  • Hard Knock Tv's Nick Huff Barili sits down with Royce da 5'9" for in-depth interview about Royce's life and new album Book of Ryan. The conversation starts with Royce describing first time he met Marshall Mathers aka Eminem, even recalling the line he spit at the show that impressed Em. Royce goes on to share that he used to have rap battles over the phone including one with Eminem, Pharrell (who Royce said sounded like Nas at the time) and a group called The Clinic. When Royce first signed to Tommy Boy Records, The Neptunes were the second producers he worked with, the first was DJ Premier. As the interview continues Royce breaks down inspiration behind the PRhyme track Era as well as why its important to show love the the younger generation of rappers. Royce states that too often in hip hop if a mc praises another mc he is seen as a dick rider but if when he says something negative then he is a hater. Royce goes out of his way to show love to those he respects and says he studies J Cole and Kenrick's albums because they are the young kings. Royce's new album Book Of Ryan features J Cole, Boogie, Dave East and Logic. Part 2 of the interview ends with Royce describing the day he choose to go sober 6 years ago and how Eminem played a role in that. Royce also says that it is important to check in on your strong friend because often the quiet ones are the ones that try to deal with everything on their own without help from others. Royce points out that the deaths of Chester Bennington and DJ AM as examples of strong people who took their own lifes and asks us to reflect onwhat does that say about our industry? Part 2 ends with Royce saying that artists like Logic are helping open up the conversation about mental health by talking about it and letting others know they are not alone in what they are going through! I agree with everbody sayin this should be more strictly about royce... He is his own amazing lyricist, if anything royce like right up there wit him... But Royce too humble tho, i respect this person for how he handles himself..

    I heard a rumuor that most of these media people want to interview Em but he declines and insists that they interview his friends so they can get some shine, apparently that is supposed to be why most of them don't get upset or angry when they are being asked about Em. Like I said it is a rumour I read somewhere i don't know how true it is.
    Also you know Eminem's name is click bait, lol it gets the views, shuut! if you are in a position where Em's name can get you some shine, dude take it :)

    He was trying so hard to NOT recite the line that got Em’s attention lmao. “He complimented me.....on a line I said”, “the fact that he complimented me.....ya know....on the line that I said”. I actually remember him mentioning this before and how much he hated the line in retrospect

      Âhməđ ƏŁhâğ logic thinks he’s the shit so he thought if he half assed a verse nobody would care or notice... I take it as a disrespect to go on Royce’s record a Record that Eminem rapped on and spit a garbage verse....logic is now trash to me and nobody gives a fuck that he’s biracial I honestly could care less

    • @evonoob8200
      @evonoob8200 6 років тому +8

      sixmillion pesoman yeah same shit with sriracha all over again he needs to respect the OG’s in the game and spit some real shit instead of this garbage about him being biracial i mean like NOBODY cares just spit some bars at least if he want to talk about that shit he should at his own album not at legends album , royce said it was better than his but he is clearly trolling like wtf lol if i was in his shoes i wouldn’t add it to the song like wtf
