I'll suggest you to explore southern States in india. India is the most diversified country in the world, both culturally and geographically. You'll feel like you are visiting new country in every other state you are visiting. I am from Pune in Maharashtra state and I'll suggest you to visit forts around pune, ajanta & ellora caves, diveagar beach ( all are in maharashtra state itself).
