As messed up as it is, I feel like Cynthia knew she was getting older and was willing to sacrifice the rest of her life in order to protect her child and grandchildren. That's probably why she was acting weird and lighthearted at the trial, she accepted her fate before even committing the act.

I think the reason she is so happy is because she knows that he can’t hurt them anymore. She has nothing to hide. She literally sacrificed everything to make sure they are all safe. That’s the way I see it.
I think this is the first murder case I’ve learned about where I found myself on the killer’s side just about the whole story….
Is it wrong that I feel bad for the grandma…? Like that man sounded so abusive (assuming everything said about him is true) I don’t think she should have gotten life
the fact that laura testified against her dead husband speaks volumes about who he was as a person
I feel like Cynthia knew she would end up in jail so why not enjoy her last day of freedom.
the idea that cynthia was being made fun of, at her age, on her birthday, when she may have her reasons for picking that outfit (whether it was bc of the fit or she liked the colors or the jersey), breaks my heart. i honestly want to cry. i hate when people are cruel to elders. obv this guy was an abusive piece of shit but that when i lost it.
I’m sorry but this was definitely provoked unlike other killings. I’m not validating it, but i can understand the pain she felt because of simply living with an abusive man like that
Sounds to me like Cynthia was being protective of her daughter and grandchildren.

I think she absolutely planned to do it on her birthday. When he daughter walked in and asked why did she do this, the first thing she said was "Its my birthday."

This man sounds like a cruel, abusive bully. What kind of man treats his children, and a disabled old woman like they are less than nothing. Everyone has a threshold, and to be honest it seems that Cynthia had watched and received so much abuse that she simply wasn't going to allow it any longer, clearly.
I had to roll my eyes at Geoward's sister talking about his love for his family. Where were you when he was abusing his wife and children, hmm? The only person who took action was Cynthia.
Idgaf, how much I love my husband but if he sprayed my mother down with a hose, there would be hell to pay. That wouldn't go down so smooth at my house.
Ngl the visual of the granny hobbling back and forth between the house and the car to reload is hilarious. Also, while of course no one has the right to take another person's life, I fully understand why Cynthia snapped.
She definitely got what she wanted for her birthday and that low key made me feel happy for her.
I'm a mum and can in all honestly say if someone hurt my child in that way, I could commit murder without remorse, and I'd just like to add I'm a nice normal person but I would go feral on anyone hurting my kiddo.
