dont know whats the problem here? as a german i grow up with kraftwerk, space synth krautrock or even george kranz music. and of course love it. and this right here is a solid cover.its another time and another style. the 80's were more upbeat synth stuff this right here is funky soul like. good job roots
This right here is official...takes me back to the days of the 80's when I was DJ Imperial Scratch Wizard and used to straight mastermix and scratch up Din Daa original...Much Love to the Roots and Much love to George Kranz for superior originality. I love this remix for what it is and the original for what it is...the two cannot be compared but what the Roots did to modernize and yet give this groove an original flare is MOST IMPRESSIVE!
One of the best comment ever. The George Kranz was the original version from this German guy, what was more for “euro-pop ears” back in the day... But it can touch the heart of the Roots (I’m a caucasian style man, but I prefeer this version, as I like George Duke and fusion jazz world). And I think the Root’s version perfectly match and respect the original track. Yes, an homage!
I didn't even knew this existed but I've always known about the George kranz version as I was born in the mid 80s but I like this, it sounds more modern but older like it should be in a film set in the mid to late 70s
Everyone has their own personal taste the George's original always going to be iconic but I wouldn't knock these brothers I feel they did justice by putting their own funkier spin on it good job roots.
I was a teenager when the original came out and I loved it. Though nothing like the original this one's definitely good. Different, but still good. The original is pure club music lol as this one is more of a jazzy interpretation.
Hmm. Honestly I do prefer this version slightly compared to the original, although I've known George Kranz' version years before I came in touch with this remake. At least for me it the Roots one sounds more powerful because of the percussion and I love these little details, like the deep bassline which appears at around 3:12 :) Both are great tunes!
Curtis Reid please what are you talking about this version is paying their respect to George everyone is always say this person should do this well they didn't do. I commend the roots putting their spin is just as funky so I felt they did justice
Jonathan Kidd still love the original but I like a different pace I think they some justice black thought did a lot lip service quest love did a number on the drums you can hear on this version
nor I . din daa daa becomes doom de doom doom ba bumpa doom de doom de doom cakka. pe ti doomdoom cakka finished off with duh duh duh duh pa poo pa poo, he sounds like a kid in a high chair. I'm snoring and laughing simultaneously.
ugh, nor I. The sound is awfully similar to a little kid in a high chair learning how to eat boo boo ba ba ba poo poo. da da doo doo..... WTF ? I understand the nod to 1920's jazz, but I am 1/2 laughing and 1/2 horrified

Absolutely the funkiest remix of this song on the planet...sooo fierce!!
I love the roots and their version, but no one can top George Kranz, that song is a masterpiece!
+classeychicforever I agree George Kranz's version had that certain magic that the Root's cover fails to capture.
+perpetual61 trippin
it's the mellow dope smooth wit it version.
THE ROOTS version is a "nice friendly version, and love the drums." but love K-MART using the ORIGINAL. love it.
Im struggling
IM loving this remake....that bass....kickin....questlove drums......
It's not supposed to be better than the original, he's paying homage!!!!
mary janes baby thank you
in other words, sounds like shit.
Ignorant Persson And what, pray tell, is YOUR talent?

Exactly 💯💯
A very good compliment to the original..Well Done Roots!!
As much as I love the original, this os just great 👍
I love this version!! The Roots.
Awesome rendition of a classic. I appreciate the roots for keeping the live band vibe.
Still my fav song of all time, now the remake is hot to. Good job guys.
Learn things everyday!! Didn't no it was a cover!! Big up George kranz
I didn't even knew this existed but I've always known about the George kranz version as I was born in the mid 80s but I like this, it sounds more modern but older like it should be in a film set in the mid to late 70s
A 40 Year Span.
And Both are Hot 🔥!!!
The Roots absolutely bodied that...
I had to listen twice...but I think I'm in love again. Roots, you're always on it.
Everyone has their own personal taste the George's original always going to be iconic but I wouldn't knock these brothers I feel they did justice by putting their own funkier spin on it good job roots.

