A standard is a standard and must be enforced no matter who it applies to. From Coach Rhule himself all the way down. It hurts the team having Mazzuca out but I respect coach Rhule for the way he runs this program. GBR!!
I respect coach Rhule for this. As a Michigan man I am all about a standard being set by coaches and players. Hope he takes the punishment and moves on
Mazz is a good lineman, but he won't be missed....Luto is growing into a STUD! He will be a GREAT lineman next season. His experience last.. and this year is BIGLY! It isn't a huge falloff when he plays.. bet!
Yes, it is difficult, but we/you have no idea what went on, and the coaching staff is still responsible for the growth of the man, not just the football player.
Someone on the Rivals board posted about Mazzcua before anyone said anything about it on saturday at 8AM. He said that Mazzccua took himself outta the game against CU PLUS said "something" to Coach Raiola. Pretty unfortunate that he can't grow up. Him and Ben Scott looked to be quite the duo in the middle
If that’s the case show him the door. No doubt he’s a beast, but if he doesn’t want to play, we should give his scholarship and NIL towards someone who deserves it
@@accentball don’t disagree, but can’t he sit him self out allowing him to redshirt and then transfer? If he’s sitting himself out, that could be what he’s thinking

Jimari Butler will get after the Illini QB . IMO Bly Hill if healthy has the best technique in man coverage in the secondary room . Just as good as Tommi Hill.
Disagree, but I don't know the entire story. I argue with my supervisors over projects all the time. I'm reprimanded but when they need me the bottom line outweighs the lesson when you're nearing the end of a career. Or in *a career.*
PFF grading isn't the end all but it does show success rates for each player based on every snap for each player. According to PFF, Mazzccua was the 4th best rated o-lineman with a minimum of 100 snaps for the Huskers. He has graded 4th in run blocking and 3rd in pass blocking on the line through 3 games. I think you are overstating our need for someone with a bad attitude, Mazccua came in with a bad attitude from all accounts and now he blows up at a coach. He is not fitting into the culture and so he better shape up or ship out because this is the best place for him right now. Mazzcua had his worst game against Colorado and his grades were the lowest of the starters. I believe Mazccua was pulled against Colorado for Lutofsky and that could be why he blew up at a coach. That is an opinion based on what Rhule said about Lutofsky and how Mazccua was performing against Colorado. Lutofsky has 52 snaps but so far he has the best pass blocking grade at 85.9 and 3rd in overall grade but 5th in run blocking grade. Against Illinois the truth will be revealed about our o-line. Corcoran had his best graded game against UNI. That is hopeful but Illinois ends get a lot of pressure on QBs and so it will be a big test as neither Benhart nor Corcoran did well versus the rush against Colorado. They both grade below 44.0 with Corcoran having the worst grade at 39.4. Illinois has 4 sacks, 6 QB hits and 27 hurries on the year with 36 def pressures of any kind. We have 8 sacks, 12 QB hits, 33 hurries with 51 defensive pressures of any kind. This will be a fun game but I expect a lot of adversity. GBR!
I think its a learning moment for mazzcua. That type of energy wont last in the nfl if he has his eyes set on that future. So i understand the dicipline. The fan part of me doesnt care, i want to win, our odds go up drastically if he plays. Tough situation
Well it probably isnt it but i commented on his interview after cu and i was like dam i wanted more questions asked to u so maybe he was like ya u know what i havent gotten many questions compared to other players or something idk? I hope thats not the case im just stupid paranoid like that sometimes. Maybe he wants his bro playing? Idk he seems happy go lucky the last couple interviews i seen of him but hope to see him back out there and that he doesnt get more angry for sitting out 2 games.
I’m not gonna say KU is bad, but I don’t know if they’re as good as they have been either. They DID just lose to UNLV, so that doesn’t look like as good of a win anymore
Coaches need to shake Hartzog awake. His errors on defense are becoming a trend. Especially the turnaround and try to tackle with his backside move, and wrong leverage lineups. Looks like he hasn't improved much from last year when QBs were picking on him. His interception wasn't due to great coverage; it was due to a horribly thrown ball, so I don't give him points for it.
