at home, but that might ruin you for the frozen curries. Not sure.
"C" is for 'curry', that's good enough for me... "C" is for 'curry', that's good enough for me...
OH, 'curry!' 'curry!' 'curry!' starts with "C!" 🍛🍛🍛
😂
日本の自動販売機では、いつも食べ物の品質に感心しています。 普通は量もいいです。
I am always impressed by the quality of food in Japanese vending machines. They usually have good portions as well.
I think this would be an interesting way to travel and try some new foods, even if they aren’t as good as restaurant quality.
I wish we had these machines in Australia too. I'd love to try canned bread 😊
How can you eat so much processed food?
Who knew you could get salty pork innards in a vending machine?! 😳
So many choices in the vending machines! 🤯I miss living in Japan so much.
Nice video brother. Cheers from another solo traveller :)
If I opened the beer with one hand, it would have tipped over on me. You make it look easy. When you went to get your curry, I was hoping they weren't sold out, but then you pressed the wrong button. So sad. Yea, you got your curry! Glad your curry was good.
Ngl, this is like a dream to me. A backrooms level I'd never want to leave.
Oh, I didn’t know Japan had okra!
Whenever I watch one of these vending machine ferry videos it reminds of my younger teen days when I'd get Swanson tv dinners and the little dessert section was always as hot as molten lava, remember those days?
Food and capsule looked good ❤
Enjoyed your video 😊
It’s amazing Japanese vending machines sell such a wide variety of tasty foods and quality personal hygiene goods
That was a lovely sunset. Pink and purple skies make me happy. I'll just have the pork katsu sandwich if that's alright.
There's nothing like being nostalgic! It's very annoying when your finger slips when using a venging machine. At least it was something you could eat.
stomach warm up complete , now stage 2 🤣🤣🤣
Beautiful ❤
Sensational my friend your on another amazing journey one-day I hope to travel to Japan I would love it there have fun for me much love be safe
I want to go to Japan just to eat out of your ferry vending machines.
I really enjoy watching all of your videos, but this time I have a problem with way too much plastic.
Your know he doesn't make the items right?
Amazing video
Interesting but I think I prefer real people around. And i much prefer a real room such as the suite you had on one of the other videos. I like the look of food on the Sunflower, that would be my favorite.
Hmm ..so many choices...wonder how many will have or be curry? 😁🤗
I’d like to know what the bath looks like one day
I recently tasted Japanese curry and rice, it wasn't bad.
We have watched with enjoyment your travel videos, we’ve visited your country twice and plan a third trip of hiking next year there, you have an insatiable appetite 😊
He had his curries, got worried there , that he wouldn't have his curries, talk about a stressful time , lolllll ha ha
I’m curious that there don’t seem to be other travelers.
No escape from the broccoli this time.
I love your videos
It seems more expensive than the buffet’s for sure.
At least the food in vending machines in Japan are fresh, in theory
I think you made the mistake with the curry because I so wanted to see the soup. I feel unwell and wished so much to have some. Sorry.
Thank you and I hope your New Year is happy and prosperous.
As a smoker I really appreciate AED next to the smoking room.
when you mentioned your final meal.. i was chanting curry
I’m not sure I could do a 16-hour trip with only vending machine food available. I would at least want one hot meal!
Thick spaghetti. He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready.
I gave a question, do ferries have dryers in their laundromats? I know that home dryers aren’t common but what about on ferries?
I from Kenya. I have watched this channel many times and love it. But what amazes me most is that Japan is miles ahead in all tech; travel, vending machines 😂, hospitality name it but, the yen and Kes (Kenya Shilling) are always almost equal. I don't get it. So the capsules, the "standard"... Is that typically the accommodation that the truck drivers get?
those cabins remind me of Harry Potter 😅
14:25 I wish you would have shown the inside of the takoyaki
i have heard that with these cabin style beds that at night if you hang the provided card , with a symbol of a hand on it, outside your capsule at some point a hand will anonymously come thru the curtains of your capsule and pleasure you . The hand can either be a female or male . Is this true ?
Those capsule rooms look to be quite claustrophobia inducing to me 🙃😢
I'm not as food-motivated as you are (although I can appreciate a good curry), but I would not willingly subject myself to 16h of only canned food.
Another exciting ferry trip! Great to relive a past voyage to remember happy times. Wondering though if the food prices were higher than other ferry vending machines? The frozen microwave choices here in New York State are about the same price.
You spent more money on food than you did for the ticket, almost😮
I wonder what the average calorie count is for some of those frozen items? They look nice in any case. :)
Spicy Hamburg Curry…I think I made that one time while playing Pokémon Sword.
So…I see they take cash, but do those machines also take credit cards for convenience?
Getting to be more of a food eating channel on fancy, planes trains and ferry boats🙄
But STJ, kare is healthy! 😉
These videos make me feel lucky that I don't have to eat Japanese food.
17:13 not Curry !!! :( 26:22 Yes Curry! Curry!
Do you do this for a living and get paid? 😊
Do you ever see anybody stalking these or replacing them