This is definitely dope for their sound!
Takes Me Way Back To Drum Class I Love This❤️❤️🔥🔥
The Break Down Thoooo!!
🔥💯
If it was any group that I knew would do the remake of this any justice, it'd be The Roots!!!
All respect to Questlove, but nothing like the original. The original still gives me chills.
Rec Pro version this gives me chills quest love played the hell out of,those drums

That's the way you cover a tune! Quality.....
It is pretty dope
this is fya,,,better than the original. got more black soul WOW
haneef black You are drunk if you think that this beats the original...
Leave stuff alone y'all!
It's a reMAKE, not a reMIX. Thanks for sharing though! :-)
Gods in the industry: ROOTS! All day long
Respect to Quest love but the original is one of a kind
Remix, remake, no matter...Sounds great, just like the original...

This a lunge only set (Back, Front, and Side) for a Zumba routine. You think..it's just lunges...but at the end you are dripping sweat!
Din-Daa-Daa!!!
Shake shake shicki shake shake
Lit
3:20 you're welcome
Mike Ortiz The bass differentiates this from the original. The drums drove George’s original, the bass steps up in this remake. Love them both!
Da fuck !!! Une version The Roots. !!!!
Hmm. Honestly I do prefer this version slightly compared to the original, although I've known George Kranz' version years before I came in touch with this remake.

Both are great tunes!
TMSpeedster96 Love the original. But the bass line in this version is sublime.
I thank them for supporting the best U.S. president of my lifetime (not the orange guy).
din daaaaaa daaaa
the original was never ment to be remixxed
❤️ "Official"
beat buddy boi brought me here
Yeah, i’m not really a fan of this. Until it peaks at. Alittle better but George Kanz still holds the best title of best song ever made in my eyes.
It's ok but not better than the original. To successfully redo this song it needs a funky bass guitar player with the drummer. Marcus Miller please!
Curtis Reid please what are you talking about this version is paying their respect to George everyone is always say this person should do this well they didn't do. I commend the roots putting their spin is just as funky so I felt they did justice
FLIGHT
ya"ya"ya"ya"
its cool but can never compare to the original....sorry tring to hard
Where's the Deutsch count in?
Sticking to kranz. Mr G no more remix. Re make do over its ok as orig
Too many ratamacue', not enough paradiddles, #RandomFunk LOL. 🙂
This is better than the original to me. No disrespect to George Kranz
it's good but not as good as the original
Jonathan Kidd to me this is funkier
it s funkier however when you use to hearing songs a certain way for so long it takes some getting used to
Jonathan Kidd still love the original but I like a different pace I think they some justice black thought did a lot lip service quest love did a number on the drums you can hear on this version
Have more “love” on the Roots version, imho
Cool as fuck - just wish they upped octave or change synth sound to take it away like original
😝🤪🤪🤪
I don't agree on that this version has more black soul. For me this version is on valium.
Both are good but this is missing anger. Witch takes away from it.
ok itsabomb2
WTF
I like it but a bit too slow.
To each their own, but I'm just not feeling this...at all! Sorry, Roots!
The Roots version is some watered down Vegas garbage,no wonder the Roots stay overrated and a backup band, this is a disaster
Please educate me on the Grammy winning tunes YOU have dropped.
@@mairimsulaiman8230 turkey are you on the Roots payroll or just another rider? The song didn't need a remake, jive turkey
Dont have the speed or his power in his voice or female lift not hearing the drums last part threw me off like a horse bucking what up
why?
this fuckin sucked and i love the roots, wtf?! I know you guys are down but sometimes you just gotta stay in your fn lane
jussayin
Ugh. This is worse than Lenny kravitz crap remake of American woman.
Nope.
I'm not feeling this remix
nor I . din daa daa becomes doom de doom doom ba bumpa doom de doom de doom cakka. pe ti doomdoom cakka finished off with duh duh duh duh pa poo pa poo, he sounds like a kid in a high chair. I'm snoring and laughing simultaneously.
