@@MIKRASIATISSA There is no depictions of a 'Christian themed devil'. If you actually read Christian scriptures, you'd know that. All depiction of the what the devil supposedly is are fan fiction that came hundreds of years later. It's not canon to the original testaments.
Wicca and paganism are completely different from satanic things or satanism. Christians seem to be calling everything that slightly scares them 'satanic'. It's ridiculous.

the devil (or at least an adversary, an evil being of the underworld) isnt a christian idea neccesarily as well, it also existed in ancient greece and many old ancient religions.
the horns are associated with the modern christian satan. however, they arent christian either. considering the modern idea of the christian devil has been influenced by media (the devil isnt mentioned to have horns, be red, or even be a goathead, in actual christian literature).
something funny is that christian conservatives got really pissed off by this performance, even though she literally kills the devil in the end....

The performance (unsure if the song itself) is actually a reference to how Bambie decided to confront and stop protecting her abuser, who sexually assaulted them, when I assume Bambie rejected him (most probably due to sexual orientation). The fellow Bambie confronted regarding the above used to be their long trusted friend. Bambie is basically fighting their own demon on stage and doing what every victim would love to do in front of millions of people - sweet payback. The performance during semi finals was so powerful, because Bambie actually felt every bit of this representation to the core and that's what most fans found so beautiful, heartbreaking and simply a masterpiece.

Two of the main misconseptions about this song. First the Ava Cadavra incantation wasn't created for Harry Potter. It wasn't, its an aramaic healing spell. Also the symbology here is wicca, not satanist.

The end is amazing
he has one horn, it's a half man half demon, not the devil. If you look carefully it's a ballet. The symbolism is beating your demons. Everyone's demons are going to be different depending on person. The imagery is clever, using witchcraft in the beginning in the magic circle whilst struggling with the demon and as the demon is on the way to being beaten the magic circle lifts up and eventually becomes a crown.
As a witch and pagan from another country, this is my favorite song. The pentacle (five pointed star surrounded by a circle) is a very ancient symbol that is not satanic in origin. It’s actually originally a Christian symbol for the five wounds of Jesus. And they are not possessing the demonic man, rather battling the ties of their bond to him while he is “living a lie” instead of living authenticity.
The satanic star is the 6 pointed star of Remphan, there is no such thing as a star of David, King David's symbol is a harp.

Those trying to brand this 'satanic' are usually from a Christian religious standpoint, who have spent centuries denouncing paganism in order to replace it, and tbf they were pretty successful. However the church in Ireland, not devoid of its own rituals, is no longer a shining tower of virtue in recent decades. Anyway, I loved this performance, the design, costume, choreography and camerawork were perfect - the song is actually well-crafted (Bambie is a talented songwriter) and to package all the light & shade (dark shade alright) into a 3-minute performance with such presence is the best I've seen at EV. Saw a couple of interviews on here with Bambie, and they are a delightful, charming and eloquent person. I'm excited to see what they do in future, and how they can keep reinventing themselves

I see this more of a scorned boyfriend that she killed and "perfected" by reincarnating him via a wicca ritual/spell (hence the half human/half monster look he has).
She thought he would be better/different because of this in the way she wanted, but in the end he was worse. She still had the power over him as her creation, so she had to kill him again.

The whole “is this performer satanic” thing is so shallow. Bambie was one of the few artists to speak out in support of Palestine; the supposedly satanic performer ended up having better morals than some of their glitzy glam peers lmfao. It’s so beyond me that people can’t look beyond an aesthetic lol.
Pagan not satanic, probably way more powerful then satanic to be honest. Either way its a powerful performance for sure. I also feel like her pilot dancer is supposed to represent the personal desires that we manifest but they start to control us, then she takes back control at the end its so bad ass.

It's really sad to see your reaction. It's like people just don't want to believe anything outside of Christianity despite thousands of years of pagan worship before a monk ever stepped foot on Irish soil. Have you ever seen that symbol on her forehead in Christian iconography? Or how about all of the pagan symbols behind her after the candles raise? I swear... reactions like this get my blood pumping.
