Fab review, subscribed! Happy to see that someone else appreciates such an underrated fragrance. I bought a decant of VdN EDT a few weeks ago and fell in love. It smells just like a book I had growing up - it was quite old so I assumed the ink or paper degraded, either that or someone had spilled perfume on it. Look forward to more of your reviews!
Thank you so much, you are very welcome! All powdery iris notes have that old book/cupboard feeling. ALso, because this is a chypre, the oakmoss gives off an old wood smell.

You need to do more reviews in English! Fantastic stuff. I cant believe I waited this long to try vol de nuit. I have a 30 ml vintage edt bottle that i will cherish. This is up there with my favorite vintage frags from guerlain. In the same realm as shalimar & mitsouku to me. A pleasure to wear & an honor. This juice gets me very sentimental of the old days. It also fires me up. What an intelligent composition. And the contrasts in this perfume are enough to keep someone guessing for a lifetime. More English reviews mate!!

Great indepth video. The Extrait of Vol de Nuit is to die for, especially in the dry down. I found the EdT in the bee bottle somewhat lackluster... Just ordered the 2021 re-release in the "Mitsouko-Bottle", I hope they changed it for the better.

I didn't smell the inverted heart bottle version yet, but have received a trusted report that the formula has not changed. I am keeping my hopes up for an EDP. And knowing Guerlain, they will probably deliver sometime in the future. It's a most beloved scent.
Thank you for such an amazing in depth review. So much history and so many emotions. This was really enjoyable. I have one problem with this scent however, it seems to literally fly away into the night instead of stay on my skin. Most of it is gone in five minutes. Such a shame which probably has to do with the ph of my skin. Or maybe it’s the new version. I would really love to have tried a vintage EdP. Unfortunately they are extremely expensive. Have you smelled the latest version? Could you maybe compare?
Hi! Thank you so much and i’m glad you enjoyed it. The bee bottle I have is the edt, and i wear it in colder weather and it stays fine on my skin, although it is not a projector. If i wear it in the warmth, it disappears quickly on me as well. Unfortunately i have yet to smell the current formulation so I don’t know. There are rumours of it being a little more tenacious. I have no idea why they don’t do an edp for this, probably has to do with regulations or sourcing. I love the EDT though, and spraying on clothes or textiles really helps with longevity

Great review! Very informative. How is the longevity of the EDT in the bee bottle?
Thank you for watching! The longevity in the bee bottle is fine for an EDT, it's about 7 hours on a cool day. It tends to disappear in warmer weather. It already has a new bottle, a 75 ml inverted heart. The formula is the same, and still no EDP.
this Vol du Nuit will be my next purchase. you must know SDV from Guerlain? i would like to know if you recognize the middle or later notes and can tell me which other fragrances have it too. I have read that they use a different family of scents in different perfumes and would like to find another like the one in Spirituese Double Vanilla. i have tried others in their line and dont find it [and cant afford the SDV all the time] so i keep looking perhaps you can help?
Hey there. I know and love Spiritueuse Double Vanille, it's one of the most luxurious boozy vanilla that is just relentless. The vanilla is strong, spicy and very woody. SDV is fairly unique when it comes to its compositions, meaning you won't find another Guerlain identical to it, but certainly there's echoes of it. Such as in: Cuir Beluga, Bois d'Armenie, Tonka Imperiale, Angelique Noire, Mon Exclusif, even Mon Guerlain EDP. Hope this helps!
@@MemoryFlo well thank you for your insight, i will look those up and see if any would work for me, im afraid a lot of them are pretty expensive, i have the Heritage, and the Habit Rouge which are closer to my price range i will have to try and get samples of the others before i buy. thanks again!
@@pliny159 You're very welcome! Guerlain's vanilla is something you can definitely find in most of their creations. You have a most beautiful amberry vanilla in Heritage and a citrusy one in Habit Rouge give Shalimar a try! Also Mon Exclusif is not expensive and it has that boozy vanilla accord. If things get too expensive, go for decants. There are nice swap groups all over facebook where you can find used, partial or split bottles
@@MemoryFlo ok thanks i ordered a bottle of Shalimar from FrangranceX . i always liked Vanilla fragrances so thats how i got the SDV but after awhile i noticed that beyond the vanilla there was something really special that i liked more.i dont have your great "nose" for this stuff so it is hard to explain but after you have it on for awhile another smell comes up which is great and better than the vanilla and that is what i would like . i noticed that you record in a different language- is that Portuguese?
@@pliny159 love it. in sdv, beyond the vanilla there's boozyness, spiciness, creamy benzoin with that burnt quality, and a green (citrusy?) freshness. My native language is Romanian. I understand how it might get confused with Portuguese
